Hi, all,
This is the most supportive group I've ever seen, and I really need some of that "Cathe-love" as my DH and I attempt a series of physical challenges on Monday and Tuesday -- this is my DH's 42nd birthday challenge.
There's a long back story to this involving my DH's cardiac arrest in 2006, which you can read on our website (http://lhctodd.googlepages.com/), if you are interested. In a nutshell, my husband has been passionate for a few years about doing a series of physical challenges based on multiples of his age combined with a fundraising effort. This year we decided to do it together. So, in 42 hours on Monday & Tuesday, we will:
run 42K
bike 42 miles
swim 4200 yards
lift 4.2 tons (using Cathe's GS UB wkouts)
do 420 pushups (mine will be on my knees)
do 420 crunches
We’ll basically do half on Monday and half on Tuesday. The primary point has been to raise awareness of and funds to help the plight of the homeless, generally, and a local organization, specifically. It has also been to celebrate life and to make others more aware of the need to take a moment to find their own personal mission and to help someone out.
We'd appreciate your good vibes, thoughts, prayers, etc., on Monday and Tuesday as we embark on this crazy adventure.
Thanks a million -- you are truly an awesome group!
