Good morning everyone,
I failed to get up again so I'm going to do MIC after lunch and if I have a little strength will work on upper body. I'll be darned if my lower body isn't feeling yesterday's Firm workout after I thought I wasn't getting anything out of it!!

Still sticking to the Zone. Feel pretty good (my McCain's oatmeal is cooking as I type). I'm figuring even if my ratios are a little off, I'm still not cheating w/other bad foods and my portions are smaller so it should do something.

Good Morning everyone!! I have been incorporating some Firm's into my workouts, and their LB is great!! I have been totally Cathe for 3 years or so, but lately, I have just wanted to see some different people, and bought some Firms. I think they are great along with my Cathe vids. I love all of the tall box climbs, my legs and butt have been sorer than they ever were with a 50 lb. barbell on my shoulders. I am so enjoying them together. My BB DVD's will be here tomorrow!!!! Sat. will be cardio day, so I think I will be doing KPC. I can not wait!!!! Well, I am off. Have a great day everyone!!

Hello all,
Brenda are you really going to do the ENTIRE MIC tape and then weights? WOW. That is ambitious and more than I can even think about attempting...

I'm a big oatmeal fan. I buy rolled oats in bulk at the local health food store. What do you put on yours? I need some variety in my oatmeal.

Lori are you alternating cardio days with weight days? What firm workout did you do? When you do weights, do you do total body or parts?

Oh today was my rest day. I did am yoga with rodney this am - just needed that little wake-me-up today. Last evening I ate 1/2 my normal dinner then did Classical stretch for athletes with Miranda someone. I picked it up at best buys a few weekends ago. It was rather interesting. Kind of weird. I'm trying to increase my flexibiity. We shall see. My worst spot is my hips. Yike. Then I ate a whole bunch of lite popcorn (I rationalized that it was the 2nd half of my dinner ;)

Wow, Lori... I hope your enthusiasm rubs off on me.:) There's something about cold weather that just makes me want to vegetate. And it's not even that cold here in Dallas -- mid-50's and sunny! Shame on me.

Did IMAX 2 yesterday. I initially thought that was a bad idea since I did PS Legs Tuesday and IMAX 2 is also a leg workout (at least that's how it feels to me). But nothing else motivated me except IMAX 2. So now my quads are sore and it's back to upper body strength training today. I'll decide which workout later. I have to surprise myself to keep motivated.:)

Brenda, I read your post yesterday. Yes, I did see a difference when I started using a barbell as opposed to just dumbbells. My biceps and back started to shape up. I do find, however, that I can lift heavier and longer when I'm using dumbbells.

I don't know when my BB DVD's are coming. I checked yesterday and didn't get any info. I ordered in August, so maybe it's going to take a few more days. Oh well...

Joy, I feel like I have a small window of opportunity to workout so as long as I'm up for it, I'll do as much as my body allows me! I'll probably work biceps and back on my own when I'm finished. It also helps that I'm really excited today about doing MIC. The "old-fashioned" hi impact is something I can do without thinking about where my feet are supposed to be.

Lori, you'll love the DVD's. I REALLY like Step Blast and if you like IMAX2 (Pinky) you'll really like this one, too.

(I usually have my oatmeal w/just a little FF 1/2 & 1/2 and a Splenda... my husband makes it w/butter, sugar and milk for the kids which is, needless to say, not the same)
 
Hi all, again. I will tell you how I eat my oatmeal, and PLEASE do not gag, but I love it!! I eat a 1/2 c. of raw oatmeal, the night before I mix 1 sc. of GROW Pro Powder w/ 1/4 c. or so of water and refrigerate overnight because it thickens, and mix them together, w/ a sm. banana and 1 T. of ground flax seed. I love it this way. You can use other pro powders, but you may need to sprinkle on some Splenda or something to sweeten it a little. GROW is made w/ Splenda, and when it refrigerates, it gets thick like cake batter, and I LOVE it.

I am really wanting to try Step Blast, but I have never mastered Rythmatic Step. I have tried about 5 times, and always quit about the 3 combo. So, Step Blast intimidates me, so therefore I will start out with KPC.

Hi all,

Was able to find some new shoes yesterday that I am pretty excited about. Bought some Nike Crosstrainers and they seem so cushy and padded. And they were on sale to boot so I'm pretty happy.

Wore the new crosstrainers this morning as I did Jay Blahnik's Step Revival. I just love this workout. It's not as advanced as some of my other step tapes or maybe it's because I know it so well. Anyway, had a great workout and the new shoes felt really good. Tomorrow is Muscle Endurance and I think I'll add 5 more pounds to the bar and give it a whirl. I haven't had major DOM's in a while so this could be interesting.

Even managed to do better about my eating. Work gave out Carl's Jr. food discount coupons today but I am refraining from using them and will stick with the lunch I packed. Not nearly as tasty or exciting as Carl's Jr. but certainly healthier.

Hi everyone

Did the step portion of MIC this morning and boy I forgot how tough it was. I had to stop a couple of times when we got to the cardio blast, just couldn't do all those jumps onto the step. I am going home tonight to do the Hi/Lo portion.

We are missing the snowstorm, it is to our south. If we get any snow, it will be 1-2 inches. But right now it is sunny and 30.

let me say that combo 3 in rhythmic step is the most difficult. Also, I think there is something confusing about the cuing at the point after the power horse when you go over the step, turn, back up on the step and then squat off the side (from the warm up) Now I don't think 5 times is so many. So don't give up. Sometime try to do the warm up then just section 3. Don't do it for a workout, just keep rewinding those parts that are hard.

Your oatmeal concoction sort of sounds like a hi-pro granola bar. It actually sounds pretty good to me, but I don't think I've ever seen GROW pro powder. Do you mash the banana? Would any other fruit work - like a finely chopped apple?

Now that you bring up the flaxseed...I was mixing flaxseed in my oatmeal and I discovered that it was upsetting my stomach. Not at first, after about a year. Also I went through a spell where my complexion got very bad - lots of breaking out - like teenage zits. At first I thought it was some vitamins. I stopped them. Nothing changed. I was careful with soap, shampoo and detergent. Nothing. Then I changed bc pills. Nothing changed after the 1st month. Then I stopped eating flaxseed (because of my stomach) and my skin got better. Now was it the flax? or the bc pills? or a combination? or something else?

Uh, Brenda, I feel a little stupid here, what is FF?

Pinky, I agree that IMAX2 is a leg workout. My quads cry well before I'm out of 'aerobic' energy. If your doing IMAX2 the day after ps legs, it sounds like your are winning the battle against the cold weather - and hey 50's sounds cold to me! (I'm in FL - its lower 70's today)

Gee, Sabine, sorry about the Iseum blister. I got a pair and I really really like them. They fit me better then any others I've had. Funny how feet are so different.

Joy, not a silly question! FF is fat free, but it could also be french fries which would probably improve the taste of my oatmeal.

Got through MIC but had to stop a few times for crying (not me, the baby). I did a little ab/bicep work on the stability ball and tomorrow I think I'll try KPC or SJP. Let me know what you all think of these when you get your dvd's. I only did them once and stuck to workouts I liked more but I need to try again.

Another day on the Zone- not bad.

Sabine, glad you found new crosstrainers you like!

I finally got my butt out of bed at 6 am and did 10 10 10 (added biceps and abs). I should be getting my DVD's tomorow so that is exciting.
Why is flax oil good for you? How do you use it? Just curious.

Hi Shonie, nice to meet ya! I live in Flower Mound, in the Wellington area. Glad to know I'm not the only Texan around. I'm not a native really, but I fell in love with Texas the first time I came over for a visit. Great people, beautiful women, very diverse population. If only they can do something about the traffic. And the LBJ freeway...

Well, I'm not a native Texan either. I'm originally from Missouri, but love living here now. I, too, love the diverse population. Luckily I can avoid LBJ most of the time. Hopefully you don't spend much time there either.
