So, with all this talk of Fitday.com, I decided to head over and register and check it out.

I entered what I've eaten so far today.

And nearly fell off my chair. NO BLOODY WONDER I CAN'T LOSE WEIGHT AND LEAN UP!!!! The stuff I'm eating is healthy, but man, I'm eating way too much of it, and too many carbs and fat and not enough protein. So.... back to the drawing board.x(

Oh darn it . I checked it out too and well I'm kinda slow and didnt figure it out I will have to go back to it .Hopefully it doesn't scare me too !!! Hang in there it will be ok :) :)

Shelley,
I remember seeing you on the roadtrip and I wish I would have introduced myself(still felt a little shy around all of you guys) anyway, you look great and I can't imagine you losing any weight. You can always become stronger but I think you look great and very lean. Don't be too hard on yourself. Remember I am the one licking the bottom of the brownie bowl.:)

Susan

Susan, we did meet, I thought, in the lobby of the hotel??? Was that you? We met somewhere, I'm sure of it.

Anyway, thanks for the compliments:) I guess it's hard for us to see ourselves objectively sometimes - particularly during PMS:p

Mmmmmmmmmmmm..... brownies;)

Mmmm.... brownie batter... :9 Hey Susan, I remember meeting you on the road trip. You never did sing for me! ;)

I wonder if there is a listing for brownie batter in Fitday.com?

My macronutrients are so screwed up, it's not even funny. So far today, 54% of my calories have come from fat. HOLY COW! Where the heck did all that fat come from? (Okay, I know it was from the banana bread- but still!) This is very eye-opening.

Yes, Evily, I'm at 52% carbs, 17% protein and 32% fat. Ugh. And way too many calories. I practically can't eat anything for the rest of the day!:p

Mmmmmmmmmmm.... banana bread.;)

Shelly -

I KNOW! What an eye opener that site is. I've been using it faithfully (sort of) for two weeks now and have finally broken through a 1 year plateau.

The only problem is that entering the numbers and trying to juggle my foods to get the right combination is something of a part time job!

Good luck with it.

Margaret

Shelley,

Fitday was a real eye opener for me too!! Maybe it is the OCD coming out in me but now I sit down at night and input my food for the next day, if something is screwing up my percentages, I take it out and replace it with something else until I get the right balance. I takes a little time but worth it. After a couple of days of using fitday and not getting things to come out right, I decided this is the best way for me to do it. That way I'm not saying "darn I shouldn't have eaten that"!!

It has really been a great tool for me. A little bit of a pain getting in all of your foods but well worth it.

Another thing that helped me was when I learned to put a protein with a carb. No more sugar dips for me. DD had terrible low blood sugar episodes where she would gets so lightheaded she'd almost go down, break out in a sweat, etc. Since she started putting a protein with a carb, she hasn't had one episode. This is probably something many of you know but I just didn't and it has made a real difference in my hunger cravings. Except during PMS, I don't think I'll ever find anything to tackle that monster.

I am considering buying the software. Are you happy with it. Does it have more benefits that the free online version that make it worthwhile?

Margaret

Well I just went to this site and am about ready to burst into tears. It said I have consumed about 950 calories today and burned 630 of them, just through intentional exercise not basic life things like doing laundry. I'm so depressed. I work really hard to get enough calories (really hard, considering I feel bloated and nauseated most of the time) and it seems I'm not getting enough. Certainly not enough protein. I feel like I can't eat anymore than I do because of the bloating, yet clearly I need to.

Wow. I'm so discouraged. I feel like I will never get a handle on things. :(

Awww, Sparrow, don't feel discouraged! ((HUGS)) Clearly, many of us are having problems getting proper nutrition and calories (whether it be too many or not enough). I've only eaten 780 calories so far today! And I'm certainly not hungry. (I just had lunch though) I burned 400 this morning through my exercise. So yeah, I need to eat some more - but the day is only half over. Tonight, DH is getting pizza for us, which isn't the most healthful way to get calories, but at least it's a veggie pizza. ;) I think a lot of us are going to be making a LOT of changes to our eating habits as a result of using FitDay. You still have half a day left to get in more calories, so don't worry. It's all a learning process. :)

I just did it too for the first time, I am eating way too much protein 50%, 35% carb and 14% fat. So much for me judging how much protein I should eat. I was aiming for 130 grams per day. Anyone have any tips? Melissa

FitDay is an eye opener and can get a person extremely frustrated.x(

I used it for a few weeks and have now decided to take a break from it because no matter what I did it was wrong as far as my diet goes. I'm just doing the best I can w/o FitDay's help. I've successfully lost weight before w/o the help of a computer program...I gotta be able to do it again!!!

Phooey on you FitDay!:p :p :p

Hi Sparrow! What exactly are you eating & how often? Can you please write it all out for me even your beverages & maybe I can tweak it for you & show you where your going wrong. I hope you don't mind me helping you. Why are you nauseated? Is it due to the weather or something else? I'm here to help. Kathy:D

Wendy,

I input my food before I eat so I can see the impact it is going to make and can change it if I need to. Maybe this will help.

Also I have been very honest on fitday even on my worse binge days during PMS last week. It was horrifying to see what I put in my body calorie-wise in one day. I kept waiting for a box to pop up and say "you are kidding, right?":p

It's nicer to look at and seems more organized too. I like it a lot better.
