Form question

Traildoggie

Cathlete
when I do a curl, I can't hold the dumbbells straight horizontal. one end always dips. somehow the angle of my lower arm to my hand is such that they are always crooked. this is most noticeable on preacher curls on a ball where elbows seem to angle inward toward each other and my hands flare outward. Is there a technique to straighten things out ? for barbells, I always use an easy curl bar rather than a straight one that makes it easier but with dumbbells?? ideas?

No Worries Traildoggie. Only hold the dumbbells in a fashion that your body anatomically allows you to. If you try forcing an arm rotation that doesn't naturally happen you will potentially invite an unwanted strain or unnecessary injury. The slight angle that you currently describe is natural and delivers effective results. Happy Lifting.

Thank you cathe. I'm coming off an unpleasant shoulder injury but I was patient and let it heal, and things are going well. this has always bothered me mostly because it looks "funny" to me in the mirror. one arm is slightly more tweaked than the other, left being more in line than the right. I will move on and not worry about it. Thanks.
