Did anyone make it all the way through MIC?

Hi All,

I just wondered how long it took anyone to get through the entire tape of MIC.

I have done this workout about 4 times now and still can't get throug the whole tape.

Tonight I got the furthest I ever have. I took a break in between the low and high cardio(put laundry in washer).

Then I took another break in between high cardio and step(put laundry in dryer).

Then during the interval blast at the end, I just could NOT do the 2nd round of the intervals.

Has anyone had this same experience or are people getting through this tape without the amount of breaks I take.

I feel I am pretty fit and I also work out sometimes at a gym and other times with CATHE tapes.

I am just hoping that this is normal and that I don't think I am in better shape than what I am!!

Michelle,
I actually did this dvd this morning. This is the one I do when i need to burn mega calories(562 to be exact). I have had this dvd for over a year and it is still rough getting all the way through, it is just a tough w/o. I do not take breaks except to sip water during the excertion tests she takes. My suggestion would be to modify some of the w/o where you can to keep you going and this may help with the need to take a break completely or end the w/o early. Also it is not just you MIC is a tuffy;-)

Yes, it can be done. It just takes time and patience. I personally would intially break it down into two separate workouts. I would first master the hi/low and then I would tackle the step workout. Either workout alone is a great heart pumping routine.

Once you can comfortably complete both sections, then attempt to do the entire thing. At first you may not make it to the interval blast. But before you know it, you'll complete the entire thing!

Hope this helps.

Joanne and Lorrayne gave you some great advice. Modifying in places and having patience will get you thru it after time. The breakdown of the duration is as follows: warm-up 7 min., Hi/Low aerobics 26 min., Step aerobics 33 min., Stretch 4.5 min. I would sometimes get bored during the beginning of the step part. I know being a distance runner has given me the endurance to get thru MIC...:)

I've had this one a LONG time (it sat on the shelf for awhile before I had the guts to try it at all!), but I know I had to work into doing the whole thing. The first Cathe cardio I ever did - in Jan. of 2000! - was the HiLo portion of MIC because I didn't have a step. Doing the entire workout is one of the tougher accomplishments you will experience doing Cathe tapes (DVD's).

Michelle, you are so not alone in this. I seldom reach for MIC b\c it's so hard for me. For some reason, I always get a cramp in my side during he hi\lo. This puts me in a poor frame of mind for finishing! I figure if it's not fun for me, then I'm not going to do it!

I did and sometimes still do, what Lorrayne said... I tackeled it in segments.... I am not into Hi/Lo just because it reminds me of my first 20 years exercising... I like intervals much better so many times I will warm up w/ a quick 10 min. step routine , do the Hi/Lo segment then go back and do the step segment and finish it off. If I wait to do the Hi/Los after the step I convince myself that I'm too tired and I don't give the dreaded section my all.
As stated the calories burn is YUMMY so I really try and do it once in awhile

Michelle,

I was am in the same boat and do this w/o rarely because it is so difficult. Here's what I do: I actually do the step portion first because I like step better. That way I have the energy to finish the step part and that's still a great workout. Then I'm really warmed up and think to myself, "OK, I'll go ahead and do the hi/lo." I fast forward to the medium intensity and go on to the high intensity and do as much as I can. I got pretty far last time. There was only about 10 minutes that I couldn't do. Keep working at it!

I don't even bother dong the whole tape because I think the hi/lo portion is just ridiculous. It goes on and on and on with no rhyme or reason. I can't see the benefit of continually bouncing up and down.

Plus I can't bear to watch Cedie bouncing around with such a poor excuse for a bra. It's painful for this fellow "big girl" to watch. I don't know how she got through this workout, bless her! The angels must have held her #### on for her.

Love the step portion though! I do the low and medium intensity portions and the step part and forget the rest.

IMHO, Cathe has made much better workouts than this one, previous and definitely after.

Please no flames! :)

It's a tough workout that's for sure, but I do like it. I always feel good when I've completed the whole thing. EXHAUSTED but good! I can't do it non-stop, I have to stop and catch my breath a few times and wipe down the sweat on the step, etc. Some days I don't have it in me to complete the entire thing and I split it up, but this is one workout I reach for alot.
