Today was MIS. Tough workout!}( I was thinking MIS would be good to use as a leg workout option sometimes. I thought the legs were worked really good. Also, biceps were killer}( }( I wasn't sure what weights to use, because I haven't done this in forever, so I used what Cathe did for some and upped some:
Stats:
All leg work with 40# barbell
Bench press 40# both sets
Flies - Set 1 - 20#; Set 2 - 15#
1-arm rows - 20# both sets
Bbl Row - underhand and overhand - 40#
Rear Flyes - 10# set 1, 8# set 2
Bbl Upright Rows – 35#
Bbl Overhead Press – 35#
Lat Raises - 10# both sets
Crazy 8s - 30# -1st set; second set used 2-12#db!
Hammer curls - 12# 1st set
Alternating Hammers with twist - 12#
French Press - 30# (arms were SHAKIN’ from the bicep work and was worried about hitting myself in the head!!!):)
Overhead Press - 35#
Dips - 35# bbl
1-arm kickbacks - 10# both sets

Meals today:
(ate some hard pretzels at mahjong last night(a few). I followed what I posted yesterday, but had strawberries for dessert for dinner)
before workout: 2 egg whites (hard boiled eggs)
bfast: steal cut oatmeal with spray butter and 1/2tsp of brown sugar and an orange
snack: 1/2 a cliff builers protein bar
lunch:??? maybe an egg white omlete? and fruit
snack: hummus and 2 pitas (hooked on this for a snack:9 )
dinner:2 boca chicken patties and string beans and challah (but just one slice!!really!!) and a fruit
snack: either WW ice cream (2pts.) or puffins cereal

Gin~ Step blast today? did you do Ab hits #2? I was thinking of maybe doing SJP abs instead if I am pressed for time. I can totally understand your needing to rest yesterday, MIS is one tough workout! I hope all is okay for you today. I would think since you know the K. teacher you'd be working with, you'd have an edge for the job!:)

Marcy~ Are you sore from yesterday? Very impressive weight usage!!:) Hope all goes well with your house progress.

I was supposed to get highlights today, but last night the spring on the garage door broke, so I am now stuck in the house from 2-4 waiting on the repair guy!!x( Luckily, my friend who I work with passes my house in the morning, and will take me to work:D

Good Morning!

Today I did SB and Ab Hits #2. I had a blast! :eek: HRM said I burned 450 calories with both workouts. I have been quite tired lately and am ready for the weekend!

My present school has not hired a new director. The asst. director will take over until they hire someone else. It is so tough for me right now b/c I can't say anything about my possiblity of leaving until I know for sure.

Good Morning Chicas!

Today I did Willpower & Grace with Stacie Lei Krauss (one I got in a trade). What a deceptively challenging workout! I am sore all over. Even had to take Motrin already. It is a barefoot workout (just bodyweight) - kind of like Reach, Core Syn, yoga and stretch. Almost half is core work but not your standard crunches - in fact, no crunches at all - good, core stabilization and isometric work - planks. Also bridges and you had to squeeze your knees together - my glutes were really sore from that one. Lots of lunges and balance work. There was dynamic stretching in the beginning - she did one move where you circle your body around with your hands on your hips and she did it fast - she says you might start to get dizzy and I did but just for a second. My ribs are really sore right now. Then some cardio (about 20 minutes) - some plyo jumps but with all the dynamic movements, it got my HR up. The workout is 65 minutes - burned 262 calories. I'm actually not sure if I'm sore from yesterday's workout or today's or from yoga on Wednesday but I really need just a good intense stretch or a massage (unfortunately, I don't think I'm getting the massage!)

Food for the rest of yesterday:
There was a party at work for someone who got her master's degree. Of course, there was cake (which I had to have) but I did have a load of veggies (asparagus and yellow and red peppers - good but with dip - bad)
Then they celebrated my birthday along with a few others at dancing - my girlfriend got me a small cake but there was so much other stuff there she told me just to take it home so I just had a small cupcake.
I was better this morning:

Egg whites and one egg with spinach and green peppers (made with Pam) and WW toast with ICBINB spray.
Snack: Fiber One Bar
Lunch: Healthy Choice Chicken Chardonnay
Snack: Almonds, Cashews & Apricots
Dinner: Probably pizza (it's Friday)

After April, all birthdays are over for many months so I don't think I'll be having cake for awhile. Hopefully my eating will get better after I move. My pants have gotten a little tighter. :(

I'll be doing a yoga/cardio rotation starting Monday. At least I'll be doing fun workouts.

Deanie - Thanks. Sounds like we had a pretty similar workout with MIS. I also thought the bicep work was tough. Her bicep work is always tough for me. Sorry about your garage door. Hope it gets fixed without a problem. With all this talk of highlights, I might have to get mine done too. I was planning on possibly getting my haircut this weekend.

Deanie - Did you see the new blog picture of Meso 3? I like the outfits and I think they all look great! I probably won't be doing Meso 3 legs - will probably do the weighted vest option (another thing to add to my equipment wish list). Although I will do the deadlifts - love 'em.

Yes, I was thinking of doing the weighted vest option too! (no squat rack for me!) This STS series is costing me a lot of money!!

Forgot to mention-- I used the perfect pushup today for the first set of 16 pushups and hated it!!!! My wrists actually were bothering me during the pushups!! And I had to concentrate on which way the stupid things were supposed to go! I think I would have been better of using the stable pushup helper thingy like Tony uses.:eek: x( :)

Deanie - Sorry the perfect pushup didn't work out for you. Things always look better on those infomercials. Cathe uses the pushup stands like Tony. In fact, I think she used them in MIS.

STS looks like its going to cost money for me too - I finally have to get the regular Club Step so I can get extra risers and use it as a weight bench, the weighted vest, an 8# medicine ball, and 12, 15, 20, 25 and 30# dbbls (at least I have the Door Gym already for pullups - I hope it fits in my doorway!)

It might take awhile before I get started with an STS rotation. Maybe I'll be able to get a few things before STS arrives. I probably have another 2-3 months.

My buyer finally ordered the title search on my house. Mtg broker says things are looking great but she STILL hasn't closed on her house yet. He tried to push her along saying she doesn't want to lose the house so it's better to get the money ASAP. She had to agree with him. I'm waiting for a call from my atty and I'm going to have him try and call to get some answers. I can't wait anymore.

The volcano experiment was a hit. It always is. They love it and get so excited.
Did I read they are 95% through with STS filming? I have been keeping track and they must not have posted pics yet from all workouts filmed. I haven't seen Meso#1 Back and Triceps, Meso #2 Ch, Sh and Tris and Meso #3Bis and Tris or Legs and Sh.
I will never own a squat rack, but weighted vest? hmmm? When did you buy the Perfect Pushups? Sorry you don't like them. We gave some to ds and I tried them out before he went back to school. I liked. I would like an 8# med. ball and lifting gloves.
Did you get your garage door repaired?

Hi Again!

Gin - Thanks. Yes, I will be resting this weekend but will hopefully get a Stretch Max in. It took a couple of hours but the pain finally subsided this morning. My atty is calling my buyer's buyer's atty to see what the holdup is with the closing of her house. This is a nightmare! I'm going to have to tell them by next Friday but I want a firm closing date before I do that. My DH wants to leave work a week before me so he should have given notice today but we're nervous about giving a firm date without confirmation. What's on tap for this weekend?

You've really been keeping a close eye on the blog pictures - I didn't have a clue which ones were missing.

I am planning on walking with a friend in the morning and then DS yoga. We are going to a wedding tomorrow night. This is a former friend and co-worker's daughter. We were good friends (the mom) and I haven't seen her in a while. Looking forward to it.
I am embarrsasingly obessesive compulsive and have kept track of all of the Cathe workouts filmed so far. Wouldn't tell most people this. I also log all of my workouts in a journal. Crazy! Just call me cuckoo and nerdy!!:eek:

Hi guys!

Garage door is fixed!!!:) It was actually the springs holding the door, the door itself is okay. We had to replace the springs, cables and pullies. Also, he told us the garage door opener only has about 4-6 months left, so we will probably get a new opener later this month.

Gin~ wow! you really know your blog pictures!LOL I can't wait to see them too! I bought the perfect pushups a coulple of months ago. I did get a free $10.00 gift card to target when I bought them(and I got my Target discount on them too) I bought them because I saw Cathe using them (had them next to her) on the blog- during a practice. Glad the volcano was a hit:) I have an 8# med ball I bought when I got BC/ME.

Marcy~ Sorry your buyer situation is such a nightmare!! But on the bright side, I'm glad your feeling better.

eta: Gin~ (posting at the same time) I log my workouts in a notebook, and I print out the rotations and at the end make notes (i.e.- good or nogood):+ Have fun at the wedding.
 
Gin - I also log all my workouts; take my measurements (usually every month) - really should do it tonight; didn't take April's yet (although I'm probably scared to know the results.) I'm 1.5 lbs more than last month for starters.
