Do you watch your videos before you do them for the first time?

Sometimes I preview, but, for some reason, I tend to fall asleep before they're finished!

I like to watch them when I'm working out on the elliptical; I stay awake and get motivated at the same time. And, like Janie, I do watch them sometimes after I've done them. I'll catch them on FitTV when I'm having coffee in the morning, too. Sometimes it helps me figure out moves that I don't get when I'm working out to them. And I like seeing how I can improve my form.

Never ever have I done that. I just put it in the player and go. Don't really worry about making mistakes, because mistakes burn calories too. I barely have enough time for work out, so watching a work-out before doing it seems like a big waste of time to me.

A always preview - even the straight weight lifting ones. Gives me an idea of what to expect, what weights to bring out, etc. I do, however, keep the remote in hand - I don't watch the entire segment, generally. I'll watch the first repeat or two, then forward to the next move. Unless I'm eating dinner or knitting or something - then I just watch it straight through.

I also preview with the remote in my hand. At the beginning of a new move I'll watch it but then I watch it in fast forward till the next segment. It just gives me an idea of what to expect, especially since I'm a beginner to step workouts. I doubt I'll preview KPC because I've done kickboxing in the past.

I always preview workous before doing them, with a finger on the fast-forward and chapter buttons. I usually fast-forward through cardio, once I see what the combo is and think I understand it, and chapter forward or FF on weight workouts, once I see what the move is and figure out what weight I might use.

If I haven't done a weight workout for a while, and can't find my notes on what weight I used previously, I will also do a'chapter forward' review of the workout in preparation to doing it (usually the night before) and write down the weights I'm planning on using.

Previewing workouts like this seems much less boring to me than going through the video at a slower pace the first time 'round. When I workout, I want to be working out!
