! Fatloss checkin Jan 2013

Hi Sue, thanks for hitting the nail on the head on my feelings on MFP right now. I'll get there...eventually. This morning I did Burn Sets, tri's and bi's, followed by the new Christi workout. Maybe it will wear off, but I just love this workout. I would call it low intermediate (maybe higher when I can really put omph into it), but it is so much fun.

What are your plans after you finish STS? Will you try an Xtrain rotation next?

I hope you have a great weekend! : )

Hi Tina! I'm glad you're liking the new workout, I'm sure you'll make it tougher when you've got all the moves down. How was burn sets? Fun?

Yesterday was D32 for me, plyo legs - I can feel the heat in my legs. Today is a rest day. I just went 25 days staying w/in calorie budget, going off-script today and eating whatever I want, having cocktails and going out to dinner tonight.

Have a great weekend :)

I forgot to mention after I finish STS I'll take the week doing cardio only then I'll do the 30 day cardio/strength rotation.

Wow Sue, 25 days on target is fantastic! You must feel great! Do you think you'll repeat STS this year sometime? How was your night out? You deserve a giant cheat day, hope you had dessert too. : )

I'm finally getting whatever virus was lurking in our house. It starts out minor, but by the third or fourth day, it turns into fever and chills. I took it easy yesterday and did Pure Spice again. My hips are really sore from all the shimmying. I'm going to attempt to spin this morning. The rest of the week may be a total bust.

Yesterday I listened to a podcast with Tim Ferriss, who wrote The Four-hour Body. His method is extreme, nothing I would ever try, but one of his biggest recommendations is to have one cheat day a week. Nothing is off the menu for that one day, and then you jump back on for 6 days. I seem to be doing that in the reverse order. : /

Hi Tina, how are you feeling? I hope that mean flu passes you by! Did you spin today? Dr. Sue recommends chicken soup, zinc lozenges and oranges. (Dr. Sue is not a doctor!)

I read half of the 4 hour body a while back and decided it wasn't for me, although Tim Ferriss seems like an interesting person. Are you thinking about following his plan? You'd have to severely limit your exercise I think. I have to say I hate the word "cheat" when it comes to food. It's pejorative and has the power to add to negative emotions. I prefer taking a meal or a day off. A day off is nice. A cheat is something to feel guilty about. Stepping off my soapbox now. BTW, my day off was EXCELLENT!

Today was D33 for me and I added on 20 minutes of Tabatacize. One more week of STS! My plan was to take a week off weights then do the 30 day strength/cardio rotation of XTrain, but I want to take some time to redo 1RM and see what the difference is between my starting numbers and after STS. It's the geek in me. I can see myself doing STS over an over again. Meso 1 is a PITA but I can see its value. I just love M2 & M3 (like y'all said I would :) ).

Have a great week, I'm sending good vibes so you don't get laid low by some nasty virus :)

Sue, I'm telling DH the same thing about Meso 2 and 3 right now. He's a little overwhelmed with the pace of Meso 1, so I keep reminding him how next month will be more to his liking. For me, Meso 1 is my favorite. I think that's why I really loved Xtrain Chest, Back and Shoulders this morning. My shoulders feel nice and worked right now.

I heard Tim Ferriss on Marc Maron's podcast, which is something I listen to every week. Tim just happened to be on, and it covered all of his life story. I had never heard of him, but he's had an interesting life. Years ago, DH and I did a nutrition program called Lean Bodies, which is another; no white anything, no fruits or juices. Basically brown rice and turkey meat and beans. We both lost weight quite a bit of weight, and then proceeded to go on a cruise and gain it all back. I won't ever do anything that restrictive again, yuck!

Just ate the recommended orange and it was fantastic. My birds are singing happy tunes, they enjoyed their slices too. So far, I'm not feel too bad, just a bad cough. I wish we lived in your climate!

Great work on adding Tabata to STS. I let my sister borrow Tabata and she thought it was pretty tough.

Hi Tina :) Tell your hubby I'm rooting for him! Did he do 1RM testing? WTG on chest, shoulders, back! I'm surprised how much I like chest and back exercises.

I hear you on the restrictive diets. I've never actually been on a diet, I've just been trying to change my habits which won't end when I reach my goal weight. I have watched countless friends go on diets only to regain the weight once the diet was over. So I guess you can say I learned from their mistakes. If only I'd learned not to gain the weight in the first place :)

Tabata is tough but doable. I'm amazed at the ones who can do multiple tabatas, i can only do one I want to go back to 30/30 and pyramid and see if I find them any easier now that I've done a few tabatas. Today I just took a walk, it was nice and relaxing.

I hope your cough goes away. My favorite remedy for a sore throat is tea + lemon + honey. The taste takes a bit of getting used to, but I've never found anything else that works so well.

Have a great Tuesday :)

I hope you're not down for the count Tina! Today I did D34, chest/back. I took some liquid b12 today for the first time and definitely have more energy than I otherwise would have. Have a great Wednesday!

Hi Sue, you must be excited, only two more discs left! Woot, woot!! How's the MFP logging going? You seems to have everything lined up perfectly right now. : )

This morning I did Xtrain Legs, premix 3. I enjoyed it even more the second time. Then I did STS M1D6 with DH tonight. It's really fun to suffer along with someone else with STS. He's never worked with a stability ball before, and during the wall squats I thought I was going to bust a gut watching him. Good thing he has a really thick skin. He had a Jim Carrey thing going on. I'm already feeling the DOMS creeping up, tomorrow should be interesting.

Still hacking away, but I don't feel run down or anything. I haven't gotten anything as nasty as the rest of the family, knock wood! Where do you find liquid B12? How does it taste?

Hope you're not having any of that crazy weather I'm seeing on the news.

Hi Tina! I'm getting excited to see how much I've improved from starting STS. MFP logging is going well, staying under calories everyday except for my one planned day off. My problem in the past has been thinking I've got a handle on my food and I stop logging and try to keep it in my head. Then I forget about the handful of nuts and think I've got room for some snack. I'll keep on logging even after I'm done losing weight, it's really easy and will help maintain.

Your husband is so lucky to have you coaching him along! How is he doing on pushups? aren't guys naturally good at them? I remember how bad I was starting on the stability ball, I bet it's a hoot to see him trying to get it down.

Today I did half of low impact challenge. I was half way through and wasn't feeling it so I switched over to the recovery blasts premix from Tabatacize. On the 3rd one my leg started hurting so I bailed on that too. Hopefully I'll be in good shape tomorrow for plyo legs :).

The weather is a little weird here, some serious winds for the past few days and temps have been up and down with just a touch of rain. I hope your cough goes away soon, nice that you don't have to be sick though :). I got the liquid b12 at the grocery store pharmacy, it's cherry flavored so it tastes like sugar - you know I like that! I got it because I noticed my b-complex has all the Bs except 12, which is the one that most people need more of.

Time to shut down, have a great day tomorrow :)

Quick check in... plyo legs today, minus some of the lunges. Pizza for dinner, it's difficult to not be a glutton :) I hope you're well!

Mmmm, pizza...I'm sure you had the perfect portion. Was it homemade? We did breakfast for dinner tonight. I'm sort of in a dinner rut. Can't wait for the grill to be available again.

Today it tried to do KCP and stopped after the warm-up. I ended up spinning with DH tonight, but didn't feel so well after. I have Xtrain Bi's and Tri's tomorrow, and then I'm going to take a day off on Saturday. My quads are so sore from yesterday's workout. Between that and cramps, I'm real fun to be around right now. : /

Is tomorrow the LAST STS disc? I hope you've planned a nice reward for yourself. : )
