Does anyone have a Jack LaLanne Juicer?

I am considering buying a Jack LaLanne Power Juicer and just wondered what others have to say. If you have this brand or another brand of juicer tell me what you think. Does it help you to take in more fruits and veggies? How do the juices taste? Is it more trouble than it's worth?

Thank you,
Gin

I don't have that brand but I think it's the centrifugal kind. (I did my research into juicers awhile ago and have slept since then. lol). I ended up buying a Breville which is also a centrifugal kind. It worked just fine for me. Plus I could buy it at Bed Bath and Beyond and use my 20% coupon

I used my juicer initially to make Green Lemonade (from Natalia Rosa's book). It is yummy. Now I've stopped using my juicer - but not because it stopped working. I just hated losing all of the fiber. So now I do green smoothies using my Vita-Mix.

p.s. I think there is a thread around here on juicers. Check out the different kinds and see what you like best

Yes - I have it - got it a few years ago. I don't use it anymore now that I have a Vita-Mix. I found the juicer to be quite cumbersome. I mean - it juices well although the tamper is too long and I ended up with ground plastic in my juice.

Honestly - I LOVE the Vita-Mix. I can make green juice and just about anything else I want. It is much more versatile than a juicer.

BUT - if you get a juicer - I don't recommend the Jack Lalane.

I have a Jack LaLanne Juicer!! I like the way it juices but the clean up, taking the pieces apart to wash it is a bit of a pain. I used it alot when I first bought it but I don't use it that much because of the clean up.

I got it for Christmas and was disappointed. It was a pain to clean and pretty messy in general. I returned it. I have never heard anything negative about the Vita Mix though!

I bought a Jack Lalanne a few years ago from HSN, then quickly returned it. I'd had another centifugal juicer previously (Acme--hmm, wonder if Wile E. Coyote has one? ;)), and the Lalanne one was of much shoddier construction: lots of plastic where the Acme had metal. Also, a pain to clean.
