Fat Blaster Weekend Check-in

Cathlete
Good afternoon everyone...
you asked for it Tracy so here it is, the weekend edition. Believe me, after such a lousey workout/nutrional week I need this weekend to make up for everything I missed. Hope you're feeling better!

Joy, it is GREAT to hear from you- whenever you want, we'll be here checking in so it will be nice to have you here even if its for a quick moment. We missed you!

Today it looks like Boot Camp or Step Blast/lower body. I did IMAX2 yesterday and my legs were made of wet sand. I could not get moving so I'm going to try again today.

I'll be in and out throughout the weekend so I'll check here later.
Stay warm.

Brenda:)

Hello everybody. Did IMAX 2 before breakfast, so Brenda, I hear ya! With nothing in my stomach, I took it slow and it wasn't until the third interval when I started to feel like I was working out. My performance wasn't at its best. I'm still trying to get used to doing my cardio sessions in the morning, before breakfast, to burn the extra fat in my hips. But since this is genetic, maybe this is just a pipe dream.:)

Talk to you guys later,
Pinky

Morning all,

Finished out my workout week today with PS Chest, Shoulders and Triceps. I forgot how much weight I used for barbell chest press the last time I did this workout so I just used what it was set at the last time I brought it out (35#). After the 5th set of bench presses (3 flat, 2 incline) my chest was fried. Also tried to up my weight to 8# on the tricep exercises but could only manage 1 and 1/2 sets of french press before having to go down. I wish I could do more weight with the tricep exercises but my triceps seem very resistant to gaining strength capacity compared to the rest of my body. My left wrist was bothering me so I used my 5# weights as handles for the decline push ups and the tricep dips and it made a big difference. I may invest in push up bars soon.

Brenda- I know that I'm suffering a bit of let down now that the holidays are behind us and a LONG winter is staring me in the face. I'm hoping that by hunkering down with the exercise it will combat some of the usual Seasonal Affective stuff I tend to go through this time of year. Glad to hear that you're working back into your workouts although doing IMAX 2 after a so so week would have me begging for mercy. That is one tough workout.

Pinky- I hear you on working out before breakfast, especially the really challenging Cathe's. I find that after about 5-10 minutes my stomach shuts up and I have a great workout. But watch out once I'm done! I'm starving!!!! I can't believe Body for Life wants you to wait a full hour after working out before eating. I'd start gnawing on my own flesh!!

Shywolf- I am so impressed with how you're continuing to workout even with your regular workout area under construction. I know I would be tempted to use that as an excuse to take time off. Hope that situation resolves itself soon.

And hi to Tracy, both Lorihart and Lorisax, and Joy if you're able to pop in over the weekend.

Have a good one!

HI ladies,
Sounds like everyone is having a good weekend.I am sitting here with a bath towel wrapped around my waist and WAITING to get in the shower. We only have one bathroom and my father-in-law is putting some new flooring down in it.He says he will soon be finished but I had to take my shorts off b/c I was soaking wet.Half way thru my workout I had to change my top b/c it was so wet.I guess I was so use to running outside that with the cold air,I never realized how much I could sweat.I can't even feel my skin b/c it feels horrible.
I took yesterday off.I didn't plan on it but we went for a ride on ski-doo instead and didn't get home until 11:30 last night.
Today I did 1/2 of Imax2 and a 90 min run. Before each step part I did a 15 min run and at the end of the 5th one.
My father in law is dumbfound. He can't beleive that I just finshed working out.I think alot of people would be impressed at how much working out, us cathe folk do.
Hope everyone is having a ggod workout.
Lori:)

Hello to everyone! I just finished up working out - I started with the warm-up and hi/lo of MIC, then did PS CST. I was just wiped out after the cardio - I found myself wondering how on earth there have been times when I actually was able to go on to the step portion of the workout. I think that is one of the toughest workouts I own!
I felt great during the shoulder section, and I increased my weights there, and in the triceps since the last time I did this workout. Chest, however, is another story. I am beginning to doubt that I will ever be able to increase my chestal strength (is that even a word?) I want so badly to be able to do lots and lots of push-ups and I just cannot. And I had to lower my barbell weight for the bench press- boo hoo!
Tomorrow is a rest day - and week 4 looks pretty decent, although I will definitely have to substitute something for the post PUB 30 min run on wed. and monday looks a bit challenging what with Cardio & Weights and Legs & Glutes back to back.
Have a great weekend everyone.
Tracy

Hiya ,
Well weekends for me are family time although I may be able to fit in a w/o as it's a boys day out tommorrow (Hockey game) and since I have no wicks or wax (need to buy some more)I won't be busy pouring candles.
So I think I may end up doing Bootcamp on Sunday...whoa baby I haven't done that one in a very loooonnngg time.
Hope everyone is enjoying the weekend ! :)

Hi everyone. I did take a 1/2 of a free day yesterday and ate some ice cream plus home made pizza. It was good, but my stomach did not like it today. Today I am back on plan. I did CAWT, and Cardio Sculpt Blaster. I like to do my Firms every here and there. Some times they make working out fun, and not so hard??!!! Tomorrow I am going to do Cardio Sculpt, and probably run on the treadmill a bit, or something, and next week I am going to do the Timesaver series. Monday I will add on a leg workout, and Sat. I will do a UB workout. I have definitely decided I am just not good with rotations. I just do better at doing what I feel like doing, and I have to stick with that. Hope everyone is having a good weekend.
Lori

Hi again everyone, checking to see how everyone's doing... You're all lookin' good.;-)

Sabine, this might make your wrists worse, but I noticed that I was able to handle more weight on other triceps exercises when I started going as heavy as I could on the tricep dips. No cheating, no letting my legs help. All my weight on my arms. I don't do them the way Cathe does -- too fast for me. I do two sets of 16 slow dips in a 2-2 count. Two sets of 12 on a bad day. My wrists are screaming in the middle of the second set, but now I can go through those french presses with 8's all the way. It's those kickbacks where I still have to drop to 5's on the second set.

Lori, WOW! IMAX 2 and a 90-min. run! I'm impressed.:D

Tracy, I used to hate push-ups too. Even now that I can do them well, I'm still not fond of them. I found that once I got to increase my weights on those presses and flyes, I was able to do some pretty decent push-ups, and lots of them! Developing my core strength also helped a lot. I don't know if you've tried this, but brace that core especially when you're pushing off the floor. For me, this helps me last longer and helps me control the movement especially when Cathe slows down the push-ups with those 2-2 or up 1-down 3 counts...

Shywolf, my hat off to you on your Bootcamp workout. I still can't bring myself to do that one.:-( {{{{oh, the shame}}}

Later guys,
Pinky

Hi ladies, I'm checking in again, too:
Sabine, I agree w/Pinky. I find tricep dips have helped my arm strength greatly, and its easy to do them anywhere you can find a chair. Sometimes I'll just do a few sets as slowly as I can and dip as low as I can- everytime Cathe does them in Bootcamp I think I can do the whole minute, then it starts to really get tough...

Shywolf, I'll be doing BootCamp tomorrow, too so I'll be thinking of you when I start to get tired.

Today I did Step Blast and my husband caught me at the end doing the last blast (plyo jumps, air jumps, etc.) and he said "shouldn't you be smiling like they do in fitness competitions?... and I don't think you're allowed to say shut up in competition, either..." I was pretty surly by the end.

Hey ladies, checking in before I log off...

Don't know whether to do KPC or CTX Upper Body. Guess I'll decide later.

Brenda, you're husband is funny.:7 Although maybe not THAT funny to you.:) My husband doesn't say anything when he catches me working out, but last night, as I pored through old pictures of me (taken in the mid to late 90's) and noticed that my lower body seemed skinnier then, he said he likes my legs now that they're "muscular". And one time he saw me doing KPC combos and all he could say was "Whoa!" I looked at him and said, "That's right, mister, don't mess with me now..."

Hmmm, maybe I'll do KPC today. Have a good Sunday, y'all.

Pinky
