I think I remember seeing her IRL, such beauty, poise, & grace, such rarities today, I always admired that. She really is/was a star, a real show-stopper.
I thought Ms. Taylor was a pretty fine actress. I almost had to stop focusing on her stunning features to realize that! Cat on a Hot Tin Roof, Father of the Bride, Virginia Wolff were my fave performances. Nearly forgot she had a cameo in Jane Eyre as well. (Looking forward to seeing the newest release of it...)
It's irking me a little that some in the media are choosing to focus on her personal life more than her professional accomplishments. Rather unfair (yet expected, I suppose) when typically the obituaries of many male actors, who have WAYYY less-than-ideal personal lives, tend to have their obituaries centered around their charisma and career achievements while the low lights are quickly glossed over.
Main point though: hats off to a great acting talent
She was a lovely human being, wonderful in her field, a mom, a grandmother, a great grandmother, and God knows, a wife to many. She packed a hell of a lot of life into the few short years that the human race is granted.
