Fit for Xmas - 12/19

Hi everyone, this will probably be my last check-in before Christmas. I'm leaving for Houston on Sunday and will be gone for a week. I'm trying not to go crazy figuring out how to entertain my son, who can't stand being in his car seat for 30 minutes, through a five-hour drive.:)

Sabine, I just have to say I admire what you do with kids. Impulse control is a great lesson especially in these times when instant gratification rules. Congratulations on the heavier weight. Don't you just love it when you discover that you're body can handle even more weight?

Brenda, my heart goes out to you. Three kids... I hope all of you celebrate Christmas in good health. In my household, we all gather at the dinner table sniffling from our shared colds and teary-eyed from our allergies. Even something as mild as this is no fun.

Lori, glad to know you're feeling better. I also love the all step premix of SJP. I think that's all I could use from that workout. I'm not a fan of hi/lo and I do my weight training separately in split workouts because I try to lift as heavy as I can. I'll have to wait 'til January to try the SS premixes. I've heard they're really good.

Well, yesterday was PS-upper body and today will be lower body weight training. I still have to decide which workout to use. It all depends on how much time I have left this afternoon.

See you all after the holidays. Have a good one.:)

Hi everyone,

This morning did Charlene Moving to Lean. I expected a slower tape but this got me going this morning. She put in some good moves to get the heart rate up. It was a good 40 minutes workout.

Eating has been pretty good.

Hope everyone has a good weekend. Rhonda

Hi all,
Have a great Christmas Pinky. I'll 'see' you after the new year as I will be away from the computer from 12/24 until 1/5. Is your son old enough to play some travele games? like spotting license plates from different states?

Hey Lori, I feel your pain! all those squats in SS lower body blast...I think you will really like the SS ub blast - I tried that one and enjoyed myself.

On the subject of portion control - that has ALWAYS been my problem. not hungry? what has hunger got to do with eating anyway (if I could only figure that one out!!)

Sabine - good job on upping the barbell weight for legs. I hate doing legs! and MIS always cooks mine, especially inner thighs. Glad to hear you got your blast dvd's. I must have been lucky - mine came a day early, all were in the correct case, none were loose and I have only found 1 very minor menu problem that I can work around.

Brenda, I hope your family is getting better. Good healthy vibes coming your way...

Hi Rhonda!

I'll check back later as it is the weekend coming up and i'll be computerless until Monday...then off on Tues then here on Wed until someone sends us home early for Chrismas eve (I hope) then GONE until 1/5.

We will need a new name soon.

edited to add - forgot to mention - Angles Lines & Curves this morning. I think I did a little better. I'm hoping I can improve flexibility, of course.

Hi everyone and thanks so much for your positive thoughts!

The babies are starting to get better- now they're just conjested and coughing but 2 out of 3 fevers are gone. I'm keeping my fingers crossed that the older 2 kids don't get it for Christmas... that would be so awful but so far so good.

ANYWAY, its great to be back. Yesterday I had a few minutes so I did Super Body Sculpt to do something quick. This afternoon I'm going to have to get in gear and probably do IMAX2 to burn all the calories I ate this past week. I would try and get the kids to eat anything since they had no appitite and pulled out everything-
cookies, pudding, cereal, poptarts... they ate nothing and I ate everything. Then I ordered pizza last night since I hadn't gone to the store and figured, what the heck? If I'm going to fall, I'm going to fall hard.

I'm back on the wagon today. I'm glad it sounds like I'm not the only one who's struggling w/the holiday treats!:) ugh.

For those of you traveling, godspeed and be careful. Hope you have a wonderful Christmas!

Get ready for the January challenge! I have a benefit 1/17 where I'll be seeing many old college friends. My goal is to be in fantastic shape by then if I can get through the holiday.

Have a great HEALTHY day!! Thanks again for your kind thoughts- they made my day.

Brenda

Pinky- about long car rides, we've unfortuately resorted to the portable vcr that plugs into the lighter.

We also play lots of I Spy and the alphabet game (everyone comes up w/an "A" word, then spell it if possible, the "B", etc) or the alphabet game where you look for an "A" on signs on the road, then "B", etc... 2 may be too young, but we try to make something up that they can play.

I had to put a stop to "punchbuggy" cause it was getting a little too aggressive...

Hope it goes by quickly!!

Brenda

Brenda- You sound good after all the stress of sick kids. I did SS Ub Blast today. It was a really good workout. I enjoyed it. What is the January Challenge??

Pinky- We will miss you, that is a long time to be gone.

Sabine- Are you doing your BB SDVD's today??

Rhonda- I admire you for working oout all week. It has been very tough for me.

Bye everyone. have a great day, and a good weekend.
Lori

Happy Friday everyone,

Brenda- glad to 'see' you back on the forums and that's such good news that your little ones are on the mend.

Pinky- have a wonderful holiday! What part of Houston are you travelling to? My parents live in Houston (the Northwest section, near Tomball) although they are in California to spend the holidays with my sister and I. Good luck with travelling with your son. Maybe he'll fall asleep for part of the car ride (or is that just wishful thinking on my part for you)?

Lori- you're having an assume run of workouts! My hats off to you for all your hard work. I can't wait to try some of the premixes that you've been doing when I get back from my holiday. Which have been your favorites so far?

Rhonda- that's great on cleaning up the eating. I splurged this morning since it was the last day of work before 2 weeks off (gotta love those school holidays:p ) so I stopped by Starbucks for a gingerbread latte. YUMMY!!!!

Anyway, today I did Firm BSS2 Complete Aerobics plus Weights and Abs. It went really well and lifted the heaviest I ever have for these tapes and it still felt kind of light and not very intense. I just can't believe the difference Cathe has made in my strength and cardio abilities. I remember when the Firm seemed so challenging for me. The abs section was really good and I felt a nice burn in the gut which I don't always get.

Tomorrow is some sort of cardio before I head up to my sister's house to go to a holiday party with her and her boyfriend.

Looks like next week will be pretty light on the check in's. I leave Monday to meet up with my family for the holidays and while I will have access to a computer, there are lots of activities that we do when we all get together so I might not be abel to check in. I hope that everyone has an awesome holiday, is safe and warm wherever you are, and feels blessed and cherished.

What should we call the check in when we all get back in January?

Bye for now,

No Lori. I ordered the Body Blast DVD's because I had it on authority that Santa was going to surprise me with a DVD player for Christmas. So I have to wait a few more days!!!!! The waiting is like a form of torture as I look longingly at the DVD's sitting so nice on my shelf. I have to repeat to myself 'just a few more days, just a few more days'.x(
