embarrassing ?

Oh my gosh, yes I have this problem! I've just kind of come to accept it as I have upped my fiber intake, but my hubby busted me the other day (he came home a few minutes after a particularly bad outburst). Talk about embarassed! I guess we haven't been married long enough for me to feel comfortable with that. :) Maybe I'll give Beano a try!

AKirkland..

Hi there-

I don't know your first name, so hopefully you will read this.. Have you tried the Detour Bars by Next Proteins? Those don't seem to wreak the havoc on the system that most of the other ones do. About 300 calories for 30 gms of protein and they actually taste pretty good!

As far as shakes, Isopure does a pretty good one and its sweetening is done Ace K and Sucralose (splenda). The chocolate and chocolate peanut butter are the best!

I agree with you about Balance Bars.. I don't have much of a problem with those either! Can you eat Zone bars? They are pretty good, too. But I think they have some soy in them, which can also be problematic for some people's digestive tracts.

Getting enough protein in for me is a challenge too.. I am not a big meat eater, so the bars/shakes are pretty key for me as well..

Take care, Lynn

RE: AKirkland..

Im sooo glad Im not alone!! A couple of things that I have found to help...I take papaya enzymes, and they work pretty good for the bloating, and excellent if you get heartburn. I also had to stop my protein shakes, now I just mix whey protein with some kind of juice, yogurt and fresh or frozen fruit, and that helps cut the explotions!
But most of the time I just use it as my secret weapon to get the couch all to myself!! Well except for the dog--I think that just makes him love me more!

Have a great day
Jayne
