Ever met anyone famous?

Lisa!

I worked at Byerly's on France. All sorts of snooty and obnoxious folks shopped their daily. However, I met my husband there, so it was good for something!

I shook hands with President Nixon while he was campaigning in Akron, Ohio right before he won the election.

Met and took pix of almost every Disney character at Disney World! :7

I shook hands with Omar Visquel (Cleveland Indians shortstop) and got his autograph at a mall in Canton, Ohio. He had the prettiest sweater on! He was also balder then I thought he would be. Nice looking man.

I met Wilma Smith. (A Cleveland news anchor woman)

I met 5 different gals from Cathe's forum!!!! Hi Murph, HB, EricaH, Aimee and Lisa! Each and every meeting was so much fun! My next hope is to meet YOU all and Cathe!

I know I met an author once since I got an autograph in his/her book, but can't remember who???

I met, talked and took a class with Michele Reber, the gal who lost all the weight in the Taebo tapes with Billy Blanks. She runs a Taebo studio in Canton, Ohio.

I think that's it! :7

Hi JoJo! I haven't been on the boards for a while and just saw this! I'm so sorry it took me so long to reply! I'm so glad you had fun!! How cool! Yes, Scott was there in 2002!! He played the best man "Barry Wheeler" and also the wedding singer "Donny Dolce". He's never played Tony, he doesn't want that part. :p He'd have to kiss "Tina" every night. He wants to save his kisses for me. TeeHee!!! :)

He now only plays the Wedding Singer. He likes this part the best.

BTW, I met Scott at this play. We were there for a work outing celebration, and he was playing the best man at the time and asked me to dance and danced with me the whole time. I emailed the show and told them what a great time we had and to tell Scott he was the most fun of all. The people gave him my email and he remembered my name and emailed me back. We emailed for a couple months before finally going on a date and the rest is history!!

:)

Last summer, I waited on Bill Clinton at a private dinner for 300 people (where Clinton spoke at the War Memorial in Trenton). I actually waited on him, had to be searched by Secret Service, and had my picture in the paper because of it.

Let's see...I waited on Emeril at Susanna Foo in Phila, PA (where I work) during The Book and The Cook week in Philadelphia. I also saw Mick Jagger, and Amy Tan (author of "Joy Luck Club") at Susanna Foo while working. At another restaurant that I worked (in Princeton), I met John Nash (the man chronicled in the movie "A Beautiful Mind"), and his son. I also met Elisabeth Shue's brother, Andrew, who used to be on "Melrose Place."

I guess that's about it...but I am hoping to go down to Cathe's gym and meet her. That would be better than all of the above :)

>ok I don't know if this counts but I met Donny Osmond a few
>times, I have run into him in the movie theater and a book
>store and I have run into Marie Osmond and I also ran into
>Wilford Brimley also at a bank. But then again I don't know if
>those count LOL

Why in the world wouldn't Donny & Marie count?? Unless you are saying that running into them in a public place isn't the same as actually meeting them? I do think it qualifies though! :p

The Osmonds are good friends of mine. I've known them since the early 70's. The whole family are extremely nice, friendly, down to earth people.

My sister used to do wigs and makeup for ballet companies and theater productions, so I met some celebs through her - Mickey Rooney (in a traveling production of the Wizard of Oz), Rudolph Nureyev (very obnoxious arrogant man), Calista Flockhart pre-"Ally McBeal", Toni Collette and Eartha Kitt when they were doing a Broadway show a few years back (Toni is not the friendliest person on the face of the earth; Eartha is A Diva). I also met Vanessa Williams at a party - she was hugely pregnant at the time and still looked drop-dead gorgeous. Was at a party where Meg Ryan was just leaving, so I caught a glimpse of her.

As a New Yorker, I've also spotted some famous people on the street - Ric Ocasek from the Cars, lots of models, Yoko Ono and Iman.

On a trip to L.A. I saw Tiffany Amber-Thiessen ("90210") coming out of a Rodeo Drive boutique.

Great thread!

In 1985 when I was still living in Hungary -- I'm Hungarian -- once I met Tony Curtis. I was visiting a little turisty town with a friend and he happened to be there too with his crew. I asked him to be on a picture with me. I still have that photo, my kids get a kick out of it!
