Dreaming of a Muscle Meltdown for Legs

I have been enjoying the MMs from ICE so much and find myself wishing there had been an MM for Legs. So I'm wondering...if you could design your own MM for Legs, what 5 exercises would you include? I'm thinking I'd have to include squats and plie squats, but after that, I'm torn between so many other great leg exercises.

Ok, how about a leg press on the high step with 4 or 5 risers, holding a heavy weight, 16 count then switch sides, repeat. Or elevated lunges where your back foot is on the step, holding a weight, pulse 16, switch sides, repeat. Leg roll ins on the ball, slow and controlled, 7 reps then lift one leg, another 7, switch sides another 7. Killer! Don't forget about those Dixie cup lunges or a deep squat then kick, alternating until you collapse!

On a side note....Cathe has a Rock Bottoms rotation. If you do the "bonus butt" segment, it takes about 15 minutes. Just a thought. I have it posted on my wall in case i have the time and I feel like limping for a day or 2. It works!

Omg, I was saying this to myself just the other night: A MMelt Hamstrings and Calves would be awesome!!lol. (but of course Cathe did make us not one, but two excellent Lower Body workouts in ICE, so in no way I am complaining!!)

Great set there Peg! :)
I would add double hammie raises with a bar like in Pure Strength Legs and I know they're a bit boring, but weighted/DB calf raises sat on stability ball- 15 are enough.

Ohhhh, where do I find that "Rock Bottoms" rotation? TIA!

I'm seriously tech challenged so I'll just advise you to check the forum with rotations listed. You'll have to go to the February 2011 Rock bottoms rotation by Cathe. I tried to paste the link....sorry!

1. Sit n' stands
2. Deadlifts: not stiff-legged, but the ones where you squat to pick barbell off the floor
3. Stability ball roll-ins for hamstrings, both two-legged and 1-legged versions
4. Bulgarian split squats or lunges (rear leg elevated)
5. Clock lunges with gliding disks

I need to write this down and then do it tomorrow! 4 rounds of each, heavy up. Followed by a hot bath!

I'd add really low curtsey lunges like the booty extreme 2 workouts - I have DOMS every time lol! Then a plyo move right after them!
Jamie

Like Jamie, I love this combination above.

Here is my little list:

  • Rolls In and out on a froggy stand to hit inner legs:eek::p
  • Combination of reversed curtesy lunge , step cross and back for each leg followed by a squat. Try out with a body bar or barbell;)
  • Jefferson squat --- despite being quad predominant I love hitting my quads.
  • Narrow stance dumbbells squat, parallel or slightly lower to the floor.
  • slide lunge in any possible variation LOL
  • Lunges.

Oh on more meaner side --- In a good intention;);), I would top up a bonus pulse session while doing the curtesy - squat combination during the last set of rep by pulsing 4 times on 3 counts:pMy list could have been longer:eek::eek: Love this thread:);)

Oh my, so fun to read what everyone's 5 exercises would be! I would pick:

1. Squats-12 reps with mod. heavy weight
2. Lunges-12 reps with mod. heavy weight
3. Plie squats-12 reps with mod. heavy weight
4. Step ups-12 reps each leg with mod. heavy weight
5. Deadlifts- 12 reps with mod heavy weight

Repeat 3x!
