I did lose last night, I was thrilled!!!! 1 lb., on Thanksgiving week no less??? I have not recieved my shipping notice for my BB Dvd's, bummer!!! i should be getting it soon, I think I pre-ordered on the first day. Hope everyone has a good day.

Well, congratulations! :) Those BB DVD's were the first thing to cross my mind upon waking up today. Usually it's my son, if he's awake, cold, hungry... now I'm ashamed...

Did PS Legs yesterday, huffing and puffing with my heaviest weight but am surprisingly not sore today. Time to move up? On the second week of my revamped, stricter Zone regimen, and my jeans are slacker, I feel lighter, but I'm still the same weight (which is where I want to be). Sounds like this is working.

I've been seeing a lot of interest in the Zone lately. Does anyone want a Zone tips sharing thread?

Great on the 1# Lori. Tough to do during the holidays. Pinky, you may see a weight difference in a day or two. I've noticed that sometimes the bod and the scale don't match and it takes time for them to catch up to each other...

This must be legs day. I did Legs and Glutes this am. I'm waiting for the DVD's too, but I bought it all cuz the torture of waiting for the IS dvd's was too much for me.

Pinky, I've noticed that if I do the same workout a few times then I don't get as sore - that DOMS thing. But I can definately say that I feel spent after the workout. So I think its not necessarily that you need to go heavier, just that you've gotten a little more efficient at the workout. The need to go heavier, to me, is dictated more on whether or not you can complete all the reps with good form. If yes, up the weight...(generally speaking and IMHO, of course :) )

I did REALLY good with my eating yesterday - no junk. I don't have very good success following an eating program - seems like I'm always 'rebelling' and cheating. If I can stay away from the desserts then my eating is usually pretty good. I'm trying to regain some good habits that I lost somewhere - you know none of that mindless snacking on chips and such and staying out of the bakeries and pastry aisles...

Hello everyone!
I just finished the Firm Super Body Sculpt and heavied up on all the weights. I haven't done it in so long and find it really unappealing now. Its over really quickly and made me realize how many more sets Cathe does per body part and I feel I really push myself more with her workouts. The tape was over today and I thought, that's it? I did abs on the stability ball afterwards.
Yesterday I was running short on time (because I didn't get up early like I was supposed to:-( ) so I just did free weights on my own. If I have time this afternoon I may do some cardio since I feel kind of let down on my workout today...

Otherwise, eating has been fine. Sticking with the Zone, although I'm afraid I'm depending on the bars too much (had one for breakfast yesterday and today due to lack of time). Does this make sense? Last night, I had approx 12 cashews for fat, 3 oz chicken and 1 1/2 C of pears (need to go to the store). I drank a big glass of water before and after and wasn't hungry at all. Had a snack bar at 10:20pm since it says you should eat a snack before bed and that was it for the night.

I need to remember not to get on the scale. I haven't lost any weight but feel like I may be losing fat. My weight varies within 4 lbs always so even if I feel good, if I see that the scale is higher it effects my thinking/body image- does that make any sense?

Of course Pinky I would like a Zone thread- I always have more questions! When you say you eat a salad pack w/out crutons, do you mean the big bags of salad that come at the store? Wow, that's a lot of salad.

Lori- great job, especially over Thanksgiving!!

I'll check in later and see what's happening...

Hi Everyone,

Did Leaner Legs this morning. Tomorrow is MIC and I am thinking of doing the Step portion in the morning and the floor in the evening. Eating went pretty well yesterday. I am certainly not gorging this week like I did last week. Hoping the scale will be nice to me this weekend. It is also my measure weekend so we will see how that works out.

Rhonda, I just DREAD leaner legs. I think I'd rather do any other leg workout than that one. All those squats and the low ends and the sit and stand and the thing where you put the rear leg up on the step (I think she calls them one-legged squats) and the static lunges. I'm crying just thinking about it....

Good Morning everyone,

Lori- congratulations on the success you had at your weigh in last night! That's so terrific, especially since last week was the Thanksgiving holiday.

This morning was Leaner Legs (Hi Rhonda, we're twins) with my 30# barbell. Did really well and I can already feel it in my glutes and hamstrings. I did omit the low end static lunges cause they are pretty stressful on my knees, but did everything else. I'm contemplating upping my barbell by 5 lbs. on the leg tapes. I'm somewhat hesitant because of the pressure the extra weight may put on my knees. Maybe I could up the weight just for the first 10 minutes or whatever, then go down, and see how I feel. Then the next time go up for 15 minutes, etc. until I a) can do the workout with the new weight, or b) discover that I need to stay at my current weight. What do you guys think of the plan?

I'm very bummed because I returned the Ryka Iseum's I bought on Sunday because they gave me a huge blister on the instep of my right foot. The looked so nice and I really wanted them to work out. So after work today I am on the search again for some new shoes.

I haven't received my tracking number yet either. But I ordered very late so I'll be one of the last to get the BB DVD's. I'm not too sad as the required DVD player will not be available until December 25! But I'm jealous of Joy who did Legs and Glutes today. I've heard it's a really good lower body workout with some neat moves.

Brenda- I know what you mean about the Firm. I don't find them nearly as challenging now that I do Cathe a majority of the time. But I'm going to keep the around because you never know when you'll need a less challenging tape for lighter days or for coming back after an injury or sickness.

Pinky and others- I'll check in on the Zone thread from time to time. Could be very informative (and remotivate me to be more conscientious about my eating).

Joy, I do feel spent after yesterday's PS Legs. No soreness, just a general tiredness, nothing unpleasant though. Thank you for giving me your thoughts regarding going heavier. I've been on 40 lbs. (my heaviest) for less than a month and I find it incredible that my body has gotten used to it so quickly. Wonder if I can lift 45 lbs. over my head? Gotta try that sometime...

Brenda, I do mean those salad kits that have dressing and croutons with them. It IS a LOT of salad. Makes you get this wonderful sense of how a rabbit would feel in a farmer's lettuce patch.:) I notice that filling up on all these fruits and vegetables gives my tummy a swell at the end of the day, but when I wake up in the morning, it's flat. Btw, I saw Sears' new book at Target today. Can't remember the exact title but it had something to do with Omega 3 and the Zone. About 1/5 of the book is all references. There was a chapter on eicosanoids and the usual appendix (food blocks, body fat calculations, etc.) I'll wait for it to show up at my favorite used book store.

I just got Leaner Legs. Just viewing it made me tired!:) I'll try it out this weekend.

Sabine- what I found was the stronger my quads got the better my knees felt. Over the summer I was having a great deal of problems with my right knee "locking" when I would run and would have to stop, work it out and have it start again 1/4 mile later. Since I've been doing Cathe's tapes I haven't had any recurring problems (although I have been doing more step as opposed to running).

Let me know if that makes sense! I need to ask for a bar for Christmas - I used two 20lb bells for legs today w/the Firm and my neck can't take the strain. Pinky, I saw your comment on the other thread... you really noticed a difference with the bar vs bells only?

Hope all is well w/everyone. Ended up having a cardio challenge trying to get Christmas shopping done this afternoon.:)

Hi everyone,
So far yesterday and today has been a bust. Had my alarm set for 6 am and went to bed nice and early around 10:30. Around 3 am I woke up and could not fall back to sleep. Very frustrating. I had a very long day at work. So when I fell asleep around 5:30 I just turned the alarm off.
How is the Zone working for everyone? I'm thinking of maybe giving it a try. Debating between WW and Zone. What do you all think?
