Good Morning Girls :)

Today my DS11 and DH come home from the 6th grade outdoor education. They were at Lake Summit for 3 days, DH was a chaperone. There was no cell reception, and we've never gone so long without talking to each other: I miss them.

Okay, Today was LIS. So far my favorite workout!! The shoulder work was great. I matched Cathe with all the weights and reps, I thought it was hard and I'm pretty sure I will be feeling it later. Since I had done the cardio last week, I was really able to go full out and enjoy and work hard with it this time:) I thought the abs were good, but I think I like KB abs better.

Gin~ How was BC today? Were you able to get thru the drills after the weight work? I do BC tomorrow.

Marcy~ What did you do today? I set up for tomorrow, and put the 30# DB out for overhead tri press, but I'm not surex( if I'll do it!! You always give me something to work towards:7 I don't know if you saw my last post yesterday, but I'm good for Jan. P90X rotation. I'm sorry this threw a wrench in our plans, but I just can't spend the extra $$ right now:(

Tracee~ I hope you had a good day yesterday. Did you see the blog announcement? What did you do today?

chapters: cardio thur cooldown
chapters: abs and stretch
I didn't want to be down on the floor for abs and then have to get up and do cardio!
 
Good Morning DMT!

Last night I took the new daily migraine preventative and I could not get out of bed this morning when the alarm went off. So exhausted plus I had a headache. I took headache meds, felt a little better and had time for 4ds Bis and Tris. Good workout...I liked!:) I am not able to go up to 20#, but took my 15# and added my 2# ankle weights. I'm going to a late lunch with a friend after school, but am hoping I'll feel like doing BC this aft. Send good vibes my way. I WANT to do it!x( I can do anything for 34 minutes, right?;-)

Deanie--Good job with the LIS workout! I thought my shoulders would be sore today, but my tris were!?! I'll bet you will be glad to see your "boys" today!!

Marcy--You guys will have to guide me in what to do when you are doing the x!! I'll be lost!!:eek:

Tracee--What did you do today? What do you think about the blog announcement?

Hi GMD! Today was LIS with shoulders, core and abs. Like Deanie, this is my favorite so far. I've got the routine down now so that doesn't hold me back. I liked the shoulder routine although I think it's going to take me a couple of weeks before I can match Cathe on the first exercise. I could only do about 5 reps with the 15's. I also think I like KB abs better than these. I didn't like those reverse bicycles because they feel so awkward. When she said to go faster, I laughed and said that I was already going as fast as I could go without getting all out of sync.

Deanie - Have fun with your reunion with half the family. That would be weird to not be able to talk to them for 3 days. I love having time alone but I also like knowing that I can talk to dh or ds anytime I want.

Gin - I sure hope you get all your medicine stuff figured out soon. That must be just awful. I'm impressed that you were able to do a little workout still.

Marcy - What was on your schedule today?

I read through the blog update real quickly last night and I think it's going to be good. I'm a little worried about the cost because I'm not sitting very well financially at the moment. So that is going to be the only thing that prevents me from getting this one. We'll have to see how things are going when she gets all the details set. I really would hate to miss out on this one.

I have more stressful stuff going on now with ds#2. We've always known that he struggles in school but I thought he had finally caught up and was doing okay. I met with his teacher last night and she wants him to get extra help. He's just not clicking with the work and she sees that he has anxiety when it comes to doing most of the work. It's definitely not a surprise to me but since she hadn't said anything before now I assumed he was doing just fine.

Good Morning DGT!

I just had to say I did the Catheite challenge yesterday and I had NO JUNK FOOD!

I had an intense workout this morning. I did Amy Bento's Slo Mo Challenge for legs. This leg workout is totally different than any other I've done. And you'll never believe it, but I went heavy for a change! I did the 2X legs premix. Here are my stats:

Sumo Squats - 2 sets 50#
Jefferson Squats (use 1 dbbl in front of you) - 2 sets @ 25# - I'll go lower next time. My legs weren't bad but my arm felt like it was going to fall off.
Cradle Side Lunge - 1 set each side - 40# (it was supposed to be 2 sets). I think my premix was messed up.
Wobble Hack Squats - 10# - 2 sets
Hammy Rockers - one leg on the step - kind of like a forward lunge into a deadlift (I definitely felt these in my hamstrings)
Glute Wrap - you wrap one leg around a 20# barbell and lift the leg (balance and a strong core is required)
Single Leg Rock-Up Squats on the ball - 15# dbbl - this was the hardest exercise for me. You're supposed to be able to lift your butt up off the ball but mine wasn't budging. Then I saw a couple of the background exercisers only had their toes on the ground instead of the whole foot and that made things easier but it was still very challenging. This was felt in the glutes.
She also did some good in-between stretches but I didn't do her final stretch because I then went on to Cathe's kickboxing. I really liked it. Thought the warmup was really good. Liked the crescent kicks. I was just a little disappointed there was only one combo which I liked but was also a little bummed because she didn't include legs in the combo. There was some good standing ab work. I also did the core routine and I think I like this one better. This one was somewhat challenging.

Deanie - LIS may be my favorite workout as well. Pure fun, had a little bit of everything. I'll let you know about Jan. I did LIS the exact same way you did. I didn't want to get back up off the floor either. Hope you have a nice reunion with your "boys". I'm sure you missed them but wasn't it nice to have some "me" time?

Gin - Sending good vibes your way!:) :p Hope you feel better soon. We'll dream up something good for you during X time. I hope you have enough energy this afternoon for BC. If you have to, just modify a bit. I hate to enable, but you might want to consider Slo Mo. I still have to do the rest of upper body and core but for $20 you get the whole series and 8 premixes.

Tracee - Hope things are okay. How's things with DS? Any thoughts on the blog annoucement? Were you able to workout today?

Gin~ I am sorry to hear about the problems with your meds:( I hope you get things figured out soon without too much of a hassle. I hope you get BC in, although for me, afternoon workouts are so hard!! for a new faux X, with Marcys help, I was thinking of using the new series for 99% of the work. With the premixes it should be easy to do. Also for Chest and Back, I am going to get a bar to put in my door way, and do all the excersises from the X and not use a dvd. I'll see how it goes the first time like that, and if it doesn't work, we can use Cathes new dvd for chest and back work. Are you in for Jan. if Marcy is in?

Tracee~ I am so sorry to hear about your stuff with DS#2. Hopefully things can be fixed with extra help. In school these days (at least here) they just don't give the kids enough time to get a "concept" they move on so quickly. If your kids don't get the concept right away, they are lost! Its so horrible for the kids!! I also think (on a personal note) they teach for girls. Boys and girls learn differently and I think we swung to far to the right, in trying to help the girls and now we have excluded the boys. I feel exactly like you about the alone time thing. I really missed not talking to my boys!!!DH just called~ they are on their way home and had a great time:7 :7

Marcy~ WOW!! I can't believe you went heavy for legs! Good thing I'm sitting down:+ LOL!! I really like the new KB. One of the reasons is because Cathe does arms and legs seperate. The combos got old fast for me when you do arms then legs then put them all together.

Hi Tracee!

I'm sorry I missed your post. I guess by the time I finished typing, yours came up in between. So sorry to hear about your troubles with DS. I hate it when a couple of months go by before they say anything and then you wonder how they're going to catch up with everything. Since my DS had so many problems, I used to have the teacher fill out a short daily progress report which I made up and they could check off the boxes and write in a comment. This helped a lot. When I showed it to my DS's psychiatrist, he was very impressed.

I couldn't get any faster on those reverse bicycles either or finish them for that matter!

Hi Again!

I'm sure that I have missed you all, but am just now able to get on again. I really do plan to do BC in a minute.:eek: I don't like working out in the aft, but I was so mad to have missed it this morning. I am determined. I feel better now.

Tracee--So sorry you are having concerns about your son! Is there extra help at school that he can get or does he need to go to a tutor outside of school? I'll bet that he will feel better and have more confidence when he understands the work. I'm thinking of you both!
I agree with you about the bicycle move. It doesn't quite feel natural.

Marcy--Congrats on the no junk food day! Glad you liked Amy Bento's Slo Mo leg workout. I'll have to look into that one.

Deanie--I forgot that you aren't buying p90x now. I'll do the same rotation as you come up with. ( with much lighter weights, of course!;-) )
When my boys were about 12 and 15, they went with DH on a rafting trip to Oregon for a week. They had a great time, but I missed them so much. Did not like being alone.
We go to see 20 year old this weekend for college Parent's Weekend. Can't wait. I miss him!
