Well, with our Yosemite trip looming in one week, I bucked up and had the cortisone epidural today. It went well - painful but fast and now I'm home taking in some dog snuggle therapy :)

Fingers crossed that it helps and I can enjoy my vacay...trying to remain positive here - send me some healing vibes!

Mega Healing Vibes comin' at you!

Heidi! I hope & pray you will get relief with this shot! I hope it's almost instant too! When I had my first shot I felt the full effect of the shot on the 3rd day, it was like a miracle had happened and I was healed! I hope the same happens for you. And I hope you have long-lasting relief too.:D Some people only need one shot and I hope that is the case for you. So...I'm sending healing vibes and good thoughts to you right now! Have a great trip to Yosemite!! :)

Ok Heidi....I'm crossed up tighter than a Philly pretzel over here :D Good Luck!

Thanks for your collective thoughts and good wishes. I'm really hoping that it will kick in within the next couple of days.

Somehow,we'll make it work. I can handle some weakness on that leg, just not the radiating sciatic pain that makes it unbearable. I'll be sure to hike with TWO hiking poles, and not just one. I don't want to become a casualty over a Yosemite precipice:eek: We're just planning on tailoring our trip to what I can do. Maybe it will be more enjoyable cuz usually I have a tight itinerary and try to cram way too much in...so, maybe I can sit back (or lay back, lol) and just soak up all that beautiful scenery and just be happy:)

I'll keep you posted prior to our trip, but we've all decided as a family (well, the kids are a tad reluctant...) to really "unplug" for this trip. No texting, no cell phone calls, no computer, no facebook. Honestly, I think it will be as hard on me as anyone else!! But, good to get back to the basics of just being a family and reconnecting. That's the plan, anyway....my facebook withdrawal pain may rival my sciatic pain, haha!

Thanks,
Heidi
