Good Morning :)

Today is Grade A thursday :) because my DS11's final grade in Social Studies is an A. He started with an E so this was a great achievment!

I hope everyone had a great Halloween. Ours was fun, fun, fun!!

Today was PS Chest, Shoulders and Tri. I know I've said it before, but I really think this series is underrated. I actually like it better than GS!!

I don't have time to list all my weights but I did the bench press at 60# and 2 of the sets I did 10 reps. Last week was 60# at 8 reps each. Also, incline chess press I did at 25#/10 reps (20# last week) and for triceps the close grip press I did 17# all 3 sets(15# last week).

Gin~ How'd you do today? I agree with your assessment of LIS/HIS. I don't think its as intense, but it was challenging and I was sweaty.

Marcy~ What's on your game plan today? Are you doing the no sweets challenge today? The day after Halloween is to hard for me, so I'm not doing it.

Tracee~ I hope you had a very happy Halloween!!!! Do you go around to the houses with your kids or your DH or both? Both myDH and I go, and we leave candy in a basket out for kids. Last night there was still some candy left in the basket when we got home. The first year we did that we came back like 20 min. after we set out (DS need to use the bathroom) and all the candy was gone!!:)

Have a great day all!
DSs are coming to school with me today. No school for them!

BBL,

Good Morning!

Today was also PS CS and T for me. I am quite the wimp when it comes to weights compared to Deanie (Queen of the Heavy Weights!) but I do what I can!:p
Hope everyone had a safe and Happy Halloween. We had so many trick or treaters here that I ran out of candy by 8pm and we started with a huge bowl full.
What are you guys planning to do Fri-Sun before we start the new rotation? Not sure I want to do any of the 4ds between now and then.

Deanie--Congrats to your ds for the A!! Hope all goes well taking your sons to school with you. I bet they like it.

Tracee--How is your son doing?

Marcy--What did you do today?

Have a great day!
Gin:)

Good morning girls.

Today turned in to a sleep day. I had a little too much to drink last night and woke up early and I was dehydrated. So I drank a bunch of water and went back to bed. If I get a chance tonight I'll probably do the same workout you girls did, PS CS&T.

Halloween was fun last night. We invite two other families over and the kids get to go out together. My dh went out with the kids this year and stayed home and passed out candy. I didn't have one piece of candy yesterday. I didn't purposely not eat any but it just turned out that way. I did however have a cinnamon breadstick after dinner so I'm sure that is just as bad as a piece of candy.

Deanie - I can't believe you actually had candy left in the bowl when you got back. I always thought people saw a bowl sitting out like that and took the whole thing. Congrats to your ds for the A especially after starting out with an E. That's a lot of progress!!

Gin - I haven't really figured out what I'm going to do before the new rotation. Possibly a yoga or pilates and maybe another lite cardio.

I'm excited about the new rotation. I think this is the first time I've seen Cathe put two rest days a week into her rotations. WOW! This one has my name written all over it!

Have a good day.

Good Morning Ladies!

Hope you all had a great Halloween. Today I did Eoin Finn's Power Yoga for Happiness (Full Bliss = 80 mins.) I really liked this one. It's great for hip openers and I did a new arm balance today (firefly pose). Here's a link: http://www.yogajournal.com/poses/2470. I also did ab work from S&H Bis and Tris.

I also previewed my new Amy's. I can say that Amy is definitely giving Cathe some stiff competition with this series. The first is Slo Mo Challenge (a 3 day split). I really liked the legs (I know you say, Marcy like heavy weight, legs? but she did new exercises I've never done before - there were Jefferson Squats, hammy rockers, sumo squats, a glute wrap (my favorite exercise - you wrap a barbell around your foot and pulse up in attitude (if you guys know what the pretzel move is on the floor, it's like a standing pretzel move). I looked only a little at the rest of the body parts but will try and let you know about those another time. Advanced Step Challenge 2 is more complex than both of Cathe's step in 4DS but it's athletic complexity. She adds a power up section at the end (it's like Cathe's intervals). I thought her first one was more dancy complex. She then did a hi/lo workout (fast paced), just as good as her first. She then does a sculpting workout on the BOSU.

Deanie - Congrats on DSs A!:) That's quite an accomplishment. Great work on PS today! I will be giving these another chance one day but I have so much to keep me busy, it will unfortunately be awhile. I already failed at the no sweets challenge. I had a peanut butter cup. I had a good breakfast though and a banana. We didn't have anyone at the house. Our block is kind of at a dead end and there are no more kids on my block anymore. Hope your DSs enjoy "school" again with you today.

Gin - I might just do yoga or pilates on the weekend or might fit in a little cardio. I actually took a look at Shimmy last night (a new show on Fit TV). I've always wanted to try belly dancing. I did about 15 minutes. It was just some basic moves but I definitely see how you could get a flat stomach from this. Lots of isolations - shoulder shimmies, hip rolls, etc. I have a couple of more taped so I'll try and fit these in over the weekend.

Tracee - Good for you on holding back on that candy! Sounds like you had a fun night. I'm with you, this rotation has my name written on it too! 5 days with heavy lifting and yoga. What more could I ask for?

Marcy

Hi guys!

Gin~ I will be doing BC from the 4 day split tomorrow. I was supposed to do it the day I got sick, so I haven't done it yet and want to do it once before the rotation. On Sat. I will do the treadmill HIIT and B&G abs. I did the KC4DS abs today (forgot to mention before) I really liked them, they were tough!! What will you be doing? and are you starting on Sunday or Monday? My kids do like to come to school with me, and my older DS earns community service hours.

Marcy~ Wow! cool new pose! I will be doing DS 45 min. practice for the yoga next rotation. I keep trying others and I always end up coming back to him. But I like your descriptions! I love PB cups! They are my one weakness I really CAN'T pass up!:p

Tracee~ Last night sounds fun! We did that one year, met up with other couples, had dinner and then trick or treated. Actually, the cinamon breadstick sounds good, I love breads!!

I assumed we were starting the new rotation on Monday. Is that good for everyone?

Deanie

O.M.G.!! I just re-read my post~.... Only one smilie!!! This may be a record for me!!!!!LOL

Good Afternoon!

Deanie - I was planning on starting Monday. DS yoga sounds good. I will probably try to do his 2nd series again. I feel more flexible and stronger since the last time I tried it during the X rotation. His is the most challenging yoga I've done. I also have his A&B series which I haven't even opened yet but I know that's going to be way beyond my capabilities right now. I never used to like PB cups as a kid but my DS always liked them and I guess they've grown on me. At least they fill me up - I only had to have one.

Glad you liked KC4DS abs. So how intense is the kickbox compared to KPC and KM?

Marcy

Marcy~ I didn't know DS has an A and B series. Is it new and is it more intense/harder than his 1st series? I think I would compare the new kickbox to a cross between KPC and CK drills. I don't think its anything like KM (which you know is my least favorite kickbox) i will be starting the rotation on Monday too. Also, I am very impressed that you did the firefly pose! that must take great ab and upperbody strength! How long did you hold it for? Sometimes I am "in the zone" and I do a pose; and then I'm so excited I'm doing it, I lose it!!LOL:)

Deanie

The A&B series is, I believe, more advanced than the 2nd & 3rd Series (and those are really advanced). When I started to do it, I didn't realize what pose I was getting into until it was over. I only held it a few seconds but it was real nice. It did say on Yoga Journal that the firefly poise takes more core than upper body strength so I guess my core is getting real strong. I also did crow without too much of a problem. Shiva Rea does this one http://www.yogajournal.com/poses/2479 in Yoga Shakti. I'd still like to get David's first series since that is what's supposed to lead up to the 2nd and 3rd series. Each series leads up to the next one. I found it a couple of times on ebay but the bidding got too high for me. I know what you mean about "losing it". I need to remind myself to stay focused.

Marcy

Hi Again!

We had an Appreciation Lunch after school for working on the NAEYC accreditation and then I am going to dinner tonight with friends!:p :9

Tracee--Sounds as if you had a good Halloween! My all time favorite candy is Butterfinger....oh yum-o! I did not buy them, but had one at school.

Marcy--Were you able to do the Firefly pose?? If so, I now crown you The Yoga Queen!!}( My yoga instructor did the second pose you printed and we all just looked at her like she was crazy to think that the rest of us could do it too!!
We have FitTV for the next few weeks during football season. Of course, since it came with the package for DH. I'll have to look for the Shimmy show. I took belly dancing in high school with a friend. Don't remember much ,though.
The new KB is high on fun factor and goes by so fast since it is only 30 min.

Deanie--I plan on starting new rotation on Sunday. Sorry. I don't know why I like to start on Sunday. I'll probably do a cardio Sat (surprise!) and also add a fun cardio (surprise again! ;-) ) on one of the rest days during the rotation.
Glad your dss liked going to school with you. Mine always did too.

Gin:)

Hi Again!

Gin - Enjoy your dinner! When Shiva did the second pose, I sat staring at the screen. That one's going to take me a while. Thank you for my crowning:) Let me know what you think of Shimmy. The narrator sounds like the same one from Namaste Yoga. It's going to be awhile before my hips shake like theirs do. It always feels wierd after taking ballet for so many years and holding positions to just let loose.

Marcy

Marcy - I've seen that Shimmy show and I agree I think it's by the same narrator. I'm not much of a dancer so the Shimmy show didn't hold my interest for too long.

Deanie - you must be going through smilie withdrawal. ha! I plan on starting the new rotation on Monday also. We're going to have to find a way to get Gin to conform to our Monday start days. ;-)

Gin - enjoy your dinner. I think I'm going to end up with a whole family asking me what's for dinner.

Well, I'm about to leave work so have a good evening.
