Good Morning,

Back upstairs after an I-Tread with GG. Lots of whooping an hollerin'..

Just getting us started....BB in a bit!

Deb:)

Morning Deb and all who follow:)

*groans* I'm so tired. I could NOT get to sleep last night. I hate that. It was well after midnight last time I looked at the clock. Needless to say, I didn't get up at 4:30 to work out. I'll see how I feel this evening, but at this point, I may be taking a rest day.

Off to check out the forums and I'll bbl.

Oh, and my co-worker is back today x(

Hi, I'm back,

Shelly:
Too bad about the sleepless night. I hate when that happens. Your awful co-worker is back today? ugh..x( Just ignore her. The weather did get better yesterday here. Sometimes our SO's say the sweetest things!

Leanne:
Glad the lips are a little better. Try the B-complex. It does so much other positive things for you too so why not? Did you get that workout in yesterday? Make sure you take some pics of that necklace when its done so we can all see it!

Lainie:
You are lucky that you were able to find frames that you liked. I would like to have someone that I could trust with me to pick out frames. DH says everything looks ok, no matter how bad it is! You would think that the people at the place would have someone that can tell you what shape you should get for your face etc. The place I go to has older men that are really nice, but are clueless about picking out frames.

Robin:
I checked for the book in my local library but it is checked out. I'm going to request it. They do have The Heroines so when I go there today I will pick that one up. Thanks for the tips! Sorry Greyor had a bad night. Does reading help him go back to sleep? Yes, take it easy please? We want you back in tip top shape!

Jennifer:
Glad you had good weather...that means we will get it today! Sorry you were not feeling up to a workout. You must need a rest. Your body is telling you that.

Tneah:
Yes! Finally you were able to get some R&R with your DH.:7

Have a great day!

Deb;-)

Good Morning Melters.

It's Monday and it's going to be a cold week, they even dared to mention the S*** word in the forecast. It seems like it will never leave.

Tues. night is when I plan on doing something. Sunday AM, I pulled a muscle in my back when I picked up Seville. He's only about 12 pounds.

Not sure when I will attempt ACS2 again. More than likely, I put it inbetween some of Cathe's stuff and preview it again.

Have a Good Day!

Goodmorning all. Gosh, I hope my recommendation for The Heroine isn't a dud! I've only read about the first three chapters!

Shelley, I hope you can score the pants later. I'm sorry you had a bad night. Maybe you should take some earplugs to work with you today.

I'm home today with laundry and bathrooms on the list. I'm going to dig out the breadmaker today too. Oh, and do a step workout, I hope. My rash is clearing up nicely. I'll be back sometime after load one and breakfast to see what's up with the rest of you melters.

Good morning, Melters!

I thought about you all this weekend, but obviously I took another computerless two days. It was so nice that I'll probably make it a regular habit, unless I actually need to do something on the computer. Actually, with spring kicking things into gear, I probably won't have much time, anyhow.

I read the weekend thread, and it sounds like everyone had a fairly decent weekend. I hope so!!!

I did some work in the flower beds and mowed the yard for the first time. I need to start working with one of my horses. It's been so long though, I'll probably do something stupid and get kicked off.

My calf is definitely better! I did 4DS HIS, and in the third combo I did all those leaps over the step, then back on into the lunges... ooooh, I was so excited! No problem at all!

Shelley - I hope you're not to draggy today. Maybe you'll wake up as the day goes by. Sometimes it happens. Really.

Deb - I got a chuckle out of GG's "whoopin' and hollerin'." I guess that's one way to wake up, isn't it!

Jennifer - sorry to hear about your back! I hope it heals quickly. Take it easy!

Robin - I'm glad your the shingles are on the way out. Thank goodness! Enjoy that bread baking! Don't you just love it? I made some this weekend, too, and it's just so satisfying.

Good Morning All!

Well, I am up and ready (sorta) to roar this morning. As you all know we had a great time this weekend, but I just wasn't used to the good food and drink and really needed to sleep and rest yesterday.:) Good grief, how do people do it when they come to Vegas? Every night they are here, they stay up super late, and eat and drink like fish. I am getting to old and wise to do this sort of thing.;) But every once in a blue moon its fun to throw caution to the wind, plus DH and I reconnected and had so much fun.;) I have one more check in with trainer man this Friday, so will do my best with the program the rest of the week.

I read the last few posts last night and it sounds like everyone had a pretty good weekend as well.

Deb, Grace that early in the AM? Don't think I could bear to hear her until at least 8am.}(

Robin, good, your rash is clearing up, do you have to take the meds constantly so it will not return? How is little Greyor this morning? What kind of bread did you make? I make a mean loaf of challah bread...

Jennifer, yuk. More snow huh? I hear that SLC where I used to live is getting hit pretty hard again this morning. What is it with the crazy weather anyway? Take care of that back, back problems hurt.

Shelley, hey girl. Go buy those pants that look so great on you. That was SO's way of telling you, stop wearing the baggy stuff and show it off already!:7 Sorry bout the return of "co-worker from hell".

Shannon, nice you took another computer break. And I think you should try getting back in that saddle again, its good exercise for you and the horse? What are your horses names?

Hi to Leanne, Lainie (love the specs) Emily...:) will be back to see whats up with you guys later on.

I have a doctors appointment to followup with the bloodwork I had done last week, will see what my hormones are up to! Also, tomorrow morning early,I have to fly into Orange County. Our boat is in Newport Beach and needs to be cleaned up before the big "yacht-fest" deal. I guess your boat is always for sale, DH says he would sell it for the right price, so I have to go down with Taylor, DH's daughter and pretty it up. So that is one more day of exercise I will miss. Oh well.
Gotta go start to move about after I drink one more cup of java....bbl to chat:7

Happy Monday, all!

I'm grumbling a bit because I have to go into work later this afternoon. I think I might have mentioned that I run our remedial writing program, and today I'm meeting with the two other teachers that are going to be taking over for me after this semester. I was trying to set up a meeting on T/TH so I wouldn't have to go in, but it didn't work out. It'll waste an hour of driving just to go in for a one hour meeting. Ah, well!

Today I'll be trying AB's Hi/Lo Knockout for the second time, which I'm looking forward to. She has some interesting abs work at the end using weights. My chest is still sore from GS Chest/Tris yesterday! What workouts will the rest of you be doing?

Deb -- Yes, that whooping sounds like a fun way to start the day! Do you have a B-complex brand that you'd recommend? I'll definitely post a photo when I finally get that dang necklace finished up!

Shannon -- We missed you this weekend! What great news about your calf! I'm so happy to hear it!

Jennifer -- (Copying part of my post from last night)What a small world! I live in a suburb of San Diego called Carlsbad, which is right in between Oceanside (north of us) and Encinitas (south of us) -- we're about 5-10 minutes away from each of them. I haven't heard of Our Lady of the Ocean, but I'll look into it. I grew up Catholic, but I grew up in a different area of San Diego, and I'm not familiar with the local churches from where we live now. Now you'll definitely have to plan a trip out here to visit! Sounds like you had a full day in the yard, too! Glad that your friend Michele is keeping up with her program. You're such great encouragement to her! Oh, no -- not more snow! UG!

Robin -- Glad that the rash is clearing up! And don't worry about the book recommendation; I'm sure it'll be a great book. Don't overdo it with all those chores if you're still not feeling well.

Shelley -- (Copying part of my post from last night)-- Ouch! I'm sore just thinking about all that yardwork you did today! Ah -- you have to go back and get those jeans now! Toss out those baggy clothes, girl, and get some new stuff to flaunt that hot bod of yours! I know you've lost a ton of weight, so you need some new stuff! Sorry you had such a bad night of sleep last night.

Tneah -- Are you recovered from your night away?}( We sure missed you yesterday. And now how many more days do you have left of the program? We have to start a countdown! Edited: Looks like we were posting again at the same time! How fantastic that this is the final week of your program! Are you excited? Hopefully the flight out to OC won't be too bad. It might be nice to have a little get-away!

Lainie -- How are you doing? Is the ankle any better? Did you get some sleep last night?

Afternoon all!

It’s a gorgeous, sunny day here! I’m feeling quite optimistic that spring may actually be here!

So far the awful co-worker has been just fine. I did get a lengthy description of her trip this morning, but that’s to be expected. She was in Israel and Jordan for two weeks.

Deb – yes, sometimes my SO surprises me. He’s normally fairly reticent.

Jen – oh no, not the S word!!! Ugh. I’ll cross my fingers that it passes by. How is your back today?

Robin – how goes the cleaning? I’m glad your rash is clearing up quickly.

Shannon – I’m the same once the gardening season hits. I can just spend all day out there, especially now that we have the pond and I’m doing all the landscaping around that, plus I’m putting in another garden bed this year. Have fun working with the horses!

Tneah – I can’t believe you’re so close to the end of your program. And I’m happy to hear that you reconnected with DH on the weekend. I also *ahem * reconnected with Chris this weekend ;-)

Leanne – sorry to hear you have to work today. That sucks. Thanks for the vote of confidence on the jeans. I think I’ll go back tonight and get them.

Lainie – where are you this morning? I hope all is well!

Oh, Shelley, go get those jeans! They sound fabulous!! Sorry that that co-worker is back. Ug! I actually do have work to do today, but I just normally can work at home all day on M/W/F. It's the having-to-go-in-for-a -meeting part that's annoying! ;-)

Lainie -- Where are you?? We miss you this morning!:)

Hey Melters! Happy(???) Monday! As if Monday could ever really be happy. :p I hope everyone had a lovely weekend! It was gorgeous here - I didn't want it to end.

I had the most craptacular workout ever this morning. I shouldn't have even bothered getting out of bed. I wanted to try doing a LB workout with the Bowflex and it was just a disaster. I wasn't getting much out of any of the exercises. I'll stick to my Cathe LB workouts, thankyouverymuch. I won't be able to redo my workout today, unfortunately, because I have a dentist appointment this evening.

Deb, good work on the iTread. Yes, lots of whooping and hollering. ;)

Shelley, sorry about your sleepless night. :( Sounds like a rest day may be the way to go.

Jennifer, hope your back feels better soon.

Robin, I want some of that bread you're making! :9

Shannon, I'm so glad your calf is all better! Sounds like you are jumping right back in (literally!) :)

Tneah, have fun prettying up the boat tomorrow. Sounds like a hoot. :p ;)

Leanne, sorry you have to drive all the way to work and back just for one meeting today. That stinks!

Howdy to everyone else. Hope you're all having a great day!

Hi melty/freezy types.

I'm a bit late dropping in today--just a busy day. This is my first chance to sit down since this morning.

Took kids to school, went to Target, had speech therapy with Ewan, put Ewan down for nap, started moving cold weather clothes into storage bins, got a call that Isaac had a tummy ache and wet pants, woke Ewan early from nap and went to school to get Isaac, came home and continued moving clothes into storage, cleaned bathroom, moved shoes into new hanging shoe bag, blah blah blah.

It's just been one of those days.

No workout. Ankle is better but still a bit sore (doesn't help that I've been on it a lot today).

Hope to bbl for personals.

Hi Lainie, sounds like you are having a very busy 'mommy day!":)

Leanne, you have lost 15 pounds in 6 months! That is so incredible! I had no idea that is how much you lost. That makes you and Shelley our "biggest losers" or rather "melters" around these parts.:7 Fabulous!
Hope your day is busy, but in that good way busy can be.;)

Shelley, Ha! We got lucky this weekend huh?;-)

Well, I ordered a pink weighted vest-25 pounds, plus some extra weights to put inside, in preparation for the STS workouts. I think it might work during other exercises as well, we shall see. I just hope its not like those weighted walking shoes I bought that caused shin splints and hip flexor problems. OK, off to the doctor to see if I'm approaching peri-menopause or not. Will be back with good/bad news.:)

I'm finally back. Whew, I'm so tired today. I did all my chores and ASC2, but in between, I took two naps.

Jennifer, I sure hope they were wrong about snow. We are having nice temps in the 50's, but it is cloudy and there is a lot of rain in the forecast. Better than snow. My sister emailed me. Seems my mom's house in VT, the one we are trying to sell, got ice dammed under the shingles and when it melted, it caused all kinds of damage.

Shannon, I sure wish I loved to work out doors. I never have cared for it. I'd love to have a big garden and grow my own veggies, but I never keep up with it and end up with weed beds. I'm glad to hear your calf is doing well. My knee held up well on the step today. I have to admit my bread making consists of tossing the ingredients in the machine and pressing the button, but it smells and tastes the same as if I did all the kneading myself.

tneah, my DH and I did not reconnect this weekend. He keeps reminding me how long it's been since we've reconnected. Sigh. I only have to take the meds until they are gone, another 3 or 4 days. But the doctor did say there is an adult vaccine that is suggested at age 60. I made CROWW bread - cinnamon, raisin, oatmeal, whole wheat. I hope the doctor has good news/advice for you. Have fun on the boat.

Shelley, you had mentioned trying to get together again. I'd love to, but I'm not sure when. Between work, plans with Tris and vacation, my weekends are full until mid June. I think July may have some time with no plans. Check your calender dahling. Are you still going to Texas?

Emily, don't worry about your workout. I bet you worked harder than you realized. Hope the dentist visit is just routine.

Leanne, too bad you had to go to work for a meeting. My DH hates when that happens. He can get other stuff done though, when he doesn't have students to mind. Good work on the melting.

Lainie, I'm glad to hear your ankle is mending. Sorry to hear about the wet pants/tummyache. I don't miss those days at all.

Greyor's therapist was here and she brought a big scary "stander." Its a padded thing to help him stand. He seemed to like it. So maybe he'll stand and walk before he rolls over or crawls. Seems to me Tris never did crawl.

Afternoon, everyone!

I'm feeling really awful for some reason, so ended up canceling that meeting I was supposed to go into work for. Last year, I started having this same problem at the same time of year: dizzy spells and lightheadedness. I ended up having to go in for a CT scan at one point last April, but nothing was wrong. I'm convinced that it was the prescription nasal spray that I was on; as soon as I took myself off it last year (even though my Dr. told me not to), the symptoms stopped. She convinced me to go on it again about a month ago, and here I am with these same symptoms. I stopped with the nasal spray on Friday as soon as I started noticing how bad I was feeling, but it's gotten a bit worse. Ah, well! Enough grumbling!

Emily -- Congrats again on the race! You did awesome. Will you be checking in with our melty group again? I hope so! We've missed you!

Robin -- It sounds like the stander could be a really good thing for Grayor. I hope that it continues to not intimidate him and that he helps him make some good progress.

Lainie -- Sounds like you've had a busy day, but you've accomplished a lot. That's a great feeling! Glad the ankle is better -- but be sure to not overdo it!

Tneah -- You're too sweet! *You* and Shelley are the true melters, babe! I'm honestly just blown away by the progress you've made. So four more days, right?! Then we need to celebrate your success! Now where did you get that pink vest? I'm a sucker for pink! Keep us posted on what the Dr. says, OK?

TK -- "Hi" in case you can check in! Hope work's not too busy for you.

Hey all,

Leanne, sorry you are feeling yuk.:-( Sounds like it is the nasal spray thing. Hopefully by tomorrow it'll be out of your system. Oh, and I got the vest at www.weightedvest.com. It was really expensive, but I figured I would use it alot. Especially when STS comes out, cause I know I will not be going to the gym all the time to do legs, and this offers a great alternative to lifting heavy barbells over your head for squats. My barbell goes up to 65 pounds (thats how much I will lift over my head anyway)plus add another 25 plus pounds with the vest, and I have a pretty decent amount I guess. My legs are really strong though.

Robin, maybe this weekend you and DH can well, you know "reconnect.";) You haven't been feeling well, so that kinda puts the kibash on everything. BTW, I can smell your bread baking all the way over here!:9

Ok, went to the doctor about my bloodwork. Estrogen levels are great, progesterone levels are a little low along with my T3 (one of the thyroid hormones)so he is prescribing T3 in very tiny doses to raise it back to normal (now I know why its so hard to drop bodyfat for me, I mean c'mon, anyone else doing my program would weigh 100 pounds by now, I did good on it, but still, you know what I mean), he says alot of docs do not test both TH levels, so you wind up still low, even though it looks like you are "normal". He said the lower progesterone levels contribute to the night sweats, heart palps which I get especially around my period, and my heavy periods. So again, I get to take just enough progesterone to raise it to normal levels. Goodbye night sweats and PMS!:7 I am a little low in vitamin D...so need to spend more time in the sun or take it in supplement form, which I already do, but I guess I need more. I also need more vitamin B's. But other than that, I am "perfecto!". He also said my HGH levels are really high, or at least they were at the time they drew blood. DH says he didn't test those levels correctly though. He says the only way is to put in a catheter (in the arm) overnight or something like that. Robin, you might know about that. But anyway, happy to hear that, I have no trouble building and keeping muscle mass and my skin nice and wrinkle (well almost) free.;) Okay, time to go feed Georgie and do more cardio. Geez, I will be so glad when my workouts are only once a day again.

Hello melters. This morning was Seasun Zeiger's 'The Next Step'. I hope Seasun puts another DVD on the market soon as I really like her choreography. She cues really well too.

Leanne: I didn't plant anything in the garden yet. All I could manage over the weekend was turning over the soil and pulling weeds out. The main bed is ready for planting now so I hope to at least get my lettuce in. We still have a possibility of frost so the temperature sensitive plants still have to wait. That a bummer that you're not feeling well. Do you have your new car back from the shop now?

Tneah: Glad you enjoyed your weekend. LOL about the boat always being for sale, cause it's so true. A couple of our friends have sold their boats because complete strangers approached them with offers they couldn't refuse. If someone offered to buy ours, I'd do the same thing. I like the boat, but I'm not in love with it!

Shelley: Sorry to hear your 'pita' co-worker is back in the office. Our 'pita' is due back next week. My co-workers think that 'pita' is her job desciption because she does little else. Oh, and I didn't get to run yesterday because the weather was kind of snotty. Maybe next week. And don't you hate it when you can't sleep? Once I miss the sleep it just seems there's no way to make it up between work, home obligations, and everything else. I'm sure it's the same way with you.

Robin: mmm, homemade bread. The smell it makes in the house is devine, isn't it? I gotta get my machine up and running again. DH always giggles about how it does a little cha cha on the table when it's mixing up the the dough.

Jennifer: It's spring, how can they still be talking about snow? It's still unseasonably chilly here in Delaware. I'm getting very impatient for warm weather, as you are too I'm sure. Please take care of your back, ok? You'll need to rest it or else you could make it worse (take it from me, I've been there before!)

Deb: My dog is from the SPCA. We have no idea what she is. The vet seems to think that she definitely has German Shepherd and pit bull in there somewhere, but there could be something else. She is such a quiet sweet-natured dog, which is quite the opposite of what people commonly think about either breed. So you're an avid reader? With the internet, unfortunately I've gotten out of my book reading habit.

Shannon: Just be careful working with your horses the first time. Wrap yourself in bubble wrap or something - just don't get hurt!
