I have been reading your posts and I have learned alot from the advice you give. I have lost over 60 pounds with alot of hard work and determination. I'm 5'5, 150 lbs 24% bodyfat. I would like to lose an additional 20 lbs. I was hoping to get your thoughts on my current routine:

Monday: Bootcamp
Tuesday: Treadmill interval run- 45 min + 1 seg from Core Max
Wednesday: ME
Thursday: Same as Tues + different Core Max seg
Friday: Drill Max
Saturday: Treadmill run + Core Max
I also walk for 40 min atleast 3xs a week during my lunch break.

Eating is great for the most part I'm currently eating between 1400-1700 calories. Any suggestions or thoughts you might have would be great!

Wow, congrats on the 60# loss! That is awesome! Good for you and I bet you look great!

On your rotation:

First off, you don't have to work abs every day. That is true overkill. Either keep in the ones you are doing with your cardio or do the ones that come with BC, ME and DM. I only work my abs twice a week, but three wouldn't hurt you. 6 is a bit much.

Your rotation has too much cardio in it (imo). What I would do is this:

Monday: Muscle Max Upper body premix (or any other upper body workout from Cathe's DVD's)
Tuesday: Keep
Wednesday: B&G or L&G (leg day)
Thursday: Keep
Friday: BM2 Double upper body premix
Saturday: Keep
Sunday: Rest

You will be amazed at the weight and body fat you will drop incorporating weight training more then cardio.

Let me know what you think.

Thank you so much for your response! I'm glad you made the point about working abs too much, I was thinking the samething after reading your posts. I plan to cut back on ab work to 3 days a week. This is a new rotation for me. I'm new to Cathe workouts and just started using Bootcamp, ME (the abs section KILLS me!) and Drillmax. I've been running for several months. I started using the Firm workouts 3 years ago but I wanted something more challenging. I have been checking out B&G, and Bodymax 2 as my next purchase and rotation so I was glad to see you suggest them. I do have 2 questions, why the focus on upper body 2xs a week and lower body work only 1x? Is it because lower body is also worked while doing cardio? What do think about the kickboxing workouts like KPC or KM? Thanks again for your time!

Lower body is worked when you do cardio so doing weights more then once a week really isn't necessary. Some people work their legs twice a week but I don't see a good reason to do so.

My favorite is Cardio Kicks. Its one of Cathe's older kickboxing workouts and it is fun. KP&C is my next favorite and then KM. Any of these workouts are well worth the $$$.

You're great! Thanks again for your input. I am also more than happy to cut back on cardio and focus more on weights!
