"Gee Your Hair Smells Terrific"

Who remembers the shampoo called "Gee Your Hair Smells Terrific"? You can still buy it too!

I also remember a soap that grew "hair" on it after you used it. Does anyone remember it and what was its name?

RE:

I remember that shampoo. I also remember a shampoo called "Body on Tap" which was made with beer.

I don't remember that soap, but GROSS!

RE:

I remember both!!! The soap was Fuzzy Wuzzy? (I think that was the name of it, anyway). Wasn't it shaped like a teddy bear? I had some of it when I was little.

I remember the Body on Tap shampoo, too.

Memories......

Yes, now that I think about it, the soap was called Fuzzy Wuzzy. I wish they would make it again. I think it would sell great.

Something else I remember is "Incredible Edibles". You would put this "goop" stuff in a mold and heat it up, then eat it. I can't remember if it tasted good, but it was fun!

I remember the shampoo and used it. It did seem to have a long lasting smell. I can't say that I remember a soap that grew hair. I vaguely remember the Body on Tap shampoo.

Kind of on the subject, my new favorite soap is the Tea Tree soap by Paul Mitchell. It has a very brisk, eye-opening scent that is great first thing in the morning or after a hard work-out.

I remember when Dorothy Hamil was famous there was a shampoo she plugged called "Short and Sassy".

My mother bought it to try and make me feel special after she had all my long hair cut off (she got tired of combing it).

RE:

I loved that shampoo! I also liked the henna one -- green in a clear bottle with an illustration of what to me looked like a nymph with long curls -- was it by Clairol?

Soap that grew hair? Kinda like a chia pet?:)

Talking of old cosmetic products, does anyone remember Maybelline's Dial-A-Lash?

RE:

I remember Dial-A-Lash! Loooooved it!

Whatever happened to Milk Plus 6? I loved that shampoo!

What shampoo were they advertising when the girl came on and said "and I told two friends, and they told two friends, and so on and so on..."

But, my absolute favorite commerical was the Wella Balsam commercial with Farrah! God! I wanted to have hair like hers!

"Farrah! God! I wanted to have hair like hers!"

But I bet you're glad you don't have a face like hers nowadays!;)

RE:

I remember all these that everyone has posted. The shampoo with the long-haired nymph on the front was the original Herbal Essence--it was the best! The one with the commercial about telling 2 friends and so on... was Faberge.

Remember Tickle deodorant? In the bright colors and the hourglass shape? It was my favorite!

RE:

I remember "Gee Your Hair Smells Terrific" and the cheesy commercial for it. Then again, I was young at the time so maybe it wasn't so cheesy.

I remember that shampoo. I use to use it and I loved the smell. I was in high school. I didn't know they still sold it.

RE:

do you guys remember "Flex" shampoo? I think Kim Bassenger advertised it! She had on a satin white western suit (if I remember correctly) and was skipping across the screen and the jingle was "Get STRONG Get Flexibility!" LOL! I remember that was about the time that I started seriously working out. It was probably in the early 80's.

I was thinking about the Dorothy Hamill and the Short and Sassy the other day when this thread was first started, too! I bought that shampoo, but my hair still did not do as good as hers!!

RE:

The more I think about it....I think the white western outfit was another commercial. Anyway.....I remember the shampoo, commercial and song....but think the outfit was different! My bad!!!

RE:

"That little itch could be telling you something."

Never has there been a worse commercial for stereotyping. I still can't scratch my head without worrying that someone's going to think I have dandruff. Ha ha!

RE:

I remember all of them! The "and I told two friends", etc. was some kind of honey shampoo. I used it some, it had a great smell.

Pinky! How are you? I haven't been cruising the forum too much lately, but I also know that when I have, I haven't seen any posts from you (of course, I may just be blind). It's good to see your name. I hope all is well, and not as hectic as earlier this year.

edited to add: I knew just what this thread was about just by seeing the topic.

RE: Lisa...

Lisa! Wonderful to "see" you around.:7 Man, do I miss you!

I've returned to the forum only recently. The last 5 months of 2004 were bad. Things are starting to turn around for the better and hopefully, it'll stay that way. Things were so bad that my husband insisted we go to Disneyworld for New Year's. So we did.:)

I hope everything is well on your end.

I remember them all too. The original Herbal Essence was...and is...fantastic. You can still buy it if you look hard. (Or order directly from Clairol.) I had completely forgotten about Milk Plus 6 until it was mentioned here!

I also remember the original Breck Shampoo & the Breck Girls. Giving away my age again! :p
