Does anyone else hate pictures of themselves?

I was wondering if anyone else hated seeing pictures of themselves? Last night we had friends over and the couple wanted me to take a picture of them so I did. Than I said take a picture of me, hubby and son. SO she did, she took about five or six. I hate all of them of me. I think may face looks fat and me hair looks like poo. My hubby said you don't like any pictures of yourself and it is true I don't. I see other people in pictures and they look so nice. Anyone else?

Yes, I warn people that my picture could break their camera. My daughter took my picture not too long ago and it made me cry it was
so bad

Well I think in your gallery you’re ‘very pwitty’, Steph. Sometimes photos just depend on the lighting/clothes/angle you’re in. Take me for instance

That’s me on the left in black. Ignore the caption; it’s just a little typo

Here’s another one of me from last year. It looks a little different because I’m in eveningwear (again ignore ALL captions):

And here’s a view of me from the side.

So which one do you think I should I choose for my avatar? And what type of medication do you think will cure my various psychoses?

I feel the same way. I am always the one taking the picture or using the video camera. Sometimes though when I look at our photo album or home videos, I am in very rarely or not at all, I wish that I was in them more because I think, what if I died tomorrow, my kids won't have any momentos of me. My sister and brother are so photogenic. You can snap a picture of them without them even posing and they look so good. How jealous am I.

My sister is like this. When I got married, I put my fiance/now husband in charge of invitations, and he decided to make a CD invitation. He asked for pictures of everyone in the wedding party and the request actually made her cry! She is very pretty, and I'd had no idea she was really that sensitive about it. I think she gets nervous when she is posing for pictures. When the wedding photos were developed, she looked really beautiful in all the "candid" photos that she didn't know were being taken.

I too hate pictures of myself...I have a gap between my front teeth that I am extremly self-conscious about.
And why is it that pictures always tend to make you look bigger?

The only good pics of myself are my drivers license and my Glamour Shots that went national with the company. Other than that, forget it!!

Steph, I think you look great in your photos. I know how you feel, though. I am not photogenic at all and take the worst pictures, while my youngest sister could not take a bad picture if she tried.x( I always pick myself apart in photos and look at all the things about me that I think are "wrong."

OTOH, that is who I am (Miss Imperfect), and the pictures taken at family gatherings and other special occasions that I think I look so terrible in are still very precious to me b/c they are reminders of the time spent with those I love and care about. After all, that's kinda why we take them--as reminders of wonderful times. Just my way of looking at it.

I like my Glamour Shots pictures that I had done for DH's birthday several years ago (even though I was chubby in them). I prefer not to have any pictures taken of me, but as for how I look in them, I like them better now than 70 lbs ago!!!

Shelby...........ya had me going for a minute!!!!!!!! ROFLMAO!
I really think you should find an avatar that is triangular so you can use all of them!!!!

Steph,

First, your beautiful and I wish I looked that nice in a bikini. But, I understand how you feel. I also hate myself in pictures. Weird, but I also don't like my children (probably because they are girls and are "extensions" of me.

Second, in your workout room, I noticed the bands hooked on the back of the door. Is that the modified pull up thing for P90X? Is that just a regular hook that keeps that up there?? That looks much less expensive and less work to set up than a chin up bar! Does it work fine? Can I use my cathe band or is it not strong enough?

Thanks!

Lauren

To Traci:

Thanks for that avatar suggestion. As you may have guessed, in my own little twisted world, anything is possible;-)!
