1) Terms of Endearment
2) I Never Sang for my Father (this is a Gene Hackman movie I caught on HBO a long time ago. I cried from the first scene to the last)
3) E.T.
4) Monty Python and the Holy Grail (tears of laughter)
1. The House of Mirth (based on Edith Wharton novel)
this makes me cry every time. I usually have to stop the film mid-way because I can't bear the tragedy that will unfold. I keep hoping it will turn out differently.
2. La Historia Oficial/The Official Story
About the desaparecidos and what happened to the children born to them in jail, at the hands of the Argentine gvt in the 80's. Show it to your students when you are pregnant and they will get to see your tears roll down!
- Four Weddings and a Funeral (obviously at the funeral part )
- ET ( I think I cried from the opening credits to the closing credits and for a good while after - I've never watched it since)
I'm sure there are many more, but I can't think of them right now.
City of angels made me cry too... lovely film. But i have to say the colour purple really really made me sob (you know when you're body shakes too) (SPOILER COMING)especially when the the little girls are first seperated and at the end when they come back together (oh and when she finds the letters) oh and ... you get the message!
I have never cried as hard (watching a movie)as I did watching "The Notebook". I think I cried the entire last 45 minutes of the movie and still cried a little when I woke up the next morning.
