Endurance to strength - order of Cathe's videos

Hi Cathe and educated crowd,

I would like to list Cathe's weights-only workouts in order, going from endurance-oriented to strength-oriented (ie light weights/high reps to heavy weights/low reps). Do you agree with this (I don't have the BB ones yet, so am guessing on these)...

Power Hour
Muscle Endurance
Maximum Intensity Strength
Supersets
Push Pull
Pyramid total body premix
Pyramid upper and lower split
Pure Strength
Slow and Heavy

I am thinking of using this order and doing 1-3 weeks with each. I got this idea from the HST program (hypertrophy-specific training) in which bodybuilders do 2 weeks of 15s, 2 weeks of 10s, then 2 weeks of 5s, building up to rep maxes in each 2-week period. They rest a week or 2, then start over again.

Regards,
Sharon

I can't speak for the body blast new ones, but that is the same order I would rank them. That sounds like a good plan, and I have contemplated using them in that same sequence myself. Let us know your results!

I Have a question, You said you would do each one for 1-3 weeks each. Do you mean 1 video per week??? And how often. Please specify. I am very interested in trying this.
Thank you!
Darlene T:) :)

>Good idea! I've been looking to shake things up. Where do
>you put CTX upper and Leaner Legs?

Dawn, I wondered about CTX, too. :p

Hi! I don't have CTX, but from what I've heard it's quite high rep, so I would put it between ME and MIS.

I was thinking I would do PH 2-3 times over 1 week, then the same for ME. Then, 2 weeks of MIS, Supersets, Push Pull, and Pyramid Total Body, doing each one 2-3 times per week before moving on to the next one. Then, 3 weeks of pyramid upper and lower, doing each workout twice per week. Then, 3 weeks of PS and 3 weeks of S/H, doing each tape once per week. I think that makes 19 weeks.

What do you all think?:)

I'm currently doing the pyramids, and when my BB DVDs arrvive, I will probably spend some time "playing" with them.:D Then, I might have a 1-2 week break and start this.

I made a mistake when describing the HST system - they do 5s for 4 weeks, making the cycle 8 weeks long.
Sharon.

Just thinking out loud... Here is another option, if you didn't want to be too rigid about doing a particular workout on a particular day:

- 4-6 weeks, 2-3 times per week, of a very high-rep tape, choosing from PH or ME. Then...
- 4-6 weeks, 2-3 times per week, of a medium-rep tape, choosing from MIS, Supersets, Push Pull (I believe the rep range on all of these is around 16+). Then...
- 4-6 weeks of 8-12 rep workouts, choosing from pyramid total, pyrmaid upper and lower, and PS. Then...
- 3 weeks of S/H - that is Cathe's recommended time for that workout.

That makes 15-21 weeks total, and you would have enduarance and strength benefits. You'd probably need a break afterwards.

(Not sure if CTX would go with the very high-rep or medium high-rep workouts.)
