Is Elliptical the right word ? Antway, just wondering if anyone owns one at home ? Are they worth it ? What are they like on the knees ?
Information, please ?

Many Thanks

I don't have one at home -yet. My hubby uses the one at his corporate fitness center and loves it! With some of our tax money he wants to actually buy one for home.He thinks I put too much stress on my knees doing Cathe all the time. He really likes this machine. It's low impact but he says it does give a really good workout. Susan

I have an elliptical trainer. They're adjustable to different levels of difficulty, so you could probably get as good a workout as you're willing to work for. Personally, I find I'm much more inspired by Cathe than by my own conscience and work much harder with the videos. I do the ET when I'm really, really tired but don't want to give up my workout completely. Also, while they're less impact on the knees, I find that they twist my knees a bit. Sometimes my right knee pops out of place briefly after I use it. It isn't painful, and it does it at other times as well, but especially after using the ET. If you have knee problems at all, I'd advise trying one out for the length of a full workout before buying one.

I actually just used mine last night. I always forget I have it! I'm usually not a fan of cardio machines, but I went on for 35 mins last night and watched tv so it wasn't bad. Within the first 3 mins, my legs were burning (again, I don't use it much). I got my HR up pretty high and was sweating, so I definately got a good workout. I think I'm used to my usual Cathe tapes and spinning classes and I always thought the ET was easy, but it's really not. You can add an incline and resistance.

As for it stressing your knees, it might if you do it a lot. But since I don't use it all that much, I've never had a problem.

I have a proform model & I really like it. I would recommend for cross-training. I can't do Cathe's step, so I use my elliptical & treadmill for cardio. I have all of her other tapes though & Love them.

bye

Anna,
I have one, a Proform Cross Train 700 I think it is??? I LOVE it and wouldn't trade it for the world! It is great for those days when I am pressed for time, or don't feel like doing step and still need to get in 20--40 minutes of cardio. I love puttin' on my cd headphones and jammin' out.

I got it online at Iconfitness.com They are great! Have great deals and good customer service.

Good luck in finding on if you decide to get one.
