Getting my body back

Greetings all

I recently had my first child 2 months ago and have gained a decent amount of weight (fat). I have 'Firm'ed for years (10+) and never got to that next level without a gym workout at least 2-3x per week tacked on.

I recently purchased some Cathe vids, LOVED them and bought / traded for a bunch more. I am having awesome results with the CTX Series (inch loss, but the scales are barely moving) but want to do something more structured rotation wise. Can someone help me out? I'm 5'3 and currently wearing a size 9/10 (I was a 5/6 pre pregnancy). My goals are to lose fat and tone up.

This is what I have:

CTX Series (including Ab Hits and Upper Body)
Power Hour
PS Series
Cardio Kicks
BodyMax (reading reviews of this one scares me)
MIS/MIC

Also, I'd like to add that I am a step idiot! I used to be able to keep up before I had my son, now I have to try not to trip doing a standard climb :-hmmm

Thanks!

Hi! You said that you have FIRMED for years! How long has it been since you worked out? Did you exercise during pregnancy? Did your dr give you clearance to workout? How many days can you workout? How much time do you have available? What other tapes do you have? I suggest that you start off slow building a solid foundation of gaining your strength & endurance back first! Do what you know that you can do and stick with it! Stay on it for 6 weeks--get the discipline of taking care of yourself again! If you feel that you can do more intensity than throw in an advance tape of Cathes--say cardiokicks or powerhour--once a week, maybe 2x or 3x!Stay on that and see how your body is responding! You can gradually up your intense days but always have a few intermediate days to let your muscles repair themselves and perform better for you! If you want to tackle body max, I recommend splitting it-doing lower than upper the next day or do lower one day--a cardio video(or rest day) then do upper! The most important thing is to listen to your body! You want to prepare your body for the certain stresses that are ahead especially with all the impact in cathes videos! So get yourself primed up! The CTX is fabuluos and fun--you have great videos---use them wisely! You don't want to be a warrior, just getting in shape is hard enough! Keep it simple! It's easier to stay in shape, it's a way of life--so start your new leaf today! Stay motivated--have fun! Your body will bounce back into shape-you have to be patient & incorporate clean eating as well as you enter your new fitness lifestyle! Lotsa luck Your friend in fitness~~Francine

Hi Francine

To answer some of your questions:

I have been exercising steadily since I was about 15-16 (track, weight lifting etc.) and started Firming when I was about 18. I did exercise moderately during my pregnancy and was given clearance to start again at 3 weeks pp. So I have been back at it for nearly 7 weeks, starting slowly with Firms and Pilates Matwork to build up some strength and endurance and have been Cathe-ing for about 3 weeks now.

I have been listening to my inner cue's and resting / lightening up when I need to. But at this point I no longer consider myself working up to it, I can do Cardio Kicks or Power Hour with no probs and only slight modifications.

I am a SAHM now so I have afternoon nap time (a 3 hour block) to exercise, shower, get dressed and get some household things done each day. Weekends are off.

My eating isnt as clean as it could be, but I'm working on that. I know what a major factor that is (for me) in seeing results.

So after all that typing my real question is, considering the vids I do have, what kind of rotation should I follow? Examples would be good.

Thanks for your advice.

PS I'm *still* scared of BodyMax

Thanks for the added info! If you can later on list all other videos you have --I'm sure people will jump in and assist you on more ideas! On going with what you already listed--there's plenty to do! I would first suggest that you stay on the rotation you are on til you have stopped all modifications and performed each workout to your peak! Once you feel conditioned and want to move on--the simplest way to go would be CTX and throw in that extra day of working out--it is a well rounded program and you will lean out while eating clean! You'll be working one bodypart at a time! Some other ideas would be to then tackle your fears of bodymax--split it up---Do Bodymax lower with ab hits one day, then 1/2cardio with upper and abs, then cardio kicks, then do MIS lower with ab hits, then upper with abs!(you can also substitute leaner legs and CTX upper body for split training) Then you could go onto Pure strength series with MIC and other interval tape or cardio! Then you could go on to Powerhour with another total body tape and 2 cardio days and one pilates day! Just some ideas to show you the variety of breaking up the cycles of working your muscles! No matter what rotation you do -it's the eating that can set you back! Try to eat your higher calories when you know you will be burning them that day! If it's an inactive day then be smart on what you eat and when! Also try to set a goal for each rotation that you do--this way you'll now where to go from there! Good luck!Your friend in fitness~~Francine
