Friday Fun! Tell us something....

Wow...some amazing talents here! During college I had a unique job. I was going to a large Midwestern university. Before the medical students went through their Ob/Gyn rotation, they had to learn how to do gyn exams on "dummy" patients so that they were comfortable doing the exam on real patients. I was one of those dummy patients! I made $25/hour, which was a ton of money for a poor undergraduate in the late 80's! I only worked about 4 hours per week, so it was a great job to have. But I could only work 3 out of 4 weeks per month...the 4th week I was out of commission so to speak :)

Alright Joni, that's just GROSS! ;) You are soooo lucky that YOU got the fingernail and not someone else. They would have been like "Man, what's this crunchy thing?"

Oh but a Blood Orange Cheesecake sounds soooo good! I'd eat something you cooked, but I'd have to check your fingers first. ;)

LOL!!!!! Oh, my gosh! Wow! I am so....speechless! So, um..... how was it? I mean, not like that, I mean.....what do I mean? well, I bet your modesty was all shot to you know where. You are so brave, SO brave. I only let people who know what they are doing in my vagina. You are SO brave. So, so brave.

Hmmmm....let me see.

I lived in Saudi Arabia, and absolutely loved it. (not very PC to say these days!!)

When I am home alone I secretly watch "Elima-date." :p

Um, Missy? How can you tell if people know what they are doing when they're in your vagina before they get in there?

I could never in a million years lie there with a straight face in stirrups in front of a bunch of newbie doc-wannabes. But I commend you for your - er, talent. And it was great money.

I don't think I could stop myself from messing with the students. Like randomly sitting up and screaming "OW!!!" just to freak them out....}( }(

Hey - you gotta weed out the weak ones right?

I have liked drawing and painting since I was very little. Before my Grandmother died she gave my mother a drawing of a cat I made when I was only a year and a half. We were poor and my parents didn't seem to be particularly concerned about getting me and my sisters to take art classes. There weren't art classes at school. But at age 16 I discovered a free program in my city, and took a year of drawing and painting, and won an honorific mention for my final painting.

Since I had my daughters I have barely had time to devote to drawing or painting. I do it very sporadicly (is that a word?), but that is going to change soon!!! :D }( Yess!!! They will start school this year. Also, I'm going back to school in January!!! yeepeee!!! I was admited to the school of architecture when I graduated from high school, but dropped out a year later.

Anyway, I also like music. I have "composed" some songs and I like to sing, but I don't play any instrument...yet. I have always given priority to the visual arts, but that is not to say that I don't like music as much as I like visual arts. I think when I make some time to devote to music, I will be good at it.

There are other plans and things that I like, but it would be too much to explain.

Emily,
I'm actually just biting into the pineapple that I picked yesterday. And the lucky streak still holds!
No problem}( Do you have an apple preference?

Maximus, you are my hero! Wonderful achievements! I bet you shut up so many mouths.

My father has similar interests: He also has a BA in political science. His MA is in public administration, but he loves history and has self taught a lot about history.

I went hang gliding once. It was at Kitty Hawk, NC. Actually, it sounds more exciting than it was, cause they did let us get too high, but it had me trembling.

White water rafting on the Youghiogheny River was pretty exciting, too.

I saw Paul Newman in the lobby of a Broadway show when I was in high school. His eyes are really that blue.

I live in Nebraska and am a HUGE Husker fan ----- of course :) I have always loved tailgating and the BBQ's that are with it - I love a big juicy burgar and medium rare steaks!

When I was in Highschool, I ran cross country, played soccer and was on the dance team - - - that is me!

At the end of my 3rd year of college, some college buddies and I got together to arrange and finance an expedition to Ecuador.

The premise behind it was largely scientific, my now-hubby was the expedition leader and is a geologist, but also to travel and climb high mountains/glaciated volcanoes while there.

I went as translator since I speak Spanish. I had the time of my life. Not only did this man and I discover each had an incredible sense of humour and we had so much fun together we fell in love, but we also were given filming equipment by the UK's BBC television network and we made a film of our attempts to travel to the base of Sangay, an active volcano in the Oriente, Ecuadorean rain forest, and climb it. Our film won an award and was screened on BBC televsion! We were written about also in the UK's national Guardian newspaper, on the "review of interesting TV" article. I was personally quoted since I had hated the mountain, where people had previously lost their lives trying to climb during active eruptions, and called it a "slag heap". The title of the article was "Climb every slag heap", after the famous song from the Sound of Music.

I a still with that wonderful man. If I hadn't gone on that trip, where would he be today? Where would I be?!!!!
