Fright Night - The Movie

Okay, since Halloween's coming up in a month, I'm getting all psyched up! Halloween is my favorite holiday (I like it even more than Christmas).

So, I'm really excited about something! For the past 10 years or so, I've looked for the soundtrack to the movie Fright Night (early 80's vampire movie). With Halloween approaching, a few weeks ago, I got a bug up my booty to try searching for it again. Except this time, I finally clued in that I should check ebay. Lo and behold - I found a few copies listed (very expensive since the soundtrack has been out of production for years). Long story short: I was able to get my hands on one. It arrived yesterday and I can't be more pleased with it! I listened to it last night and I'm listening to it now!

So, I'm just wanting to share my excitement at having finally attained this rare CD! For a CD collector like me, this is great!

That's great!
Last year, our secretary found a site that had halloween songs (as well as others) that she played for us. A lot of them were movie themes, and when she played some of them (like Halloween), it gave me the creeps! (Of course, I had to turn off the office light to get the mood right...that made it extra creepy!).

Catwoman,

I had that tape for a long time before CD's came out of course. When I got married and moving out, I couldn't find it. I use to listen to it over and over again. I loved the movie and watched it several times. The music draws you in like the movie...very hypnotic! I am so glad you got a copy of it. I can still remember the music and hope you enjoy it!

Yes, I just love the music! I can't believe I never thought of looking on ebay before now!!! Duh!

The music is very hypnotic! If you still want a copy, check out ebay. There is one seller who lists it as a "buy now" for $40, but if you have to bid for it, you could easily pay over $100. I got mine from the $40 seller! :) If you're interested, I can go look up the seller and email you so you can keep an eye out for it and get another copy!

By the way, the CD has all the movie score songs, too, not just the songs with lyrics. There's 28 songs in total on the CD. I'm pretty sure it's a copy/reproduction, but the sound quality is fantastic.

Catwoman, is the main song of the movie (the hypnotic song that's playing all the time, especially when Jerry Dandridge is seducing a woman) just like it is in the movie, or does it have lyrics? I found this song on the internet, but it had lyrics sung by a man with a terrible voice. If you tell me its without lyrics, I'm buying it right now...

Thank you so much for posting this! Fright Night has always been my favorite horror movie, and I'm a huge horror buff!

That songs is on this CD several times, and only one has lyrics. There's the version where Dandridge is seducing a woman in the window; there's the version where he's with Amy in front of the fireplace, and a couple of other lyric-less versions from other parts of the movie. I LOVE that song!!!! It's one reason why I wanted the CD.

So, go buy it now!!! I got mine from a seller named "bluejazzlily" and I'm very pleased with the CD. She/He has one on ebay right now at a price of $36.00 and I know this seller sends out a top quality product. I don't know about the other sellers. There's a CD bidding right now at $20.00 with about an hour left on the auction, but if you don't mind paying a little more for bluejazzlily's, I don't think you will regret it.

Stay away from saxonheavymetal's listing on ebay. He's a snake. He's in Great Britain, too...so you have to contend with the exchange rate on your payment.

Okay, so I'm hijacking my own thread, but future fitness dynamo, since you're such a huge horror fan like me, I have to ask you this: Have you ever seen John Carpenter's The Thing? I will flip out if you have! I think this movie is the scariest movie I've ever seen (except I haven't seen some of the more recent horror flicks, yet...so I might have to change my mind once I see a movie like "The Exorcism of Emily Rose", which gave me the chills just from the commercials). At any rate, I'm a "Thing" freak! Drives my husband nuts! :7 I was ecstatic when I found the soundtrack for The Thing on ebay, too!!

Okay, and how 'bout "The Lost Boys"? If you like Fright Night, you certainly have to like The Lost Boys! Two of the greatest vampire flicks ever made!

Okay, I need to calm down! I'm getting into a horror movie frenzy here! :7 :7

THE LOST BOYS IS MY FAVORITE VAMPIRE MOVIE OF ALL TIME!!!! DH and I saw it at Best Buy last night and almost bought it, and I am now beating myself for not buying it! I love the chant, "Michael, Michael, Michael, Michael" and it freaks me out everytime I hear it! I am feeling your energy, catwoman, because I am getting excited too!!! We watch about 20 scary movies during October becuase we LOVE LOVE LOVE Halloween, too! It is better than Christmas because you don't have to sit in traffic or wait in any long lines and you get to dress crazy! :+

Catwoman,

I have not seen The Thing! I am always eager to check out new horror flicks, since I've seen so many. I will order it from Netflix right now!

Yes, I have seen Lost Boys and love this movie as well. Its another great Vampire movie with a great soundtrack. Hmm, there seems to be a correlation between movies I like and music.

Have you seen the Exorcist (since you mentioned exorcism movies)? I would like to see the Exorcism of Emily Rose too but my fiancee is put off by the mediocre reviews. Tell me what you think if you see it!

I saw parts of The Exorcist, but never saw the whole thing. I suppose I will have to break down and see it someday if I am to call myself a true horror movie fan, though. :)
