drinking water with lemon

Why to some people put lemons in their drinking water? Is it to make the water taste not so bland or is there some other benefit to it? Maybe it would inspire me to drink more water if I added lemon to it.

Before I started enjoying plain water, I did it just to add a little bit of flavor to it. What I really like is water with a slice of pink grapefruit in it...it's so refreshing!

I like the taste of the lemon or lime, and although I don't have a problem with drinking tap water, sometimes I can be picky about how it tastes. The lemon helps mask any chlorine kind of taste or smell.

I ask for lemon when I go out to eat b/c a lot of resturants water taste very chlorinated to me and the lemon gets rid of that taste.

I like the lemon to add flavor but also that little bit of vit c - it adds up throughout the day. Whenver I can I make it fresh squeezed so I get that pulp!!

I just like the taste of it. I also like the taste of water with a slice of cucumber in it or an orange slice. I hadn't tried grapefruit but that sounds really good!

I put some slices of organic lemon (with the peel) in a gallon container of distilled water. For flavor, but it also helps make the water alkaline.

I love citrus in my water. I just tried some slices of cucumber and it's very refreshing. I like plain water too, but it's fun to jazz it up a bit. I also like adding a bit of concentrated juice sometimes. I've tried concord grape, blueberry, pomegranate, and black cherry from my health food store. Very yummy!

For me, the lemon just makes the water seem so much more refreshing. I can't bear to drink water without it now.
I should try to grow a lemon tree. ;)

I agree, it's a refreshing change. At the last dinner party I attended there were slices of cucumber in the water pitcher, which was also quite a pleasant effect.
