Favorite Movie?

Do you have a favorite movie? What is it? If you have lots of favorites, what are they? Or, maybe you just want to share with us a great movie that you've seen that very few people have heard of. I'll start:

Great movies I've seen that very few people have heard of:

Vital Signs - It was ahead of its time. It was like an ER-type of movie starring Adrian Pasdar (what a hottie). One of my favorite moveis.

The Thing - This is John Carpenter's version of the Classic thriller. Scariest, creepiest movie I've ever seen because of the paranoia factor, but one of my favorite all-time movies EVER! If you like scary movies, this is one for you.

The Score - Robert DeNiro and Edward Norton, Jr. This was like an Ocean's Eleven meets Goodfellas - but more the former than the latter. Edward Norton gives another stunning performance...and Robert DeNiro is just his superb self.

Some of my other favorite movies:
Anything by Stephen Soderburgh (Erin Brockovich, Traffic, Out of Sight, Ocean's Eleven, Ocean's Twelve). Soderburgh uses wonderful storytelling with themes, freeze-frames, flashback sequences, and most importantly, music.
Star Wars
Moonstruck
Joy Luck Club
Meet Joe Black
Lord of the Rings (all 3 movies)
Witness (love the music and cinematography)
Regarding Henry
Ronin (another Robert DeNiro flick - very intelligent movie)

...to name a few.

So, who wants to go next?

I have alot of favorites....but the one I can watch over and over again is Butch Cassidy and The Sundance Kid!.....must be a Redford Newman thing...:+ :7 :) ...Carole

I ADORE period pieces so needless to say....

Ridicule - French film describing the social circles in 18th century France where wit was held as a major asset second to money and breeding of course. The wittier & more ruthless you were, the better.

Camille Claudel- such a waste of pure talent and passion of a woman sculptor. Just because she was a woman, she was delt many blows in her life she was never able to live out her potential. Very sad.

Gladiator- So awesome & real to me. Gives me a taste of what it would have been like.

Braveheart, Tombstone- same appeal as above.

Requiem for a Dream is a very modern movie, though. It was chilling and tragic and too common.

Shawshank Redemtion

Working Girl- YOU GO, GIRL!

I guess all the above movies remind me to be very greatful for the simple life I lead.

Marion also posted a thread on Fatal Attraction & mentioned how she loves movies that mess with your head. I guess I do too.

I will still sit & watch Mommy Dearest if I come across it on some channel. I really believe this girl never exaggerated.

You've Got Mail
Ever After (A Cinderella Story)
Never Been Kissed
Meet the Parents
A Knight's Tale
Can't Buy Me Love

Some Kind of Wonderful

Love these movies!

My favorites are Gone With the Wind and the comedy It's a Mad, Mad, Mad, Mad World. Every time I see that movie it cracks me up. There were so many stars in it, it's an all time classic.

OK. I forgot about Can't Buy Me Love. That was a great movie. Cheesy, teen movie but Greatness. How about Say Anything?

People Will Talk--THE most wonderful Cary Grant movie ever made. Love it, love it, love it! He is just SO charming. Also Always and Forrest Gump.
