Do you think Child Protective Services would care?

I just put together the guinea pig cage that I bought my daughter for her birthday guinea pigs. She won't get the pigs for another month, but I wanted to make sure all the parts were there and I had the room for it.

Anyway, she has climbed inside and made me close the door. She's upstairs, locked in a guinea pig cage, and I'm downstairs going about my business. I keep calling up to her to ask if she wants out, but she says no. I kind of feel like I'm abusing her...but I'm only doing what she wants.

Maybe I'll luck out, and she'll fall asleep in there and I'll have an afternoon to myself!}(

My friend's daughter climbs into her dog crates all the time and has so much fun! You need to post a pic for us :)

My two cents...for whatever it's worth.

If your pig's crate contains shredded cedar or the like, be careful your daughter is not inhaling too much of the dust. I believe it can be a breathing irritant.

My daughter had several guinea pigs growing up :)

My daughter and her two friends used to love to crawl into the dog crate and pretend that they were puppies. We had a 125 lb dog, so the crate was big enough for the girls.
The dog used to get quite bent out of shape - the crate was "hers".

Take some pics, they grow out of this stuff so fast!

LOL!!! That sounds so cute! I am smiling from ear to ear! Kids are great!

BTW I am still calling cps right now. I think that you are the adult and shouldn't lock your daughter into a cage, even at her request and no matter how "cute" it is. Your gonna wish you never posted this!

Just kidding!!!!!!! Did I scare you?????}( I hope not, please forgive me! I am feeling ornery today.

Donna ~

You don't mention how old your daughter is but if she's "chatty" you just might want to be careful about her "mentioning" that Mommy locked her in a cage.... Ya never know!

Do they come large enough to fit a teenager in? I won't tell on you if you stay mum on the duct tape trussing (Thank you, Shelley!) and taser therapy for re-training messy kids I have in mind! ;)

That's hysterical!!! My parents have a new dog and my daugther climbs in the crate with him all the time. She sits in there with him and feeds him his dry food one piece at a time.

Ha!!! :7 I have a friend whose niece was put in a large baby doll box with the cellophane "window" in the front because she wanted to get in. I think she was 2 or 3 at the time. The picture of it is hysterical. We laughed our heads off because she looks like a real babydoll in the picture! This lil' girl looks like a Precious Moment with her pure white hair and blue eyes. I think this could be a danger should the lil' girl crawl in herslf especially with the cellophane against her nose/mouth but a cage would definitely be different. Soooo Donna, how much have you gotten done today???
Came back to edit. I called you Doona! :7
