Good Morning

Today was LIC. Wow was the sweat pouring off me!!!(hope that's not to much info!) Great workout, loved the abs-- especially the planks at the end.

I was all set to buy the green top Cathe is wearing in the blog, but you need a bra under it, so I passed :(. I like the workout tops that have the bra "built in". So much easier;-) I also talked myself out of the squat rack. The exercises in the blog look really good; I think I will try these excersises first. I am positive they will get good results!

Gin~ Did you end up doing BM2? When she asks in the warmup "if your ready for a 90 min. workout" I always answer NO! that is just way to long for me. I like the bootcamp premix though... How are you holding up with the boys??? Having fun I hope!

Marcy~ Yoga? Muscle Endurance? Fun? LOL! I may revisit the whole 1RM thing for next month, but I have a busy day today so I'm not sure. I do think after all the heavy lifting the last couple of months I will be able to redo some of my weight selections in Pyramids and S&H:). You should not have a problem getting a job if you are near a big city:)

Busy day today after school: The kids have rediscovered Tintin (used to read all the time, then stopped) and want to get to the library to get more Tintin books, Rita's Ice's is offering free ices today (first day of spring) So we will be going there, and we are baking hammantashin (cookies for Purim) tonight! Plus I have Mahjong at 8pm! Good thing we are off tommorrow!!:7

Have a Great day!!!

Good Morning!

Woke up too late to workout. I'm off to take nephews to the airport and plan to do BM2 this aft. I'll report back later to let you know that I survived the 90 min.!!:p

Gotta run.
BBL,
Gin:)

Good Morning!

Wanted to do David's First Series but woke up too late so only had time for Eoin's Power Yoga for Happiness Daily Dose of Bliss for 40 mins. Tonight's line dancing. Will be off tomorrow for Good Friday. Did one close grip pullup today.

Deanie - Sounds like you have a fun day planned. Hope you have a great vacation! I made my changes to the June '07 rotation but will be waiting for Cathe's. I was also wondering whether or not to do circuits 3 days a week, yoga and one day of cardio. I have to think about it.

Gin - Hope you make it through BM2.

Have a great day!

Marcy

Deanie - I saw you commented in the paper plates thread. I have to tell you I also use them with Mindy Mylrea and you do get more range of motion and get deeper in the movements. I use them for abs and legs and I really feel the difference.

I also saw someone else had the same question as us about the 1RM increasing as you finish each mesocyle (or before as the case may be). No one has answered yet.

How long will you be away? Will be able to check in?

Marcy

Good Afternoon Girls!

I may have missed you all, but wanted to let you know.... I survived the 100 min. of BM2 and I am a sweaty mess!:p HRM says I burned 600 calories!! Cardio fun, weights tough!
Took my nephews back to airport and it was tough for me to say goodbye. They are sweet boys and I got so used to having them around! This was the first time for them to fly alone, so maybe they will come back by themselves in the summer.
I ordered the Rehearsal Dinner invitations today. They are so cute. Well, I think so anyway!

Marcy--Enjoy line dancing tonight! WTG on the close grip pullup!}( I hope you will join us on some of the April rotation!

Deanie--Enjoy your fun, busy day today. I also wondered if you would be able to check-in next week and when you will be back. We will miss you, if you aren't able to check-in at all!:( If you have time, can you give me an idea of your 1 RM? Do you test each muscle group or each different exercise? How can you do STS without some kind of PlateMates? Enjoy Mahjong tonight!

Gin:)

Hey Gin!

I'm still here but leaving shortly. The last time I did BM2 in its entirety I burned 795 calories but with your low heartrate, 600 is about right. I'm definitely a sweaty mess after that one too.

I will try and join you guys for part of the April rotation. I think you would have to test each muscle group and probably each exercise in each muscle group since you don't always use the same weight in each muscle group. I will be needing the Platemates for sure. I can make lots of different weight combinations now but sometimes I have to hold two dumbbells which is awkward and sometimes bothers my wrists.

Deanie - Hope you win at Mah Jongg tonight!

Marcy

Good Afternoon
I probably missed you all, but I was sooooo busy, this is the first time I've had all day to sit down, and its only because the cookies are in the oven!

Marcy~WTG on the pullups! Its a good thing I was sitting down, when I read YOU may do 3 days a week circuits!!! You are the heavy lifting girl!;-) I do think mixing it up (strength, endurance) is the way to go. Have fun line dancing tonight!!

Gin~ WTG on 100min of BM2!!}( I like the weight work, and I like the cardio (esp. Jessies girl) but not together! Did you use an 8" step? I did today and I felt like I got an extra leg workout. I'm glad you liked the invitations for the dinner. It will be here sooner than you know! How excited are you??:) :)

Here is an example of my 1RM- 30# for 8 reps for bench press.
I enter that info into the chart and it tells me my %ages:
70% of my 1RM = 26#
75% of my 1RM = 28#
80% of my 1RM = 30#
85% of my 1RM = 31#
90% of my 1RM = 33#
Then you apply that info for whatever type of training your doing:

Muscle Endurance: 60% to 70% 0f 1RM (use for 12 to 15 reps)

Hypertrophy: 70% to 80% of 1RM (use for 8 to 12reps)

Strength: 80% to 90% of 1RM (use for 4 to 8 reps)

I'm not quite sure how to do it for the Pyramids and S&H, so I may bag the whole thing and wait for the workout manager software from Cathe. This is what SNM recommended:

For Pyramids, If you want to do the video exactly as is and want to know exactly what 1RM to use, just count the reps. If the reps are 10 you would want to use a 1RM in the hypertrophy range of 70% to 80%.

Slow and Heavy will be a little more difficult to get right because of the tempo, but around 75% to 85% of 1RM is what I would recomend.

If I figure it out I'll let you know:+

When I'm in Florida I will be at my parents. They don't always turn the computer on, but I will try to check in when I can. I will miss you guys and checking in!!! I don't think I will be working out at all, but I think my body may thank me for that. I think this months rotation, even though it was only 3 weeks, was hard!

Okay, I'm sure I've missed you and I've written the great American novel:7 --- Have a great evening!

Deanie:*

eta: I think you will need platemates or plate weights for STS. I also have a hard time holding the 2 db in my hand to up my weights in smaller increments.
Okay, I'm really going now, Can't believe all I wrote!:p
