for those of you who did weight watchers

runfree

Cathlete
this is my third week doing the flex plan and I have been soooo tired the past week or so, did any of you experience this when cutting back on eating and following the plan? thanks

I found that I had to eat every one of my activity points (and I measured those with a very generous HRM) or I simply did not get enough food on a daily basis. That was my only problem with WW. Make sure you are eating all of your points - and it doesn't hurt to run a day or two through www.sparkpeople.com or another free website to get an actual calorie count, just to make sure you are not too low.

Hi there,

I tried it with just the Points system and found that it simply wasn't enough even with the very ample Actiivty Points I was earning. Basically and annoyingly the scale did not budge and my workouts were not as powerful.

Honestly, I still haven't found a plan that works really well for me.

Good luck!!

Pam

I have lost 40 lbs over the last two years while doing weight watchers. The biggest suggestion I can make is to use your WP's and AP's when working out at a high intensity. I also try to eat protein/fiber rich foods. I eat something every 2-3 hours or so. Get used to listening to your body. If I was truly hungry after a couple days of intense workouts, I would eat something (usually string cheese/apple or whole grain bread, 1 T. pb) regardless of if I had points or not. Good luck!

Congrats, Lindsey on losing 40lbs!! That's awesome!! It's like carrying around a small child or medium dog!

Keep up the great work and thanks for the tips!! :D

I did have a phase when i wasn't getting enough protein. That made me feel tired.I added protein powder to my diet. And I was feeling better within a few days.

I've been doing WW since September last year and have lost 15kg.

WW was going fine at first and it wasn't until I started the Cathe workouts about a month in that I started to feel tired. I actually got to the point where I thought I should pull the car over and have a quick sleep on the way home from work in case I don't get home.

I went to the doctor and they did all sorts of blood tests but found nothing but the fatigue lasted about a month. I just started taking more note of my food.. ate more decent food to make up my points even when I wasn't that hungry I used them all, ate more red meat and started taking multi-vitamins. It passed after a few weeks of that but I never ate more than the daily allowance. Before though when I was tired I would fall short 3-5 points per day but I didn't eat more because I wasn't hungry. I think I was lacking something though so I can see why they say to eat up to your points.

I know it's shocking but I eat lunch at 12 then a small snack at 1, 2 and 3pm every work day. I finish work at 4 but it gets me though the afternoon! All three snacks usually total around 2 points so it isn't much. I find they keep me awake (I started this during that bad, tired time) and having a schedule keeps me sane because I have something to look forward to regularly all afternoon.

I am feeling much better this week. I am not as hungry and dont even crave junk food anymore. this is my 4th week. I am trying to incorporate healthier snacks, such as tomatoes, cucumbers instead of yogurt or pudding, so far these seem to hold me over and have no point value. I also discovered that if I eat toast with just 1 tbls of peanut butter for breakfast without the fruit , I dont end up as hungry in between breakfast and lunch. I eat fruit later in the day. I am trying to eat more grains which I think is helping fill me up more. I had a cheat day today big time, we had thedairy queen and pizza today and after I got done eating , I actually felt a little sick to my stomach because I havent really ate that kind of food for a month now. I really dont miss it either which is a big surprise to me, I never thought I would say that since I love food so much. anyway, I have lost 4 lbs only and hope to lose another 5-6 lbs. I lost 3 in the first week and then only a half pd for weeks 2 and 3. I wont weigh myself until friday for results of week 4.

I just joined WW this past Monday and keeping to the points has been useless with being in Meso 2 of STS. I am hungry and just can't get satisfied without feeling tired or weak. Great discussion here.

Be sure to get enough rest with WWers and Cathe. That is my biggest issue. Choosing good/clean food with lots of protein and water help me also.

Good Luck

Also, make sure you do their healthy guidelines - I think there are 8 of them? The list like drinking a minimum 64 oz of water, taking a multivitamin, make sure you get in your healthy oils, etc. I can't remember them all, it's been a couple years since I did WW, but those little things can make a big difference. My downfall was trying to "work" the points with crap food, so I had to address that with myself!
