Hello again!!

Katie: So your run is next Saturday, yay for more time to train!!:D Even though you don't need it.:) I see you are really enjoying CrossFit, I'm sure all these new activities are going to give you the results you're looking for. Yeah, maintaining your vehicle makes sense, who wants a car payment?:p How's that ankle?

Wendy: I hear you on needing extra cardio to move the scale, doing mostly weights helps me maintain not lose. So you joined Zgym, let me know how you like it. Zuzka has been putting out quite a few dvds lately, the only one I didn't buy was the last yoga one. Good job on Zshred, TWICE! That couldn't have been easy!1:p What kind of kicks did you get, I wouldn't mind a new pair myself!!:D

Good Evening Ladies. :)

After work I did a studio group training session work out but only the weight training portion since I got plenty of cardio with Z this morning! ;)

Tmrw---I run!

Wiggie:: These are the kicks I bought - Delilah™ | Altra Zero Drop Footwear
I have Z's cardio and strength dvds and I like them but Z gym offers even more variety like Body Rock did when she was a part of it.

Hello there!

Friday's workout was Cardio 1 & Amp 1 from firm ZipTrainer. Saturday's was Perfect Butt from KBKB, Jump rope with Zuzka mixed with 125 swings & Step Blast, not back to back of course. Sunday's was S90 Shoulders, Chest & Tri's followed by 100 bicep curls, S90 Legs & later 1/2 of Rhythmic Step. Vitaminworld.com had Met-RX 180 on sale for 29.99 so you know I bought it. I now have a ridiculous amount of exercise systems. I admit I have a problem, now what?:eek::p

Wendy: Good job on your run!! I didn't realize you had a 5K Saturday. That sandbag workout looks good, I'm glad you explained 21@20/35 because I didn't have a clue! I like the new shoes, were they comfortable? I want some black high tops, as of yet I am unable to find any.:(

Katie: Great job on Drill Max!! It's hard but it's always been a favorite of mine. Hope that ankle's ok, you've got a race to run!

Wiggie:: Great work outs!!!! IDK where you find the energy and time to do multiple work outs a day that often! Good for you though! :) It wasn't a 5k race...I just ran 5k in the park with a friend....well actually we mostly walked ...neither of us seemed to have much energy....we ran some though but not as much as we should have...:eek::eek:
Join the club on the ridiculous amount of exercise programs/dvds!!! You are not alone! Does that make you feel better? :)

Good morning!

My ankle is better, but still not 100%. I also strained both of my hip flexors two weeks ago and both are still bothering me tremendously. I feel like i'm starting to fall apart! I know I just took one not that long ago, but after Saturday's race i'm taking another rest week. I feel like I need it.

Despite my ankle, I did work out this weekend (modified, of course). Saturday I went to Crossfit for a partner workout with only 1 person working at at time. After the warmup, we did 5 rounds of the following: 400 meter run (all) 180 jump ropes, 60 power cleans, and 45 box jumps. I couldn't run because of my ankle, so I used the rowing machine. Also, because it was a partner workout (well, actually we were in groups of 3), we all did the run (or row) but divided up everything else. For example, we all had a jump ropes in our hands. I would start jumping and when I got tired or messed up the second person would immediately start jumping and then when she got tired or messed up the third person started jumping. We kept alternating like that until we got to 180 jumps (total between the 3 of us). We used the same basic technique for the power cleans and box jumps for all five rounds. I also modified the box jumps with step ups.

Yesterday I decided to do Total Body Trisets: Upper Body. I was very pleased with my performance. I did not miss any reps, and sometimes I went slightly heavier than Cathe and sometimes I went slightly lighter than Cathe.

Tonight i'm going to try Crossfit again. I'm sure i'll be modifying like crazy again, but that's okay. I want my ankle to heal properly (and QUICKLY). :)

Wendy: Look at you doing double ZShred workouts!!! Impressive! I love your new shoes. And what a good price! I may buy me a pair now. Do you mind I copy your look? :p I just bought new shoes maybe 6 months ago but after the ankle-rolling fiasco I don't want to wear them anymore. I know, it's all in my head.:rolleyes: Thanks for explaining your workout lingo. I thought I had it all figured out, but was confusing the heck out of myself.;) I LOVE the idea of wearing lifting gloves during an obstacle race. Makes complete sense, actually. My lifting gloves are almost worn out, so I will likely wear them Saturday and then go buy new ones. I love an excuse to buy more workout gear. :D

Wiggie: Wow. Your workouts this weekend were amazing. How do you do all that in one day?!?! YOU are amazing! I LOL at your buying another workout system. At least it's a healthy addiction. ;):p Is there such a thing as an "exercise anonymous" group? We could all probably all attend with you! :D:p I keep hoping my ankle will be better by Saturday. If i'm still feeling it a bit i'm going to wear a brace during the race.

Hi ladies! :)

Went to Crossfit after work yesterday. Here's what I did:

- 1/2 mile run
- 4 part snatch,8 reps (I used very little weight - 15# max - because this move is what caused my hip flexor issues)
- Back squats, 7 reps, 85# (I think I can go heavier, but did not want to push it because of my ankle/hip flexors).
- WOD (3 rounds, for time): 10 pullups, 20 jump squats (15# barbell on back), 35 kettleball swings (26#), AND 10 pushups on the minute. The WOD took me approximately 10 minutes to finish, so I did 10 rounds of pushups. Honestly, this workout wouldn't have been so hard except for the added pushups. They really took my breath away.

This morning I did Afterburn. A few moves hurt my hip flexors (mountain climbers, burpees) so I had to modify as needed.

My ankle is feeling better today. It is still sore, but on the mend. Of course stupid me wore heels to work today.:rolleyes: Dumb, dumb, dumb. Oh well! I'll just walk around the office barefoot. :D

Good morning!!

Monday’s workout was Firm Zip Cardio 2, Sculpt 2 & Amp 2. Don’t be too impressed, they are only 15 minutes long. If you count the w/u & c/d they are 20 minutes. Kelsie leads Sculpt 2. She fits a surprising amount of moves in that short workout. I have to admit they are intense. I was dripping with sweat when I got finished. :) Tuesday’s workout was KBKB Cardio 2.0 followed by the stretch dvd. It’s called Joint Mobility or something like that.

Wendy: I definitely do feel better that I'm not alone in this addiction.:p Great job on Zshred!!

Katie: Great job with CrossFit!! Sorry about your pain, sounds like you need complete rest until your race, at least think about it.:) I agree with you re the exercise anonymous comment.:p

Happy Hump Day! :D

I went to Crossfit this morning before work. Here's the workout:

Warm-up (50 jumping jacks, stretches)

Skill:
- 20 Snatchs (I used a 15# barbell)
- 12 rounds, On the Minute of: (a) handstand pushups (3 reps) and (b) dips (as many as possible).

WOD: 3 rounds of the following
- 400 meter run
- 21 kettleball swings (I used a 26# KB)
- 12 pullups (band assisted, for me at least)

Overall, the workout wasn't that bad. I was really annoyed when we were doing the snatches, though, because some of the girls were not executing the move properly. I mean, what's the point of using a super heavy barbell if you aren't going to do the move right in the first place? I may have gone light but by gosh I did the move right!! :D

Wiggie: There's nothing wrong with stringing together 3, 15/20 minute workouts. I love doing that, actually! And it sounds like you got a fantastic workout. "Dripping sweat" at the end is always a good sign. ;) You're right, I probably should have taken this week off to let my ankle and hip flexors heal. Oops. :D But i'm going to take next week off I promise. ;)

Hi Wendy!!!

Good Afternoon, Ladies! :)

So Monday was a studio group session work out that I did at home, yesterday was Z-Shred #3 but only once this time :p and last but definitely not least this morning was a portion of a studio group session work out (one 5 exercise circuit done 2x through) and half of ZWOW # 69! This morning's work out slayed me! Loved it! ;)

So here's the breakdown::

2 rounds of: sandbag squats, mountain climber push ups, body weight squats with a pause at the bottom, hand touch push ups and one arm KB pick ups. It was an interval work out so it was timed but I don't honestly remember the timing break down. I just know I went through it twice so it was 10 rounds...Then I followed it up with this::

(ZWOW #69) 75 high knees jump rope/25 goblet squats/75 high knees jump rope/25 dive bomber push ups/75 high knees jump rope/25 plank pulls...Z does it twice but since I was combining it with something else I only did it once. And once was enough! YEOWZERS!

Katie::
I was really annoyed when we were doing the snatches, though, because some of the girls were not executing the move properly. I mean, what's the point of using a super heavy barbell if you aren't going to do the move right in the first place? I may have gone light but by gosh I did the move right!! :D
- Spoken like a personal trainer in the making! I think you may have found a new career calling! :) Feel free to order the same shoes I did! It's not like we are likely to go running together anytime soon and chance looking silly :p...though I'd love to be able to work out with you some day!:D

Wiggie:: As I recall from my kettlebell dvds, "Joint Mobility" is their term for the stretches that they do. Stringing together short work outs is a form of mish-moshing! You know I love that! Great job! :D

Slept in this morning so I worked out tonight instead. I did Zshred #4. It was 4 rounds of 50 weighted punches, 10 push ups into squat press, 10 single leg jump lunges per side, 30 weighted sit ups and 30 weighted torso twists. It was evil and I loved it! :)

Hi girls!

I went to Crossfit after work yesterday. Here's the general breakdown:

Warm-up: 15 burpees + stretches

Skill: 2 x 10 box jumps (21 inch box - my highest box yet!) + 3 x 6 (per leg) weighted step-ups. I used a 25# barbell. I intended on going heavier, but I was stepping on a 20 inch box and the weight of the barbell kept pushing me forward. So to be safe I lowered the weight.

WOD: 3 Rounds. First round - 21 reps of everything, Second round - 15 reps of everying, and Third round - 9 reps of everything.
- Power Cleans (45# barbell)
- Shoulder press (35# barbell)
- 200 meter run

Today is my rest day. Tomorrow i've got the Capital City River Dash (which is basically a 5K mud run). I'm really excited about the race!! From what i've seen and heard the obstacles and running conditions far exceed the Warrior Dash. I'll make sure to take pictures! :)

Wendy: I would LOVE to be a personal trainer!!! I've thought about going in that direction. Right now i'm drowning in school loans, but once those are paid off I may seriously consider getting a PT certification. I LOL at your "evil but loved it" comment. I have that feeling a lot myself. I really need to order ZCut. What do you think is better, the ZCut DVDs or the ZGym/ZShred workouts? I've decided I need to add more cardio into my workouts. So you still like your shoes? Are they good for both running and your studio workouts?

Wiggie: Hello dear!! :)

Happy Sunday!!

Wow, I didn't realize it had been so long since I posted. You Ladies have been very busy I see.;) Wednesday's workout was ZipTrainer(ZT) Upper body + cardio, Thursday's was ZT Lower Body + Cardio, I had a football game Friday so no workout. Saturday I went shopping in Charleston with my brother & his wife. We had the endlees shrimp at Red Lobster & ate waaay too much.:p I got home late, so all I did was my 100 swings, 30 pushups, 30 leg lifts, & 30 halos. That wasn't much but I had to do something after a meal like that! Sunday's workout was Bicep Builder, I did some extra jumproping between the weight exercises followed by KBKB Perfect Butt w/extra swings to get my 100 in. Later I did Firm ZT Jumpstart, Rev Cardio & Rev Sculpt.

Katie: You went to CrossFit so close to your race? Your ankle & hips must have healed, good job!! I know you did great with your race, I wonder if there are any dvds that mimic CrossFit? It sounds too hard for me but I'll try almost anything once!!:p I agree with Wendy you sound like a personal trainer.:)

Wendy: Great workouts!! That workout your boss put together looks intense, WTG completing that one. Well, I learned to Mish-Mosh from the best, that would be you!

I have got to do better at keeping in touch, by the way, I forgot to tell you both, I love your new pics! :)

Hi Girls. :)

Saturday was a busy day but I still got in a short work out. Z-Shred #5!

Y'day I did another studio PT client work out that went like this:

Lunge with knee up R
Body Saw
Lunge with knee up L
2 Knees in disc Mountain Climbers

Squat Curl Press
Split Stance Squat Row
SB alternating push up and forward roll
SB Bridge (10 sec hold)

10 reps of each unless otherwise noted x 2.5 rounds of each grouping. Topped it off with conditioning - 3@1:00R/5:00W.

This work out slayed me!:D

Today is a rest day. It's been 10+ days since I've taken one!

BBL for personals!

Good morning!

I'm officially into my rest week. I miss my workouts already. :( Guess i'll just have to workout vicariously through you gals this week. ;)

My race on Saturday went spendidly! It was sooo much fun! Much better than the Warrior Dash I did in August (IMHO). There weren't near as many people so the course wasn't trashed. The obstacles were fun. Lot's of running down steep hills and then running back up the other side OR, if you couldn't make it, pulling yourself up with a rope. There were also two slides into water, a .3 mile walk down a creek, a rope swing over a pool of water, 8-10 insane mud mounds, etc. We ran the race in 1 hour, 22 minutes, which is not that great of a time BUT we had one girl in our group that kept holding us back, we got bottlenecked at 2-3 obstacles, and at the end we kept stopping for family/friends to take pictures (technically we were still on the course at this time so our time was still running). I think if I eliminated those three things I could have finished the course in just over an hour. I am still planning on doing the Spartan Race next Spring but i'm only running it if my group agrees to be semi-competitive. :p Not that we will be anywhere close to the top finishers. I just want to try and actually get our best time possible, whatever time that may be. :)

Wiggie: My husband LOVES the endless shrimp at Red Lobster! I may have treat him to that this week. :) It sounds like you had a wonderful, fun, relaxing weekend. Shopping is always good for the soul. ;) Girl, Crossfit would NOT be too hard for you! You would totally kill it. Some of your two-a-day workouts are much harder than a single Crossfit WOD. My ankle is much better but my hip flexors are still extremely sore. The pain often wakes me up at night. :( I'm hoping this week off helps. I'm not sure what else to do.

Wendy: You haven't taken a rest day in over a week?!?! You rebel! :p;) Yes, you definitely deserve a day off. You've been rocking your workouts lately. I mean, who can resist a good slaying??:p Have you noticed any changes yet in your weight/body now that you've been adding in more cardio? I hate disc mountain climbers. Kuddos for doing those! IMHO, they are much harder than normal mountain climbers. Maybe that means I should be doing disc MC more often, lol!

Katie:: Congrats on a great race! Your pics are awesome! Love them! Mud looks good on you! ;) In order to be competitive you really need to run the race solo. I am considering it for my next Spartan. I will still be a part of a team but I am running my own race. Not waiting for anyone or struggling to catch up with anyone either. It's the only way I'll truly know what I am capable of. :) The scale hasn't moved since I've added in some more cardio BUT my body is changing! My belly has started to shrink back and the definition in my abs is becoming more visible again so that makes me happy and will keep me motivated! Now I'm just waiting for my pants to get looser and the scale to drop! So if you were to go for a PT cert in the future would it be to establish a f/t career or would you do it p/t?

Wiggie:: Great work outs! Still doin' the 100 swings I see! How long are you going to do that for? :) I am not envious of your endless shrimp dinner as I do not like shrimp which lots of people find odd. I just don't like shellfish as a rule. Have yet to meet a shellfish that I like!

Good morning!!

Monday's workout was Zcut 6 Pack Power Abs. I've had it awhile, though this is my first time doing it. I was tired before I started so it wore me out. I'll have to do it again before I really give an accurate review. My new Cathe's are scheduled to arrive this morning, I'm excited though my heart is heavy knowing that Cathe just lost her father. My parents died 5 months apart. I felt very lost & alone, even though I wasn't really alone. I hope she's ok. I feel like she's a friend, even though I've never met her.

Katie: Congrats on a race well run!! You certainly deserve a rest week, are those hips & that ankle any better today? I have to disagree, your CrossFit looks much more intense than my workouts. Can you post a link so I can look at the pictures? I have a facebook log in, can I look from there?

Wendy: You don't like shrimp? That's ok, I ate enough for both of us!!:p Yeah, still doing those swings, not sure for how long. I need to never stop because when I finish I have an intense burn at the bottom of my butt. I'm thinking that's a very good thing!:D I'm sure the scale will begin moving soon, you know the less you have to lose, the slower the scale moves.
