Dumbbell Rack

Hi! I have the second one and keep it against the shortest wall in my wo room. The closet idea sounds awesome!!

I would be concerned that putting the weights in the closet would make them difficult/annoying to get to. Of course I don't know the exact set up. Which one can hold more weights or is either one sufficient for the amount you have or plan on getting?

I would go with the 3-tiered rack. I prefer the ability to grip two dumbells at one time *facing* the rack. I put my heavier dumbells on the mid rack so it doesn't task my back to lift them and return the 40, 45 and 50's numerous times. I put the lightest ones on the top rack. It makes it easier when I'm doing a dumbell intensive workout or something like Pyramid Upper and I want my dumbells lined up where I can grab them 2 at a time.

I have the vertical kind, but I also live in an apartment and so needed the smaller footprint. The horizontal one is great, especially tucked away in a closet (particularly if it has folding doors that will still close), but ultimately it's about how much space you have and the footprint of these two items. They're totally different. It's also about how much weight you have or plan to get. Lifting heavy weights is easier off of the second one, but lighter weights fit more easily on the first one.

Dela, I have bi-fold closet doors. The width of the closet frame to frame is about 58 inches. I plan on taking the doors off. Since I'm the only one who lives here, who cares. LOL
