Faith Hill's Shape Cover- great article

Great article, thanks for the link! I am a mother to one (almost four year old) son, and at only 26 years old, I am certain that my stomach (and some of the rest of my body, too) won't ever be the same. But that doesn't mean I can't be fit!

i am going to tuck this away as a reminder. i have been through childbirth and several surgeries that took its toll on my tummy. i have never had the flat toned belly but i have come close before(and believe me i was STARVING!!) but it still seemed to be further away from what they show on these magazines. i need to be reminded to NOT believe everything you see in a magazine(or the internet LOL).

thanks for posting! i don't think faith had a hand it in,its really the editors trying to sell there product. i don't even like the magazine other then a few food articles and pull out workouts.

I once saw before and after covers of Faith Hill ~ the touching up they do to those pictures is pretty incredible (everything from whitening the eyes and teeth to narrowing the waist). I'm sure her body is fantastic, but there's no way she doesn't have stretch marks. I've always been in great shape, I gained very little weight with both pregnancies (14 lbs), and I still have stretch marks and some loose skin.

Cindy Crawford once joked that even she doesn't look like Cindy Crawford in real life. :D

There we go...that's just what I was talking about. :) Thanks!

She's such a beautiful woman, yet they still felt the need to chip away at her measurements and erase the lines around her eyes.

so does this mean that since I have not had kids and will be 42 in a few months, that I could potentially have a body like that??? :D LOL! It's possible, but highly unlikely... and while I applaude the writer for shinning the spot light on the dirty little secrets of the "rich and famous" I do not doubt that some women are truly blessed with a great bod, even post children! I'm sure there are even some on this forum... (correct me if I'm wrong) but then there are the other 99.5% of us women who have to deal with what God has given us, and have managed to screw up with poor diets and lack of exercise over the years! :)

I'm glad someone had the guts to stand up to the media (of all forms) and said, "do you think we are that stupid?" I hate all the portrails of what women are supposed to aspire to be: 5'8" and 98 lbs... Not even in my wildest dreams could I ever look like that, nor do I ever want to... all I want to be is a HEALTHY VERSION OF ME!!! ;)

thanks for posting the article! :)

I can't remember where I saw it (I just checked youtube and the shape.com website) - but there was a video out there of Faith's Shape photo shoot and from what I saw the abs on the cover are HER abs... not saying she didn't have a tummy tuck - but if she did - so what? She is still a beautiful woman.

I wouldn't say that I was blessed with a great bod. But, I am a freak of nature!!!:D I didn't get any stretch marks from 5 pregnancies ( 4 singletons and a set of identical twins). The only barely visible stretch marks I have were from 10th grade from gaining and losing 15 pounds in a short period of time (those can be covered with a bikini) and some on my thighs from losing weight when I first started working out with Cathe. My skin started losing elasticity after my dc were born at 35 from drinking too much coffee and not enough water.

When I first read the article, I thought it was a bit presumptuous. However, I know I would never allow a picture of myself in a bikini on a magazine cover then or now without some major photo-shopping from my head to my toes!!!:D:D:D

Huh? You sound like you're talking about some geezer. IMHO, 41 is the prime of life. They may have airbrushed out some stretch marks, but I totally believe Faith Hill's abs look that good as a result of cardio and pilates. Look how great Cathe looks. She's around that age and has had 2 kids. My SIL is 44 years old and looks awesome in a bikini. What's not to believe?

Personally, I'd like to see magazines stop airbrushing inches and wrinkles off, and our culture celebrate real beauty in all its forms.
