Does anyone have a Ford Expedition?

Christine, I am not going to argue with you but you are mistaken about the temps rising. Check out the term junk science on the internet and see what you come up with.
 
I just filled up my Exlorer in NJ, where gas is 2.29/gal. 21.3 gallons cost me just shy of $50! I'm ready to put up w/ less comfort for more fuel economy.

I have had an Expedition for 4 years, we really like it, have had very little problems with it. I think it is very comfortable and I like being so high up. The turning radius is awesome, it is very easy to park. We have 3 little kids and it allows room for their carseats plus a 3rd bench seat plus some storage. It was either this or a minivan, the mileage diff is negligible, IMHO. If I could get away with a two seater I would, but hey!

I would have gotten the Eddie Bauer edition if we could have afforded it. The interior takes a beating with all of our passengers.

I also have an Expedition, a '98 red Eddie Bauer. It is THE most dependable vehicle we have ever owned.
I am very attached to this vehicle...and I have never really been a 'gotta have that car/truck' person. If I ever allow DH to trade my Ford, it will be for another Expedition.:p
 
There's a lot of information on the internet that is not based on solid scientific evidence, and temperture increases on a global scale is a measureable quantity. The ice caps are melting. Glaciers all over the world are retreating - infact the ice fields of Kilimanjaro are expected to be bare within 15 years - for the first time in history. But, these facts can be interpreted in many ways. I've heard all of the arguments you are presenting, and I've heard all of the counter arguments. This is not the place to expand upon them. You're not going to change my mind. And I'm certain I will not change yours. I think we'll just have to move forward and agree to disagree.
 
Well, we just got home with our brand new eddie bauer expedition and i love it. the turning radius is awsome and it is so nice and roomy. there are lots of features that are so cool and i am quite pleased with it. thanks for all of your input;-)

Valerie, I feel your pain. It costs about $50 to fill our SUV, so I try not to let it hit empty. I am just not ready to give up the comfort. It isn't the two small kids, but the "stuff" that travels with us. It is ridiculous. :)

Actually none of that stuff you have mentioned has been measured reliably. In most arguments that become political what you have to remember is to follow the money trail. In a nutshell, if you are a researcher and you say global warming is real, then you can continue to get your funding. If you report the opposite, you will not get funding. A good read is a book called Big Fat Liars by Morris Chafetz.
 
Just don't like to see people stating things as facts that are not indisputable facts. The book I recommended explains it all with no bias either way. Statistics are slanted everyday by the media to make the sheep in this country believe and follow certain agendas.

We recently t got a new Expedition Limited and we love it! But it won't fit in our garage. But then, we had decided to keep one car out anyway to make more storage room since we don't have a basement anymore. We have taken it on a lot of day trips for fun into the mountains and it accelerates wonderfully on the steep road up to Flagstaff (6000 foot climb.) The Tahoe we tried out did not have nearly as good acceleration. Gas mileage sucks at 16-17 but then we knew that, and besides running the AC when it is 115 degrees has to suck something out of the gas tank.

I think it needs a better test than that, Pinky. She needs to pack up all the Texas gals and bring 'em up here to Canada, where we REALLY have wide open spaces;)
 
Ooh! Yeah, baby! I'd love to see me some authentic fine-looking Canadian hockey players up there. Talk about enjoying the scenery.
