good cross training shoe????

Before I came across the Cathe workouts I spent most of my workouts running/walking outdoors/treadmill. I have always worn a running shoe. Brooks and NB seem to be the most comfortable and workable shoe for me.

However, I have been wearing these shoes to do my step workouts and have noticed that my knees/hips/ankles have begun to bother me. I am already stepping on my board at its lowest level so I thought I might try some different shoes and see if that helps.

Does anyone out there have high arches and narrow feet???? Anyone have a good recommendation--I also have to have tons of cushioning or the bottoms of my feet ache. It also has to have staying-power.

Any help would be appreciated.

Rykas are a favorite around here ;-)Not only are they a GREAT crosstraining sneaker but Cathe wears them in her videos so you KNOW they are good!

NB and Avia are my favorites for crosstraining! You may also want to look into buying performance socks that let your feet breathe and have cushioning support! My recommendations for socks are Thorlo,NB,rockport and columbia! They are pricey butYou can get them cheaper at TJ maxx!

I just bought a pair of Nike Shox Energias and I love them! I've worn shox for awhile now and can never go back to anything else. I needed a new pair and did some research and found out that the energias are specially designed for cross training, including side-to-side movements, etc. They have a crazy arch in them and give sooo much support!! I would definitely recommend them and nike has a 30-day return policy, even if you've already worn the shoe and just decided that you don't like it.

I'm another big fan of Rykas - they have great cushioning and are very comfortable. In the past I've also worn NB and Nike, but my first pick are Rykas. One thing about Nike though are they seem to cater more to narrow width feet.
