Do you ever think that your body is just against you?....

I am soooo frustrated lately!!!!!!! x( I have put on some weight since October and can't seem to get it back off. I know I don't eat clean and with all the holiday baking I am not eating right but any stretch of the means, but I am not over doing it either. I was soooo frustrated this morning that during PS Legs and abs I did 60 pound squats just to see if I could manage the barbell over my head, and I did, and during quarter dead lifts(which I don't do) I went to the S and H Legs tape and did their squats (was I a glutton or what:eek: ) with the 60 pound barbell. Nothing like frustation to drive you to a heavier lifting day,LOL!!:7

The post about burnout, was me last week. I just couldn't muster enough energy to do any of my workouts. I did taebo 2 days and rode the bike for an hour on a trainer just because I couldn't get into Cathe. I also did only 2 day of endurance weight workouts and wasn't even into those either. I really do like strength much better. I am happier this week because I am back doing the PS series. I am not sure what cardio I will be doing but I really need to work on mastering the Cathe step tapes that I have so I will be more apt to do them. Right now I am still in the learning phase so I find it hard to pull them out.:+

Anyway, I am seriously thinking of not worrying with what the scale says until after the holidays and then concentrate on losing the weight after the new year!! I am just getting to depressed over the whole thing.

Plus our house is in shambles with renovations projects going on, my decorative table is now a catch all for tool and what not, the drywall has to go in soon, because the doors we ordered will be here soon. We are without a vehicle for 3 days while the dent gets taken out that the deer left for us and didn't have the decency to die. UGH!!!!x(

I am sorry this is turning into a major vent.:+

If you have read this far, bless you!! and thanks for reading!!!:D

RE: Do you ever think that your body is just against y...

Hang in there, Annette!! I feel your pain and I'm with you all the way. I understand, too, about not worrying what the scale says and getting into high gear after the holidays to lose weight. My own personal problem with that is then my mind will be silently telling me it's "OK" to eat bad because I'll lose the weight after the holidays.}( And, I can't do that........but, I am going to try to be as good as possible and keep up the exercise, but also enjoy my holidays with family and friends and the food that is usually only made once a year.

Good luck and this board is here to support you, too. :)

Cheers, Marcia :)

Oh, Annette! A vent is just what the doctor ordered! I read somewhere or heard, that clutter is percieved as stress, so of course you are wigging! I also think you are smart to throw your scale into a closet until the holidays are over! I have a great method for streamling your diet! Try the http://www.fitday.com food intake calculator. It is such a pain in the butt to search out and add all the types of food that I have cut mine down to it's most basic components! And seeing it in front of me really helps me to evaluate and keep on track. And yes there is an entry for sugar cookies! Gotta have 'em, it's Christmas!

We all get motivationally challenged sometimes so I agree with Marcia, hang in there, baby! Keep smiling. Your attitude is beaut-i-ful and you will get back on track when you are ready!
A big hug to you, lady! http://www.handykult.de/plaudersmilies.de/pftroest.gif Bobbi

RE: Do you ever think that your body is just against y...

I totally hear ya. I get so frustrated sometimes, it's a amazing I get back into a workout groove at all. It seems that if it's not one thing, it's another. If I feel great mentally, then my body falls apart in one way or another (or I break it). If I feel amazing physically, I'm totally stressed, anxious, or just depressed. And then there's work, school, family, friends, shopping, laundry, decorating, and scrubbing the toilet. It never ends. Hang in there!! It will get better. Please enjoy the holidays... they are such a special, fun time of year. With the let-down after the explosive stress of the holidays, the new year is a perfect time to concentrate on a new program. And if your house is done and pretty, all the much much better!

Take care!! Vent as much as you'd like.....

FitDay

Wow! Thanks Bobbi! I just checked out that site and how cool!!!

That's so great and it's free!!

:D

RE: FitDay

It's a great site and it keeps me on the straight and narrow, having to really look at what I eat! I alos recommend the calendar right here at Cathe.com. It's to the far right on the tool bar. I have been using it to keep track of my workouts. Since I am at Cathe.com so much, I don't have to pull out my journal and write the stuff down which I forget to do alot!

There is nothing worst then when you want to do something and your body won't let you.I guess this is where the saying"mind over matter" comes from. There are days when i want to workout but I can't muster up the energy to do it.Or I start doing it and I want to stop. Then there are days when you just look at your videos and you don't want to do any of them.
And I swear that my hands are out of control at times...it keeps putting food into my mouth!:) And my mouth keeps opening.Whats up with that?
It all happens to the best of us.I think when motivation really hits us we can go for a long time, but then there are those off times. We get tired and can experience burn out.But I think it is up to us to let our bodies do what they want or we can force them to do what we want.I get spitty if I make myself do cardio whenI don't want to but when its over I am so glad that I did.Sometimes you have to remember how you will feel when the tortures over.. ;-)
Lori:)

Absolutely, Lori! I should have "one of those days" becausae I woke at 3:30 and I feel fine now but my tank will run dry!

Have you considered a handcuffs? Cuff those rascals behind your back and the say na na na na na to your mouth! It will probaly turn your husband on too! I wish I had a smiley clock to add here!

Yeah,it doesn't take much to turn him on....I haven't seen any clocks lately. But thats o.k cause I like to sleep!:)

Annette,

Sounds like you are going through a very stressful time! I can relate. I know my apartment needs renovations, but I just keep putting it off because I know I'll be a stress mess during the process.

I too prefer heavy lifting to anything else. I look forward to it, and have to force myself to do the other stuff. 60 lbs. is awesome!!! I've reached my limit at 40 lbs. I simply cannot hoist any more weight over my head without causing myself injury, unless my husband spots me, and even then I don't feel safe. But those squats sure do work!!

Please don't get depressed. I'm also going through a stressful time and eating more to soothe myself, but I know that when this period is over I will have accomplished a lot, and so will you. Just think how great it will be to have your house done! Just hang in there.
-Nancy :)
