Facebook aka Crackbook

Crackbook? Is this like coffee but in book form? Speak my language, puhhhleazzze.

Debbie

I'm not gaining weight. I'm retaining food.

Oh dear. It's a website, kind of similar to MySpace, I guess, but MUCH MORE ADDICTIVE. I've hooked up with so many people that I'd lost touch with.

www.facebook.com

You start off with a couple of Friends, then when you go through their Friends list, you see people that you know, so you add them, and then other people find you and add you and then you find yourself adding people you don't necessarily want on your Friends list but you figure that maybe they have someone you know in their Friends list.... yeah, like I said, addictive:p

Nope, your not the only one! I signed up last week and I am always on there! Then I remember someone else that I want to look up so then I spend mins...hours finding them and then viewing their friends and so on. Its just a cycle. Its also a great way to communicate with people without having to call them. I wrote notes to a few girls today, that if I had called...would have taken an hour or more.
Lori:)

"You start off with a couple of Friends.."

What friends? Like who? I'm curious, but I don't have any friends.

Nancy, you could do a search someone whom you haven't talked to in years and find them. Then, while in their profile you can check out what friends they have and you could find someone else you know. You click, add to friends, the website then sends that person an email confirming that they know you and then they get added to your friends list. The list just keeps growing and growing and there could also be friends that are searching for you. I signed up last week and I have over 90 friends already. I have found a few people I went to school with and relatives I haven't seen in ages.
Lori:)

Oh my lord! You are dead on with crackbook! I signed up on a whim cus I don't like My space.....well now I'm checking the darn thing hourly! But i'm really happy cus I have hooked up with so many old friends.

I hate to say this, but for the most part, if I haven't spoken to someone in years it's probably for good reason. ;) But WTH, I'll check it out anyway since I have heard so much about it.

I agree with Robin that it's a generational thing. I have a LOT of friends who are in their early to mid-twenties and it's nice to hook back up with SOME of them;)

I'm on, and just because my young classmates "made" me create a profile (actually, two of them did it for me)! I'm the 41-year-old "mom" of my nursing school class -- most of my classmates are traditional college age -- and they thought I needed to be on Facebook. We're graduating tomorrow (!!!), so I think I'm likely to be using it more than I have during school, to help me keep in touch with my friends who are scattering away to new jobs around the country. Facebook is just one of the ways my school friends are keeping me young!

lmao! I agree with this. For some reason myspace creeps me out and facebook doesn't. If I ever decide to do an online profile I'll go with facebook.

I am with fit fairy and Nancy--hey girls, I will be your friend!:7
Seriously though, I had 2 friends in high school, one passed away (Aids) the other I keep in touch with once a year. After that, one more friend...but she lives in PA now.
And I really am a "girls girl", so I have always wondered why I don't have more friends??? Hum.But I guess having one or two really close friends is better than having a bunch of so-so friends.
This has nothing to do with the web site talk, just my afternoon musings on "friends".:)

Oh Shelley, I too am addicted to Facebook...it's so sad. I don't have any friends, but I keep checking anyway!

I have actually neglected my beloved Hate check in for it. (Yes, I am blushing in shame.

I am so pathetic I rushed over to facebook to try to find you as soon I saw that you had posted this question...ROTFLMAO!
