Drill Max

Hi!!! I've been wanting Drill Max since it came out, but I'm afraid to buy it!!!! Just watching the clip on the site makes me worn out!! I think the scariest parts are all the pushups. I hate push ups!! I can do them, but oh my!!! I know I can handle the cardio. I really want this but am terrified of it!!! None of her other work outs have ever given me problems (not to say they are easy.) Everything else seems just right. So how hard is this really???? Will I need to enlist my husband to drag me back up the stairs when I'm done? I'm looking for a challenge, and this looks like it, and a lot of fun as well. But I don't wanna die. Also, is it easy enough to modify? I'm a little tight on left to right space. Or if I just can't do what she's doing, is it easy enough to sub something else in? I so want this in my collection!!
 
I don't have Drill Max but I wanted to reply because I totally feel you on all of your post. Watching the clip makes me curious and excited, but I think you might have to wipe me up off the floor if I tried to do it. I'm terrified!
 
You would LOVE DM!!! It's somuch fun. Yes, it is challenging, but that's the point, isn't it? :) Don't be scared of it. There are so many premix options. As far as the L to R space...Cathe mentions you can jump higher instead of further apart. I love this workout - you won't be sorry if you get it!
 
You must get it. It's great. It's so different to anything else - different types of cardio (not so much step which is great for my knees), a nice variety of weight exercises.

I love it - the time just flies by. I was really dreading it before I did it but it wasn't as bad as I expected.

I'm sure you'd love Drill Max!

I don't much L to R space either but I don't have any problem with DM at all...I just alternate the jumps. So if Cathe jumps 3 to the left, I jump 1 left, 1 right and 1 left again. It works for me.

The Drill Max workout is great!!!!!!!
 
You'll love Drill Max! It is definitely doable. Just make sure to pace yourself. You'll be happy you purchased this workout and as Cathe says "Embrace the Challenge".

Er, there aren't that many pushups in the workout. You get past them really quick. If you want to avoid them, it's easily done, without the workout being compromised. Just hit "skip", or do a chest exercise that you prefer instead.

The cardio premixes on this dvd are worth the purchase alone.

It's a great workout & a lot of fun. But it is probably THE most advanced home workout in existence. It's not something I'd jump into, but something I'd work up to. If you haven't done any of Cathe's other circuit workouts I'd start w/them first. DM is NOT for the faint of heart.
 
just did drill max for the first time this morning and it kicked my butt!!!!!! i love this workout and i think u would love it
 
I actually think my Barry's Boot Camp DVD's are some of the toughest home workouts I've ever done. Actually I've only done one of the workouts (previewed the rest) and it had me gasping for air and I had to stop to catch my breath and the cardio segment was oly 20 minutes! All that to say that I think DM is doable b/c I can do that one from start to finish!!! Modify the pushups by doing them on your knees and increasing (slowly at your own pace) how many you do on your toes even if you just start out with one or two on your toes. DM is fun and tough but doable!!! Go for it!

Thanks for all the advice. I ordered it today. Hopefully it'll show by Sat. I can do it Sat and spend Sun recovering!!

Personally, I think Drill Max is not nearly as difficult as some of the other videos.....if you can do Boot Camp, High Step Training, High Step Challenge, IMAX 3, etc., then you should not have any problem.

I do, however, feel that what I think is difficult may not be difficult for another person and vice-versa.

I have done Drill Max in its entirety only 6 times. I don't like the workout at this time However that does not mean I won't like it someday.

The few times I did it, I did not feel overwhelmed at all.

The pushups are not bad. They are not nearly as bad as the ones in Low Impact Circuit or some of Cathe's other circuit videos. Actually, the dive bomb pushups are a piece of cake compared to staggered pushups.

I do not think that Drill Max is easy to modify if your workout space is limited and/or you don't have a free wall. I workout in an area in my downstairs near my laundry room and garage. The room does not have a door, and I have bookshelves against all my free walls except the one where I keep my free weights organized and store my step.
 
Im' going to be in the minority here. I have a huge dread factor for this workout and find it to be really challenging. I hate the cardio with the ball. I do find if I modify a bit I can do the workout better and I think it's a good all-over body workout, but it's just not a favorite. I really have to work myself up to do it. If you want a challenge though, you won't be disappointed and this workout is unique among Cathe videos.
