Getting it done for March 2015

Hi!

Sherry: Glad to hear that your Son is making it back to school. Nice job on D14! HEHE oh boy leg and glute DOMS.

From Yesterday I am sore all over! Oh My! I ended up taking a rest day for that reason and that I didn't sleep very well. :/ Up since
1:30 am. I hope to get to bed early this evening for sure. Then back on track tomorrow.

Sara: Glad your enjoying these RWH workouts. They are perfect! :)

Belinda: Thank you for the recipe! :p How was your workout this morning? ;)

Off to get some coffee to last me through this evening. Work was busy and lots of running up and down stairs.

I am wearing my UP band tracking my steps too. :) Yesterday I was over 12000 steps. YEAH!

Have a great evening!

Hi all!

So, glutes really feeling last night's D14. Youza! every time I get up. Tonight's exercise was a 2mile run. Had to take the pace down a bit 'cause I didn't like where my HR was. Don't think it's the muscles. Maybe still recovering from giving blood over the weekend.

DS feeling good, finally, but now DH went to the doc for a very sore throat. Didn't test positive for strep, but put on antibiotics as a precaution. I don't want any more sick people in my house!

Sara -You go! Adding on any of X10 is not easy - but keep up the doubles while you have the time. how was Dr. Seuss today?

Belinda -Hmm, more strict? Not doing so good - GS cookies were brought into the house. But they won't last very long, and I am logging every single Thin Mint. Might try that recipe, but don't usually think of cottage cheese with mustard.

Heidi - Yay! on the steps. Get your rest. Tomorrow you'll be back at it!

Time for bed - definitely need the sleep! Catch ya tomorrow.

Good morning,

21 Day Fix Pilates and SBF UB is done.

Heidi - you are welcome! Let me know how you like it? Hope you got some sleep last night. WTG, on your steps. You have a Fitbit?

Sherry - it's more strict with the extreme :) No alcohol and no cheat day :) it's all good. Good for you for logging all those cookies :) The first time I read about the egg salad recipe, I was like  It's really good. I am having almost every day for lunch:p

Sara - glad you enjoy the new workouts. Good for you for doubling up. I walk a lot:D Love walking my dogs.

Have a wonderful day and workout, everyone.

Belinda - I love using cottage cheese as a mayo replacement. I've done that recipe w/o the mustard and it was good, but I'll add the mustard next time to give it a more "traditional" flavor. Thanks for the reminder of that little gem. :) I've experimented with blending my cottage cheese very smooth so it mimics the texture of mayo and it really works great in tuna, especially if you add a little salt and celery and relish. On a sandwich, with some lettuce, you actually can't tell the difference and you've added a ton of protein and taken away a ton of calories.

Sherry - Arg...those things do just go through the house. I hope you don't get it. Dr. Suess day was red and white so I wore a striped red/white dress with my white jacket. Super cute and fun. Today (the last day) is backwards day, so I think I'll wear a dress backwards (with leggings of course, I never know what I might be into so leggings are always a must with dresses) and put my scarf on backwards too! Kiddos ought to laugh. :)

Heidi - You know you're body best and you are doing great! Steps count in the overall picture.

This morning I'll do Low Impact 2 + Pyramid Hiit + some other shorty. I've been walking/running in the evenings with a weighted vest so that's been a nice double that gets my heart rate up. How would you all classify that? I'm thinking metabolic? Maybe compound? Not sure, but hoping the afterburn with help with some of these pounds.

Good day to all.

Morning!

Quick check on emails and I was off to my workout.
Slide and Glide is in the bag! ;) Great sweaty workout.

Oh Sherry! I hope you keep up with your OJ and vitamin C. EEK! Sorry to hear that now your Husband is sick.
Nice job on the Glute DOMS! HEHE ;) Good job on your run!
This is a house with no GS cookies. PHEW! My Grandparents used to get them when I was a kid.

Yesterday I made a Banana/chocolate chip bread from a Forks Over Knives recipe. YUMMY! Very simple to make and has no sugar or eggs.

Belinda: Awesome job on your workout this morning! ;)
I have a wrist band for my steps and it is from Jawbone called an UP24. This mornings workout gave me 3301 steps so far.
I ended up sleeping in a different room for I seem to toss and turn alot. Its bad enough for me not to get sleep but my DH needs to get his too. :/
I slept pretty well after I finally got to sleep. So maybe I got in 6 hours. Feeling much better today for sure.

Sara: Awesome job on your walk/runs with a weighted vest! :) Have a great workout!
Silly days are fun ENJOY! :)

Well time for a shower and work.
Make it a good one!

Heidi

Tomorrow's plan: RWH Low Impact #2 and abs #1 plus a run.

Heidi - that's a lot of steps! WTG! Glad you got some sleep, 6 hours is better than none.

Sherry - arrr..sorry about your husband. Hope he feels better soon.

Sara - I never knew/or heard you can us cottage cheese instead of Majo :) I like it a lot! You need to try mustard, it gives it a nice kick :) Great idea with the tuna, have to give it whirl soon. I do have to admit I like tuna as is.

I already have 10.000 steps and it's only 1 p.m :p BBL!

Good Evening!

Workout done - D13. Glutes still talking to me today, but just talking, not screaming, so worked them just right. We'll see about CST's tomorrow.

Just got the soccer schedule at tonight's parent meeting, so now will need to be a bit more creative with my wo plans if I want 2 legs days a week. Gives me something to think about.

Belinda - Thumbs up on your steps today! Ok, if you're having it everyday, it must be good. Kind of like my broccoli slaw with the lite raspberry vinaigrette dressing - one of my lunch time standards.

Sara - Wow! Keep it up! Great energy to get in morning and evening wo's! As for the cottage cheese, I don't like the curds, so I always put in in the blender, then mix with some fruit or greek yogurt for a bit more flavor. It's a texture thing. Yes, just one of my idiosyncrasies.

Heidi - Good job on S&G. Hope you get more sleep tonight. Recipe sounds yummy!

That's it for today. Hope you had a good one!

Good FRIDAY morning All!

Looking to do Circuit Lower body + 15 or so minutes of bike. I'll get a walk/run in this evening.

Sherry - still healhy? Those soccer schedules can be crazy. Is it rec or "select" (that's what we call it here in Microsoft territory)? Select schedule is off the charts around here, every day + traveling games, sometimes overnight. I sort of like practices for scheduling my outside workouts though b/c the time is already set aside.

Heido - I'll have to check out that recipe. It sounds like it could be good. I've switched to coconut palm sugar for most of my "daily" type recipes and no one can even tell the difference. It's got a great flavor, but it makes things a little darker (doesn't matter for breads, muffins, waffles, etc), but has a low GI so it doesn't affect blood sugar so extremely.

Belinda - I admit to loving mayo, but I don't love what it does to my daily calorie intake, so I "settle" for cottage cheese or greek yogurt as a replacement and I think most of the time it works just great. What were your total steps yesterday? You started out with a bang so your number must have been high. Isn't that a great feeling? I consider it a bonus for the day.

Hope everyone's weekend starts well.

Good morning,

21 Day Fix Cardio Fix is done :)

Sara - great plan for today. My step count was only 16K, after I hit the 10K mark I hardly moved, lol:) The day before I had over 19K. I already meat my 70.000 steps for this week :)

Sherry - good job on D13. Do you make your own raspberry vinaigrette dressing? I make my own all my salad dressings :)

Hi Heidi - did you get more steps in yesterday? I didn't, lol :) I was lazy!

I will be back later today. Have a great day and workout.

Evening! :)

I did my workout this morning before heading into work. YEAH!
RWH Low impact #2 and abs #1.
I added in 2.5 miles on the TM also.

Steps for the day so far: 10,957. At least I made it to the 10,000 mark yesterday wasn't as close: 8219

Belinda: Wow on your steps! :) Those extra doggie walks pays off for sure. :) Nice job on your 21 day cardio fix.

Sherry: Nice job on D13! The one thing that is getting me this week are my upper quads and hipflexors. I think the extra burpees
and mountain climbers really get in there good.
Great news on having a schedule now so you can better plan your workouts and days ahead. :)

Sara: How was your workout today? I am planning on that one tomorrow for RWH circuit legs. OH BOY! :)

The recipe is super easy and is more of a dessert then actual bread.:
From: Forks Over Knives page 291 Called Better-Than-Mom's Banana Bread. You can add chocolate chips like I did or fruit or nuts etc.

Mix in medim bowl:
2 Cups Whole Wheat Pastry Flour or flour of choice if allergic. Maybe Almond or Coconut flour would work too.
3/4 Tsp baking soda
3/4 salt

In another bowl:
Mash 2 bananas 1Cup worth
1/2 Cup 100% pure maple syrup
1/2 Cup unsweetened applesauce
1/4 Cup plant based milk like coconut, rice or almond
1 1/2 Tsp vanilla

Pour wet ingredients into the dry and mix until evenly moistened. Add in other things like the chocolate chips or fruit etc.

Pour into bread pan (that is either a non-stick one or use a non-stick spray) and spread evenly but not crammed into the corners because this will spread out on its own while baking.

Bake: 350 for approx 50-60 min. It is done when the edges are pulled away from the edge of the bread pan and lightly browned. Hard to test with a toothpick for this batter is fairly moist.

When it is finished cooking: Remove and let sit for about 30 min to cool. Then remove to a wire rack for further cooling. Eat warm or cut-up
and store in ziplock bags for a quick grab for breakfast or late afternoon snack. This can also be frozen for up to 2-3 months. I do this with a lot of soups etc. When time is short having meals made ahead makes it sooo much easier. :)

Enjoy!

Have a great evening!

The weekend is finally here!

Tonight's run was 2 miles, and I'm still off the pace I was at. Plus, not feeling quite myself today. Hope that means I'm not coming down with something. DH still feeling lousy, though it's not his throat so much his throat thanks to antibiotics. DS home for the weekend to catch up with friends who had break this past week and to rest a bit. DD getting ready for the season kick-off soccer tournament tomorrow. Gonna be a long day.

Sara - Great wo plan. Did you get it all done today? DD plays on the high school team - girls soccer is played in spring here in MI. She was playing select until the past year, because she had been running cross country in addition to the select team, and this year (junior) here course load was too much to do both. I'll have to try the coconut palm sugar in my baking, which I do so much less now that we're trying to eat healthier.

Belinda - Good wo. You are allowed some days with a few less steps. At least the dog has been getting daily walks - makes her so much happier. I get Annie's Naturals for the raspberry vinaigrette. I sometimes make my own, but that's usually apple cider vinegar, olive oil and some spices.

Heidi - Great cardio today. You do find a lot of recipes. Amazed that you find the time. Looks good. Still on my quest for a chocolate pudding (avocado and cocoa powder) recipe that satisfies the chocolate craving.

That's it for tonight. Winding down. Hope you had a good one.

Heidi - Thanks for the recipe, it looks amazing. I'll try it for my boys. How much measurement on the chocolate chips? I'm with Sherry that I don't bake much anymore, but do for them, especially when it's pretty healthy. I have only tried coconut flour for certain recipes and it would probably be too heavy, so maybe I'll give the almond a try. I saw a bag at Costco. Good job sticking to your workouts.

Sherry - Oh no! I hope you're feeling ok today. I hope you aren't running around too much b/c DS is home, plus the tournament will keep you busy. Try to take it easy, but it can be so hard when you have so many responsibilities.

Belinda - way to go getting so many steps. do you count when you're working out, or just the rest of the day? I like using a weekly goal too, it makes slower days feel less bad.

So far I've been getting in doubles several times a week. I'm hoping they will add up. I'm down another pound so hooray.
Planning upper body circuit + some other cardio. Then I'm heading to Portland where my sister is visiting for the weekend. Should be fun for us to visit w/o any kiddos around. :) I know I won't get in a double today or tomorrow, so I'll have to be super careful about eating (and drinking :) ) today.

Take care.

Evening!

Workout just completed:
RWH Circuit Lower Body :)

Sara: 1/2 c on the chips. :) I like to toast the bread and put peanut butter or Sesame butter on it too. :)
Awesome job on your workouts and weight loss. :)
Have a great time with your Sis!

Sherry: Oh sorry to hear that your not feeling all that great too. :/ Its probably trying to catch you but your body is fighting it big time
by the sounds. I hope your DH gets feeling better soon!
Nice run and good for you keeping it low key for now until your feeling like your self.
I try to cook something for breakfast, lunches and dinners ahead for the week. So tomorrow is soup day. :) I am making a recipe from
One Dish Vegan: Tunisian Chickpeas With Sweet Potatoes and Greens.

Hey Belinda! You off traveling today? I hope you are having a great weekend! :)

Off to watch TV with my DH.
Have a good evening!

Tomorrow's Plan: AfterBurn!

Hey girls,

Sorry for not checking in this morning. I did do 21 Day Fix at 7 a.m before we visits our kids in DC. All day long I was wondering why my fitbit wasn't counting steps:oops: I always take my fitbit off when I take a shower. Long story short, my fitbit was home while I was in DC:rolleyes: I did walk a lot today. I am just glad I didn't lose it, I really thought I lost it in DC. We did had a great day in DC.

I will catch up on personals tomorrow.

Hi everyone!

Long day due to the soccer tournament. DD's high school was one of the hosts, so the games were close. I was able to come hoem and take the dog for walks in between, but it wasn't until this evening that I was able to get in D14 wo#2 this week. We also partook our share pie today - chicken pot pie, apple pie, cherry pie and chocolate cream pie, so tomorrow and the rest of the week, will need to clean up the diet.

Sara - Hooray for the pound! All that work is paying off! Enjoy your time with your sister.

Heidi - Nice workout today. I'll look that recipe up. I'm planning on making some chicken in the crock pot tomorrow so I have it for lunches this week. Now that soccer season is here again, that crockpot will get more use just so we have healthy food options when we don't have a lot of time. Still too cold for grilling.

Belinda - Glad you had a great day with your kids. Too funny about leaving your Fitbit at home. Sounds like you are really using it as a tool to keep you moving. High five for that!

Time to relax for a short bit, and definitely get some sleep. Catch ya tomorrow.

Good morning,

I will do 21 DF Yoga after my coffee. Next week DH and I will continue with the original 21 DF workouts.

Sherry - sounds like a busy day yesterday, glad you still got your walk and workout in. Good for you. That's a lot of pie:p I'll bet it was all good? Yes, I use my fitbit to keep me moving,

Hi Heidi and Sara - hope you having a great weekend .

I will be back later tonight.

Evening!

This morning was Afterburn. I ended up taking a rest day yesterday due to just being busy. ;)

Work as usual today was busy and lots of running up and down stairs. That's a workout on its own! 10242 steps total!
Came home exhausted and starving. Had my soup I made yesterday then took a rest.
Woke up however with a headache. ;/ Monday's usually do this to me.

Sara: Have fun with your rotation! Is this on the manual for a rotation?

Sherry: OOOH Pie! LOL! Great job on your workout with D14 wo#2. :)

Belinda: Sounds like another great weekend in DC. :) Great job on your workouts too.

Good evening Heidi,

AB is a tough one! WTG, girl! I think you made up for yesterday:p You make soap? Fantastic :) Sorry, about your headache. Hope you feel better.
