Good Morning Girls :)

Today I did DS 45 min. practice, which became a 40 min. practice, becuase I did not do the headstand. All my stuff was against the wall, I forgot to move it last night, and didn't want to start in the middle of the practice. I am really out of shape for yoga. My hip flexors were not flexable and some poses I had to modify! I think the last time I did yoga was when we did the X. So I definatly have room to grow with the yoga, and I know I will improve next week!!:p :7

Gin~ I hope you slept better last night. It must be so frustrating trying to find the right med. for your migraines!! Did you do BC with the cardio last today?

Marcy~Where to start?;-) Your measurements are wonderful!! Are you eating really clean? I am having a problem with bread lately~ I just cant seem to stop eating it!!!:) Luckily I don't think I've gained. Must be the heavy lifting. I lost my measuring tape and haven't measured me in a while. I didn't realize you had lost all that weight! Great job! I think inches make just as much an impact as weight loss too. You aren't trying to lose weight anymore are you? just inches.. What did you do today?

Tracee~ How was your workout today? Did you do yoga/pilates or stretch? It is cold by you!!! It was 55 yesterday and I had on my winter jacket and a sweater and 2 long sleeve t shirts!!...cold!

After work today I am off to try to find a hot air popper! we bought one from target and it broke in one month! The kids like to have it as a snack while doing thier homework at the kitchen table:)

Have a great day
BBL,

Deanie

Good Morning DMT!

Today was HIS/Shoulders, calves and core. I did the weights first, but if you guys do this option, the premix doesn't include the calf or core work, so I had to go back and do that before the stretch.
Now I have done all the new workouts except bis and tris which I will do tomorrow.
I have Jury Duty today. Hope I am not chosen. Maybe the note from my dr. will work.:)

Deanie--I didn't realize that you had not done yoga in so long. I did sleep better last night, but am still tired. I'll start the new meds today. Hope I am not as tired with the new stuff. I will do BC/tris and bis tomorrow but might do cardio first. ? Does the popcorn taste good air popped or do you add something to flavor it? I know that is the healthier way to do it.

Tracee--How cold is it there today? It is 47 here now, but Monday I was wearing sandals to work.

Marcy--Before you lost weight, where you exercising? When did you start Cathe?

Have a great day all!
Gin:)

Good Morning DGT!

I did Bootcamp/Bis & Tris this morning with the weights first premix. I was glad to see this had the whole workout in the right order. Here were my weights:

Tricep Overhead Extensions: 15, 20, 25, 31
Hammer Curl & Twist: 10s and 12s
Reg Curls - 15s and 23# (4 reps)(I couldn't make 20s for both arms so I tried it but it was definitely too heavy).
Bbl Lying Extensions: 36#
Dbbl Lying Extensions: 10# - These were much tougher than the barbell, especially the partials.
Crazy 8s with barbell - 36# (I was fine until she got to the last final slow 8 ct - I dropped it in one count)
Reverse Curls - 12#
Had no problem with the tricep dips on the ball and step but I can't wait until I get a high step. She seems to use the topper for everything even holding the ball in place.
Incline Hammer Curls on ball: 12#
Seated Hammer Curls on ball: 12#
I really felt the band work.
Hanging Concentration Curls - 20#
Wrist Curls - 10#

Bootcamp was intense for me (about just as intense as IMAX 3). On Drill 11, I didn't finish the last set of zig zags and on Drill 12, I didn't finish the last set with the 8 pushups. I just ran out of steam. I burned 371 calories although it was probably a little more as I shut my HRM off a little early right before the stretch.

Deanie - I am not eating as clean as I should although I'm not eating awful either. I sneak in a treat here and there almost everyday but don't go overboard. Heavy lifting really seems to help me with my measurements. I know I'm not ever going to weight what I did in HS (102) but I was hoping to get down to 115 (I don't know if that will ever be a reality either). I seem to hover for the most part between 122 and 125 throughout the month. I think if I just lose an inch in my thighs and a little in the gut, I'll be very happy. I need to not concentrate so much on the number on the scale. Good luck finding a popper! I love popcorn.

Gin - Hope you don't get chosen for jury duty. I don't know how it is in Texas, but in NY pretty much no one is exempt anymore and you have to have a really good reason why you can't serve. I started with Cathe on October 28, 2005. That's the first day I saw her on FitTV doing Rhythmic Step. I couldn't believe I finally found an advanced instructor on TV or anywhere for that matter. Before I lost weight I wasn't exercising on a regular basis except for line dancing once a week for a couple of hours. I didn't start strength training until Cathe (after my 40th birthday). I'm sorry I didn't start sooner. I danced heavily when I was younger up until the age of 18 and also did yoga then. I also did gymnastics in junior high. It's only 45 degrees here today and that's too cold for me.

Tracee - Hope you had a good workout today.

Marcy

Good afternoon everyone! Sounds like you are all enjoying Cathe's new workouts. I like them too and am always surprised when I read other posts that say they don't like them. I was reading over at the ya ya's site this morning. :)

The weather is almost identical to yesterday. It's cloudy, not as windy and 38 degrees. Yuck! I checked the weather in Florida and it is in the upper 70's and sunny all week. ;( I sure wish I was there right now.

Sorry for the short post but I've got to run.

Okay guys~ The announcement is up on the blog for the new workouts~The only thing I can say is....AMAZING!!! I absolutely can't wait!!!!!}( }(

Gin~ I hope you didn't get picked for jury duty! I will be doing LIS the same way as you: the premix and then add on core and calves. Which is better KB abs or LIS?

Marcy~ You are going to really LOVE these new workouts. I was hoping she was going to announce the boxing workout, but I am now happy to wait. I don't think I will be doing P90X in March, since this new workout will be done around then. I am up for doing it sooner though....any thoughts? Your weights today were impressive~31# for over head press!!! I was going to use 25# as my highest weight.

Tracee~ Who wouldn't like the new workouts??? I hope you have a nice day!!:)

Deanie

eta: I bought a 35#DB today for the plie squats for the new workouts.

Hi Deanie!

I figured you'd be impressed. Sounds like she put a lot of thought into this but I need a lot more details. Sounds a little like the X but not exactly. I'm also curious as to the price. It sounds like it's going to be expensive. But it sounds interesting about the new software - it spitting out cards to tell you exactly what weight you'll need for each exercise. I love that it's all heavy weight and it's nice there are 6 different ab routines. With the X, Ab Ripper X did get boring after awhile. Six months sounds like an awfully long time to commit to the same workouts - I was getting burned out after 3 months, so I'll have to see more details. The premixes sound interesting that there's new footage mixed with the old so at least that will make it more bearable. I'm kind of glad she's not doing the boxing now. I wasn't that interested in it anyway.

When did you want to start the X? I was really going to try and do all my other new workouts but I'll have to think about it. If I do the X, I might try and incorporate some of the new workouts. Did you buy the X yet?

Thanks for the compliment. You know me and triceps. I usually go heavier on them.

Congrats on getting your 35# db. I thought I was going to have major DOMS today in my tris but I was feeling worse yesterday. I'll be doing Kickbox abs tomorrow. LIS abs were good but I think I'm going to like Kickbox abs better. I'll let you know tomorrow. The bicycles in LIS were killer for me. LIS abs reminded me a lot of Ab Ripper X.

Marcy

Marcy~ With the new workouts coming, I'm not going to buy the X. I've got to pick and choose, and I am choosing Cathe. I know I would like the real X and get great results, I just can't spend the money for both Cathe and Tony. I think the new series is going to be pricy with 10 dvds. I will do a Faux X with you, with Cathe, and I could buy a chin up bar and do Chest and back from the X (you had printed out the excersises before~ I was going to print that out and follow it) I want to finish the Nov. rotation and then I could be up for the X.I think with this 4DS series it would be easy to do a faux X. The blog said you could do these new STS dvds for 3 or 6 months. I agree, 6 months is toooooo long for me also. I would do it for 3 though.

Anyway, I would be up to start in Dec. or Jan. I think that would give enough time to finish the rotation and have a break before starting STS.

Hi Again!

Marcy--Good job with your workout today! I did get excused from Jury Duty with my migraine note from the dr. I was in line with about 25-30 other people with various excuses who were all dismissed. Glad they aren't as strict as in NY!;-)
I may do BC cardio first tomorrow. I need to have a lot of energy to do the cardio!:p

Tracee--Florida weather sounds great. How about Hawaii? Even better!:+

Deanie--I looked at Cathe's announcement. Sounds like having a personal trainer. It is a little confusing and I would like to know more about it. I like both KB and LIS abs. Abs are probably my stongest part. (Not that they look like it though!)

Gin:)

ETA: Deanie--I missed the part about TEN dvds!!! YIKES!! $$$$$$

Hi Again!

The boards are really going to be buzzing again with the new announcement. I have to admit I am excited but I want a lot more details. I agree that I think this series is going to cost major bucks. I hope she has a really good presale price. I mentioned in Ask Cathe that I'd like the workout blender. To be able to choose up to 16 exercises is awesome. I only have one question: where's the cardio????

Deanie - I might be willing to start an X rotation in January. This way I could finish up the 4DS and probably do two weeks each of Amy and Tracey.

Gin - Thanks! You should try BC cardio with your HRM tomorrow. You'll see your heartrate soar! This cardio's intense so start storing up your energy now. Glad to see you got dismissed from jury duty. I'm sure that's a big relief.

Tracee - What do you think about STS?

Marcy
