Fabulous 40's -- week 5/17/10

Cathlete
It's another Monday....how was everyone's weekend? Mine was lazy...I needed that as next weekend will be crazy with graduation activities. Workouts: Sat - Chalean lean circuit 3 --- I'm glad I'm done with the series...it was different but I'm soooooo happy to get back to Cathe. Sunday I did Step Moves....I felt good doing it as I never got to the point I needed to pause it...last time I did it I had to (think it was the humidity during that time). DH told me thought that he found sweat droplets on the workout padded area....I sweat so bad...always have. Monday I started STS Meso 1....I think for this round I'm going to do only Meso1 and Meso2 (I'm not a fan of Meso3), but I like the Plyo workouts so I try to fit those in at a different time.

Ronne, How was your countryside stroll?
Mary, How are you feeling?
Murphy, What's new?
Kathryn, How was the party?

I'll check in later to see responses, bye!

Hi there! Hope everyone had a good weekend. Sat. was DH's b-day, he is inching closer to 40! (next year) We went out to dinner then we had a little suprise with his fire friends, it was fun! Not so fun on Sun. I was moving a little slow! Someone got him a shake weight as a joke, I think I will be the one using it, I will let you know! Saw the PT on Fri., he is being conservative, go back Wed., I will be doing upper body tho. I think I will do a GS today, he said as long as I can sit I can do it! Sat. our little one has his First Communion, I have to get busy with his party plans. Lisa, sounds like you were busy! How did you do with disc 1 today? Kathryn, how was the party? Murphy, you still haven't told us what the 6 week challenge is! Ronne, how was you weekend away? Have a good day! Talk to you tomorrow! Mary

Hi all

Mary - a Shake weight? Is that the thing with the dodgy promo video? :eek:Sounds like you had a good weekend despite the hobbling. Take it easy tho, don't go hurting yourself!

Lisa - it's nice to have a quiet weekend isn't it? Sometimes, you just need that rest.

We had a lovely weekend away, didn't manage so much of a walk as the weather wasn't great. We did go underground tho' , in a boat along a really low tunnel, to a cavern. We had to wear safety helmets as the tunnel is so small. Not something I'm keen to do again!

Yesterday I did Double Cardio Premix from 4DS and today was the Total Body Sculpt Premix from LIC. Got to go and get DD from school. Bye for now.

Whew!

Okay, I survived the weekend. The pool party was good -- small, fun, and the weather cooperated. My parents just left yesterday and they seemed to have a good time when they were here. I'm always glad to see them, as they're both getting older (who isn't?), and not in the best of health.

So I'm dragging today, trying to catch up on everything that I ignored (laundry, bills, work) over the weekend. It's the last week of school and we're off to see Mickey Mouse world (Orlando) on Sunday, so I've got a lot to do to get ready!

Today I sort of phoned it in with Imax 2, because I haven't been getting enough sleep and it finally caught up with me. I'm glad tomorrow is my day off; I need it.

Ronne, I don't do many premixes, but it would probably give me a lot more variety in my workouts. Probably the only one I ever do is the Pyramid upper/lower combo... it's a good full-body workout.

Mary, your DH is a younger man? You go, girl! How long have you two been married? I think I've seen shake weights in Target... is that what you mean? At least they didn't give him Depends as a joke (which somebody did to my DH last year). But my DH is much older than yours... he's actually one of my friends on Cathworld, but he never logs on. I just signed him up to track his STS progress, but he never did.

Lisa, you're my inspiration for trying the old Cathe step workouts. I've never done any of them (though I've owned them for years). People seem to like them, though. Which would you recommend I start with?

Okay, must do some actual work. Piles of paperwork and laundry are calling my name... rather loudly. (Or is that DH telling me to get back to work?) Bye for now!

Just a quick pop-in to say hello. I will away later this week so I won't report in until next week. I am not going anywhere special, I just have a meeting in South Jersey and will therefor spend a few days down there - hopefully the weather will cooperate. I have not decided what exercises I will do but I plan to bring the travel fit and running/walking is always an option. Hi to everyone.

Murphy

Hi girls! Today was a little more than a 4.5 mile run with my beloved Cardio Coach 5. Wow, was I pumped after that! Still haven't lost anymore weight....it comes off so slow when it's only a few to 10 lbs...not like the biggest loser :(

Ronne, that tunnel sounds cool. We once did some cave crawling, entered into a little HOLE in the side of a mountain and crawled on our bellies for a bit until it opened up to a bigger area, then crawled over the fissures and gaps. IT was pretty cool, I was sooooo stunned when the guide said, "here we go" and jumped into the hole! Double Cardio Premix is one of my favs! Kathryn, you need to do that one!

Kathryn, how am I your inspriation for older Cathe step workouts? I don't know that I do any older than the Imax2, Step Blast, there's one on the ImAX1/MIC I do (name escapes me). Have fun at Disney, how long will you be there? We did Disney alot when the kids were young...it was nice since my family was in Tampa and we would combine the 2 visits.

Mary, you cougar you, having a younger DH! :)

Gotta get to work, sigh.

Hi girls! Today was bi's and tri's, yesterday did chest. Also the shake weight. Don't really recommend it! We are all way past it! I did get a younger man! We have been together 15 years, married 13! My boy toy is growing up! Kathryn, we go back to Disney next year! Do you w/o on vacation? Lisa, good job with your run! Ronne I enjoy a lot of the premixes, sometimes they are harder than the real w/o! Have fun in jersey Murphy! Have a good day all! Mary

Hi everyone

Today I did a KPC premix (I'm just premix crazy, Kathryn :)!). The weather is finally brightening up here. I got my summer clothes down last night and put all the winter stuff away, including my boots. It's nice to see some bright colours again!

Kathryn - how long are you going to Disney for? School finishes so early in the States doesn't it? We're just coming up to half term!

Lisa - you're a bit of an adventure junkie aren't you?! :p What with the cave crawling and that rope thing you showed us. I don't think I'm in your league.

Murph - hope the work trip goes well.

Mary - so how did it work then doing the upper body? Are you on crutches?

See you all tomorrow :)

Lisa, isn't Step Moves an older video? Maybe I'm confused... it wouldn't be the first time! And don't worry about the slow weight loss... on Biggest Loser they can lost 20 lbs. and not look any different! You are at the refining stage, not the unloading-a-small-village stage!

Disney for seven days (two of which we'll be stuck in the car, enjoying lots of "quality" time together). Should be fun.

Yes, I exercise at Disney -- same schedule as at home. I get up early (still) and run or hit the gym before hitting the parks. I need the extra activity to offset the extra food. But no meal plan this year -- it's overpriced and an invitation to overindulge. Besides, both of my kids qualify as adults (DD is 10 today; DS is 12), and as such, we pay adult prices for people who eat three bites per meal. Not worth it!

Mary, when will be you be at Disney next year? Which resort? We're at Beach Club Villas. Great pool.

Ronne, in the South we get out earlier than in the other part of the country, but pay for it by starting again in August... sometimes very early August. When does your school year start and end?

Mary, I thought the Shake Weight would be too beginner for you. After doing Cathe for years, we're all past that. And "Boy Toy..." how cute! I had one of those before DH... he was cute too... lots of fun. I think every girl should have one at least once in her life!

Murphy, I hope the weather is good for you. DH is from north Jersey (Upper Saddle River).

Last thing: DH casually mentioned to me that he's calling the wildlife removal guys because he saw a snake way out in the back yard... turns out that he really saw it by the pool (up near the house), and it is hiding somewhere in the rocks around the pool! And of course he didn't know what kind of snake it was, so it could be anything -- from a garter snake (harmless) to a copperhead or cottonmouth (not harmless)!

Hi everyone! Today was shoulders and went to therapy. Tomorrow will do back. Didn't think I would ever say this, I miss cardio! Kathryn, we stay at the villas also! Love that pool! Hope you have a great week! Lisa, your cave crawling sounds terrifying! Love your cat tho! Ronne, haven't done kpc in a while. Wonder if I could just do the punching sections? Well, housework is calling my name! See ya tomorrow! Mary

HI !!!!! Busy day for me so I'm just finally posting. I think this is the last time I'll volunteer for more work! Right after I got more work, problems with other stuff happened, sigh. The thing is in this new office model, you don't get work unless you ask for it and then you know I have to account for my time, so I have to ask for work but know anything else I've worked on can blow up in my face at any time....and so it did today.

I did STS Meso1 Back/Tri. Was going to do abs tonight, but I'm too tired. I did lose another lb, so that makes 2 lbs a month which is about the best I can do at this weight. Thing is I have like another 10 to go, so that is 5 months! I'm trying to be good, but I did have pizza tonight. Papa Murphy's chicken, bacon, artichoke, spinach delite (very thin crust). I don't think that broke the diet budget too bad. With the stress of today, I WANTED chocolate when I got home, but i resisted!

Mary, be careful! Better to be safe than sorry. I would worry about the twisting motion when punching. We are bad for making fun of my cat, huh? I'm just jealous, wish I could lay around all day, get fat and still be sooooo CUTE.

Ronne, I guess we are a bit adventurous, but within reason...for some reason I've never been too keen on scuba diving....something about being underwater deep and what if I need real air? Maybe because when I was a kid, my friends and I played a pool game where you tried to keep each other underwater...well, I didn't get a good breath one time and she thought I was joking that I needed air and I ended up gulping in water to TRY to get some air.... scarred for life after that. I think summer might be springing up here too! These sandals I bought really are hurting my little toes :(

Kathryn, eek, good luck with the snake! I don't think I'd wander into the back yard until I saw it's lifeless body so that I would know the coast is clear! Step Moves is the new on for STS Cardio, isn't it? It's hard to keep track of everything! And then even when you know you KNOW something sometimes you just can't retrieve it from your brain!!! Very annoying....let's blame those hormones again! Good for you on exercising on vacation....I'm not sure I'll be that dedicated...maybe run for the sake of saying I ran on the deck of a ship, go to the workout room to use an elliptical and whatever else I normally don't have....but i don't envision hour long workouts. How long do you normally workout each day on vacation?

Until tomorrow......have a great evening....

Quick fly by....I managed to get Athletic Step done, but it wasn't pretty! Had to pause 3 times, the humidity is very high today. I added in SJP abs. I'll check in later to see how everyone else is doing!

Hi everyone! Did back today, had to skip the deadlifts, thought it might be too much too soon, I am getting anxious! I have lost 2 more lbs tho! Probably b/c I am not as hungry? Anyway, good job on your step w/o Lisa! Sometimes we just need that extra breather! I know I loved the breaks in STS! Kathryn, have you caught that snake yet? Whatever happened with AT&T? Did DH find out about it? Murphy, are you having fun? Ronne, the weather is beautiful here too! Got my flip-flops out! Have a good day! Mary

Hello all

Kathryn - we finish school in mid-July and go back the beginning of September. It's always about 6 weeks off. And flies by! You are very dedicated working out on holiday. I don't bother!

Lisa - good job on Athletic Step. That's a tough one. Poor you with the work, it sounds like a really odd way to run things.

Mary - you take it easy, don't do anything that's going to endanger your recovery. Enjoy the sunshine!

Today I did Bootcamp, that always puts a smile on my face.
I've just been sitting here painting my toenails ready for my weekend away! I'm going to Bath with a friend, we're spending the day here tomorrow: http://www.thermaebathspa.com/
Aren't I a lucky girl? Then we're going to spend the rest of the weekend mooching, shopping and eating! I can't wait. I'll see you all on Monday several pounds lighter (that's cash of course ;)). Have a good one everyone.

Ronne, YES you are lucky!!!! I think we should all join you!

Mary, watch out for those chocolates, I know how you can get!

Lori oops, I mean Lisa I was just finishing eating a peanu butter cup when I read your post! Ronne, I want to go with you!!!! Mary

Happy Friday everyone! today I had planned to do STS Meso1 Legs, but I woke up with cramps and high humidity again, so thought I'd take it easy and do MMA Boxing, but then by the time the cramps subsided, I was running late on time, so popped in HIIT 30/30...was a little leary since I didn't feel up to par, but it was really good! When Cathe said this was the last interval I couldn't believe it, amazing!

Busy weekend with graduation and birthday events on both days, have a good one everyone!
