Thanks for working through that with me, Bobbi!

I took the donut, in its little paper bag, and I squished it beyond recognition. Then I threw it in the garbage.

WHY do people who know that I'm trying to eat well and lose those last stubborn 10 lbs insist on buying me things like donuts? WHY?

I dont get it either Shelly. The ONE time I mentioned to a co-worker, "I'm watching what I eat before my vacation...." He came to my desk while I was on the phone and poured a ton of M&Ms on my desk and another day a Krispy Kreme Doughnut. I threw my junk away too.

Susan-
Perhaps there is more to this clean eating thing than I understood. I was just going by Cathe's description. Which fitness website?

My pleasure! You killed donut, didn't you? You have to wonder about what motivates peole who seem to want to sabotage your diet. Try this. Push it back toward them and say, "No, thanks. If I eat this, I'll have to skip my broccoli at dinner." Pause and look like you're thinking really hard then add, "And half a chicken breast and half a cup of pasta." Then launch into a long diatribe about how an extra 50 calories per day will put 5 pound on you in a year. Pull out a calculater and crunch the numbers. There's three hundred or so calories in a donut versus around 50 in a cup of broccoli. That's 6 cups of broccoli you can't eat. And, your addicted to broccoli. They run after you've done that just once. It could get worse because once you meet your goals, they'll try to convince you, you can afford that trans fatty thing.

Or tape it to your butt to illustrate that's where it ends up. You'll have to stand all day but....

OMG, I should have changed the title to just "healthy eating"...I didn't mean for this to get so scientific, but did enjoy the postings anyways. How interesting!;-)

Shelley-glad you got rid of that evil donut. Would have done the same thing. Now don't you feel better?

Charlotte~~

Yes, Charlotte, I feel very virtuous. And I'm going to yell at the person who got it for me.}(

Now I'm off to eat my "clean" grapes.
