Experimenting with my calories....

I'm still astounded at the 100 lbs. I lost 40 in high school and I thought that was alot

I think it's fabulous how you rewarded yourself after each goal. Got a little pricey though, didn't it, LOL! Especially the BC and reg x(

I use a 3 mm wetsuit over my skins. It makes the wetsuit go on easier and keeps me warmer. Fifty degrees is brutal. The coldest water I've ever experienced was 70 degrees in the Florida springs. I had to wear a hood or I wouldn't have made it.

Let's see. My favorite place to dive so far had to be Bonaire. The water was 80 degrees and as smooth as glass. My next favorite was a little island called Saba near St. Kitts. We don't go as much as we used to because it can tend to get a pricey. DH has an underwater Nikonis camera and takes lots of pictures. I just like to look at the fishies. Last year we went to Cozumel and I we saw an Octopus with his little garden all laid out in front of the home he made. Very cool.

Thanks for the website!

Here are a couple other ideas:

1. Cod or tilipa are pretty mild flavored and so they will pick up the flavor of whatever else you mix it with. Blackened seasonsing, minus the salt, is one my favorites with these. They make good tacos too, or taco salad.

2. Wild Oats-a health food grocery store chain- has canned tuna that is low in sodium, and it's wonderful!

3. I like packets of salmon, too. Very versatile.

I really like Orange Roughy, too! I've made this packet style with an Asian twist and it's just delicious and very filling.

Connie :D

Connie,

My cube mate mentioned cod. I don't think I've ever eaten it so I'm going to try it. I like talapia okay but I really like the flakiness of Orange Roughy :)

HEhehe, congrats on those 2 pounds!

This no sweets thing is no sweat for me- as long as I stay at home. As soon as I leave the house I can feel myself start tensing up and wondering if I'll be able to resist a "little" treat. My track record isn't very good so far, I'm sad to say. Maybe if I committment to being a hermit I'd be better off. ;)

I'm still astounded I ever had 100 to lose. I developed achilles tendinitis and was told to stay off my feet as much as possible. Sooo I took that to heart and stayed off them for 4 years while simultaneously falling into a real funk where I found solace in pizza and cookies! When my brother's wedding pics came back I didn't recognize myself - I was stunned. So I started working out again and eating 5-6 small meals a day and over about 1.5 years, the weight came off - then stopped darnit. Admittedly, I relaxed about my diet after losing so much, but for the past year I've been really trying to finish the job - or so I thought. We'll see if all the good advice on this thread gets those fat burning fires started again!

Bonaire is awesome. Except I need to do more balance work. Navigating those algae covered rocks in the shallows with scuba gear on was NOT easy for me. I fell on my back once and couldn't get up because the surf kept pushing me back down. It wasn't heavy surf, just enough to make me look like an upside down turtle!

You should try UW photography. I had no interest in it either until my BF bought me a camera (Canon Powershot w/ underwater housing "sold separately") Now I LOVE it. It puts everything UW in a new perspective.

Cozumel is on our list too - maybe this summer.

Those oatmeal pancakes sound really good! I was just thinking about how I could clean-up and shake-up breakfast. ;)

I'm a snorkeler! I started to take diving lessons at Florida Keys Community College, but got blown away by a hurricane and had to move. ;( x( I absolutely loved living in the Keys! I snorkeled just about every day I lived there and was amazed at how well my legs shaped up and slimmed down- all while eating "vacation" type foods. Ahhh, it was so beautiful. One of the best- and worst- times of my life. One day I will move back there and snorkel everyday again.....

I'm coming to Atlanta next weekend to go to Six Flags!! :)

I remember someone telling me the same thing down in the Keys...cool!! I really don't care WHY it happens, I'm just thrilled that it DOES happen. :p

BYOCF to Six Flags!! Last time I was there clean food was a soft pretzel. But then again - that was years and years ago...

I'm re-thinking breakfast too since I'm such a cereal junkie. I remember a recipe in the South Beach (hey speaking of the Keys!) book for "quiche" that you made in muffin tins to eat on the go. Might be an option! Breakfast smoothies are a good option too - very filling.

Then there's the ever popular egg white omelet. Ooh - another good one is an egg frittata. I quick steam a little broccoli, heat a small iron skillet sprayed with oil and pour in 2 eggs + 2 egg whites beaten and the broccoli (or spinach or whatever you like). Cook it until it starts to set on the bottom and finish it in the oven for about 5 minutes. I usually grate parmesan cheese on top before putting it into the oven. I love this for dinner too.
