Getting it done for January 2015

Today I'll do Hiit Circuit lower body with abs following. I'm hoping to get in a walk this evening while DS is at basketball.

Belinda, I know what you mean about hanging on to clothes. It's a hard job to get rid of them, glad your DD could help.

Good morning,

Last night DH and I went for a nice long walk.

Today is XT Legs and SBF. Aleisa and boyfriend visit us yesterday. She helped me to go through my closet. I have a hard time letting go of cloth. Not sure why? I had cloth they haven't fit me in over 2 years, why do I hold on to those things? LOL! I also had a lot of business dresses, I know I never gonna wear again. I want to simplify my life.

Did you see the RT announcement? Who is in?

Heidi - I agree, Panera Bread is too expensive and very high in calories. I know, I can do any of Cathe's ab workouts, but I bought and still have so many shrink-wrapped, unused dvd's I have to go through. I figured I have to start somewhere. I like doing planks for ab workouts, not so much traditional crunches. Did you get your run in yesterday?

Morning Belinda! Nice job on your walk last night. Have a great workout! Sounds like a nice visit with your DD and her BF. Nice to clean out things you just aren't going to use anymore. More room for the good stuff! LOL!

I won't be attending. :/ I have a business to run which keeps me very busy most days.

Good job getting to those newer workouts! It is hard not to get new ones but really...we do have a lot now and I am working through mine per rotation.
Planks are awesome for abs and stability challenges!

I did get in my run last night! yeah! something at least. 3 miles at a steady speed and small inclines. Sneakers didn't hurt or burn my feet anywhere! :)

Good morning!

Incline walk already done this morning. :) Starting week 3 fo RWH this evening - legs on schedule. Yesterday was a rest day and a day off for all of us, so was spent with appointments and errands. Took DS back to school last night.

Gotta shower and get ready for work, so will catch up on personals later.

Sounds like a busy run around day for you yesterday. Good luck to your Son this semester! I am sure you will miss him but he isn't states away at least. :)

RWH Low impact Hiit with abs #2. I still can't do those side plank snow angels! LOL! Really felt the abs burn on the bicycle moves.

Off to shower and work for the rest of the day.

Belinda - Great wo this morning. No walk here - too cold and icy again. Plus a bit more snow this morning. Yes, it is January. Unfortunately, I won't be going to the RT this year. Just won't fit into the finances right now. Chicago was so much easier because I could drive there. I've been in a cleaning out mode here, too. Haven't made it to my closet yet, but making progress. Guess I'm just tired of the "stuff" all around here.

Sara - Good job on your wo this morning. When my kids were at practice, I'd either be trying to walk/job or run errands. Gotta make the most of the time.

Heidi - High five on your wo this morning. Don't stress about those side plank snow angels - I struggle with them, too.

Today I am planning HIIT Upper body circuit with abs.
Those snow angels take some working out to get balance and hold. My "standing" arm sure does quiver. :)
 
Hey girls,

Stomach still upset, I still worked out. I couldn't do a lot of jumping today, so no cardio. I did do Tracey Mallett Booty Barre Beginner & Beyond - Express workout = 35 min + Bonus : Floor abs & Thights = 15 min.

Sherry - no walks for me either. It's snowing outside and it's cold. I am not going to the RT this year. Aleisa has a conference around the same time of the RT. OH well. It is a lot of money for a weekend. I hear you on the stuff around you, I feel the same way. Need to stop shopping. I am still working on my closet. Still getting rid of cloth :)

I am looking forward to getting things cleaned out here as well. I need to buy some cabinet slide in shelves/drawers of some sort. I have many crockpots etc that need to be better placed than stacked one on top of the other. ;)

Belinda: Sorry about your stomach issues. Phooey! I hear ya though and when its upset any jumping isn't going to help matters.
Awesome job however on your workouts!

Sara: Great job on attempting those windmills! I can hold a side plank ok its just lifting that top leg. LOL! Just not happening!

No workout here today. Just too darn exhausted from again lack of sleep. Up at 2am....tried again on the couch but that was useless.
Took my sleep aid at 4....no luck. Just totally exhausted now. :/
Didn't get anything done for work.

I just made a quick Tofu and Rice Noodle dish that I can pop into containers and eat on the go. Really trying to eat better!

Heidi - thank you :) I am sipping on some ginger/lemon water to help my stomach. I am so sorry about you sleep. Good thing you took it easy today. Hope tonight you get a good night sleep. The Tofu and Rice Noodle dish sounds so good. Are you a vegetarian? Get some rest, my friend!

Happy Thursday?

Yesterday's only wo was snow shoveling. I left earlier than usual to beat it, and it took longer to get home. Once there, I got to shoveled the 2" that fell during the day, all day, and the 1" from the day before. With the longer drives and the shoveling, I was worn out at the end of the day. Also, glutes were talking to me all day thank to the RWH Legs wo the day before. I thought DOMS were supposed to get less intense as we did a wo more. Maybe I went deeper/heavier than the time before.

Today - nothing in the a.m., was tired and stiff from yesterday, and just couldn't get it going for HiiT. I'll do that tonight. I went to sleep just fine, but DH was restless, tossing and turning all night . . . argh!

Sara - I've been on the elbow - can't do it all on the outstretched arm. enjoy today's less intense wo.

Heidi - You are so good about cooking. I don't enjoy it - I'd rather be baking (I think that part's genetic - I come from a family of bakers on both sides.) Storage solutions needed here, too. Or just need to get rid of stuff and only keep the things I use (also family issue - "you might need that someday" for especially kitchen items).

Belinda - Glad you are feeling better today. Great wo's for today when you aren't quite at par.

Up early and able to report - wo is done! HiiT2 plus BA2. Wanted to get it in early because I'm meeting DH and DD at the Auto Show after work, then we'll be going out to dinner. They are both off school today (she's off for record day - end of the semester - and he's off every Friday).

I will do SBF and cardio today. I will report later what I did :) I have a dental appointment this morning. My tooth is still bordering me?

I have a confession to make :) Alesia, her BF and I are doing the 30 day Paelo Diet, we are in week 2 now. I didn't say anything, because I didn't know if I could do it :) I have never eating like this before, I mean that strictly. So far so good. I cut out ALL sugar, no dairy, no bread, starchy food and alcohol from my diet. I eat mostly vegetables, fresh fruits and lean meat ( you still have to count calories). I have no cravings since I cut out sweets :) I am eating super clean. I will continue to eat like this after the challenge except on day a week, I will have some complex carbs (like sweet potatoes, brown rice.) Eat only one piece of chocolate once a week, not like every day. DH is eating everything I eat, he still eats bread (sprouted) and dairy. I have a lot more energy.

Sherry - good job getting your workouts in that early and your dog walk yesterday. You go, girl!

Congratulations Belinda! I've done that twice before and it's not easy. I was considering doing the anti-inflammatory cleanse with Cathe and the Nutrition Gurus, but it's just too expensive and I have all my information from the last time. I agree with you that once you get past the initial withdrawal, it's really not that hard. I try to maintain that diet all the time too, but I do have wine and occasionally I really crave carbs, not necessarily bad ones, but just more than is allowed. I think it's the working out b/c those plans don't account for heavy workouts. Keep up the good work. You may have inspired me to tighten up my own diet a bit more. :)

I'll be doing Cyclemax today, but am a little worried. Last week was the first time I did a cycling video "Ride" (I've ridden my stationary bike for hundreds of miles, but not with direction) and it was sooooo hard. Good news was I burned 575 cal according to my HRM. This one is different so we'll see how I do.
 
Sara - Aww…. thank you :) The first 4 day's was extremely hard for me. I wanted some chocolate but couldn't eat any, lol. Plus, I wasn't reading through the material my DD sent me, I wasn't eating enough food:( I felt much better eating on day 4 eating more veg and meat. I honestly didn't think, I was gonna last this long :p I always give up after the 3rd day, lol! I really don't want to go this strictly but beware what I put in my mouth. On the Paelo diet you can't have beans, soya or peanuts. Everything has soya or peanuts hidden in their food? Must read labels in the grocery store for those things and hidden sugar :) I was considering doing the anti-inflammatory cleanse with Cathe and the Nutrition Gurus, I also think it's too expensive. I never followed them, but I think you eliminate a lot from your diet too? Eat more proteins and vegetables right? This year was a turning point for me, I work my a$$ off and still don't see the results I am looking for. I am also getting my thyroid checked. My doc told me a few month ago, it's probably my diet :) He may be on to something, lol

Up since 4. Totally wiped out from lack of sleep and a migraine. The headache must be from not sleeping at this point. :/

Yesterday I tried to keep busy at work to forget about the headache. Lucky my DH was around to catch me when I got dizzy and almost fell over
a bunch of boxes. :.

This has been a rough week for sure. No workouts to report.

Today is a snow day. Expecting about 4-7 inches. It started around 5:45 here. Piling up quick with very large snow flakes. Actually quite pretty seeing as we haven't had much snow this winter so far.
My silly kitty is out romping around in it. I swear he is a dog! Loves playing fetch with sticks too. LOL!

Belinda: Great job on your workouts and eating good. Glad that your DH can join in this as well. It makes it so much easier when everyone eats the same.

Sherry: Awesome job getting in your workouts early! :) I hope you had a great last night at the Auto show. Great to have the kids join you as well.

Sara: Wow nice job on your cycle workouts! Yes, starting off with cycle workouts at first is hard and breathless. :) You can burn major calories and it is low impact. I started off with 20-30min workouts and worked my way up to over an hour. Love my cycle workouts!

Where do you find Cathe's anti-inflammatory cleanse?

I am following a Paleo Vegetarian plan mostly. I am not much of a meat eater. I eat chicken or fish 1-2 times a week and the rest is veggie soup and salads. No white flour if I can help it also. Forks over Knives has some great recipes. :)

Today I will spend cooking for the week ahead. Snowing and too cold to be running around anywhere. :)

Belinda, I have that WO too, and it is really hard. I find it gets boring though doing the same thing over and over. That's why when Cathe made Tabatacize I was so glad b/c it made tabata fun.
The ant inflammatory cleanse I did sounds a lot like what you are doing. It's basically eliminate dairy (except cage free eggs), sugar, wheat, legumes, and pretty much everything else except grass fed, or free range meats, veggies (but not high GI ones like carrots and potatoes), a little fruit. I liked it and it helped get my diet back on track. I eat pretty clean most of the time, but this is a good way to "reset" and remember that 10 cheeze-its and 1/2 cookie day after day lead to 20 cheeze-its and 2 cookies (at least for me). :)

Heidi, I hope your headache goes away. They can be so debilitating, every step feels like an earthquake in your head. Take it easy.

Today I'll do STS Total Body. I really like this one. It's my favorite total body strength WO.
