Fatloss check in March 2013

No workout for me today, My body is fighting something off. Felt not good all week, finally today I have a fever. Not super high, but decided to be kind and not put extra stress on my body.

Tina when a recipe calls for oats is it old fashioned oats? I get confused between those and quick cooking. I will totally make that recipe, it'll be interesting to try something oil- and flour-less.

Welcome Candice! Did I get your name right? If I remember from other threads you want to lose 20-30 pounds? My best advice is to not go on a diet. Make lifestyle changes that you can sustain so when the weight comes off you've created healthy habits that will prevent the regain. And have patience :)

Hi to Addie & Shereta.

Have a Happy Easter ladies if that's your thing :)

Welcome Candice! Great to have you join in. Would love to hear more about you. I'm Tina, married with two teenagers, love to cycle and a huge Cathe fan. I'm trying to lose 18 pounds, which 5 of I gained back over the winter. What Cathe workouts are your favorites? Do you have the STS program. Sue and I are going to start it the first week in May. It would be great if you joined us. : )

Sue, I hope you feel better soon. On the oats question, I never use quick oats, even if it's called for. To me, quick oats seems like instant rice, yuck. Plus I like a little crunch. When I make my morning oatmeal, I only cook it for two minutes, I like some texture. I made those cookies yesterday, but I didn't have any walnuts. They REALLY need walnuts to be tasty.

Hi to Shereta and Addie! Hopy you're both doing well.

Happy Easter. : )

Hi Sue - yes, you got my name right! Thank you! :) My fat/weight loss goal is 30-45 lbs...I currently weight 165, 5'5, and am a size 10-12 depending on the brand/type of clothing. Up top, I'm pretty happy with my size although my lady friends are a little on the large size so it would be nice if they shrank up a little.

I'm not really attached 100% to a weight but I do know what I want my body to look like! I'm thinking it'll probably be a size 2-4. I'm not sure how much of my weight is fat and how much is muscle, so I think I could probably weigh between 120 and 135 and possibly be at the right size. My mom tends to be very very slender and small, and I'm not sure about the women on my dad's side. So, we shall see what I end up at :)

Fembot - hello hello! :) So aside from the above info I gave, here is some more background on me...I'm 24 (turn 25 in may), live w/ my boyfriend and our dogs in Washington state about 90 minutes south of Seattle. I just started Cathe in December after going on and off The FIRM for a few years. I'm really loving Cathe's workouts! I have recently gotten into hiking/wilderness walking in the state parks and stuff around here which is good for me. I work at a large insurance company as a claims adjuster. My goals are primarily fat loss as I mentioned above, but also I just want to be healthier! I have a lifetime goal of living to be at least 100 years old, and I want to be somewhat spring when I reach those triple digits!

I read an article about a 101 year old woman who gets up every morning and has her coffee and walks her dog in NYC, and then does either weights w/ 3 & 5 lb dumbells, or pilates. I want to be that woman! So that is really a driving force behind getting healthy. It's not just to look "hot" in my 20s, but it's to be healthy and disease/pain-free for many, many years to come!

I'm focusing on making small changes right now, shooting to change a habit every 2 weeks. Right now my focus is on journaling everything I eat (not counting cals just yet, just getting in the habit of recording everything!) and also taking a multi vitamin and fish oil capsule every day (I learned that from the Precision Nutrition program).

Whew! Sorry such a long post!

Anywho, on the schedule for today is a 1 hour walk/hike (maybe longer!) and the Back, Biceps and Core from LIS trisets :)

Oh, and fembot - no, I do not have STS yet. But I do have Body Blast series and LIS series, and the two Cathe beginner dvds. I'm working thru her 3 month beginner rotation right now, but have subbed some of the weight workouts from the beginner dvd w/ some from LIS Trisets. :)

I guess I should clarify my first paragraph!

I'm pretty happy with my waist/stomach, and I'm trying to really lean out my lower body...I mean, I could definitely stand to tone up the upper, but I store my fat on my lower body. That is another reason I am trying to incorporate more long walks/hikes...I just "feel" like that could help w/ leaning out my lower. I really don't like to run, and w/ my step workouts, and it's hard on my knees...so right now I'm doing some weights, step, and then long walks/hikes.

Hi girls,

checking in w/ an awesome workout day - probably one of the best I've had in a few years!

- 2 hr hike, easy terrain but a few low-grade hills
- 20 min upper body express premix from LIS Trisets
- 20 min upper body add-on from Basic Step

I was only going to do the LIS u/b but I was feeling really good and really enjoying the upper body work so I decided to go ahead and do the 20 minute add on from BS since I haven't done it in a couple weeks!

hope all you guys are having a great weekend. Happy Easter! :)

quick checkin. Im on a trip and had to drop the no caffience and Artificial sweetner quest. TOM came and i couldnt deal with that, the trip and no caffeince or AS. So I'll get back to that on Tuesday.

Welcome, Candace.

Peace out.

Hi ladies, I hope you had a good weekend/holiday :). Yesterday I did hard strikes with the conditioning drills and today was all out low impact. I'm feeling better but still just a little off.

Tina walnuts are one item I always have on hand - I keep them in the freezer so they don't go rancid.

Candice - nice workout! I wish I could lose easily from my waist - that's my trouble spot!

Shereta travel safe :). you'll get back on the no caffeine wagon soon I'm sure!

Whoever checks in first tomorrow make the new thread? Here's to a great April :)
