Good Morning Girls!

Today I ran and then BM1 was on the schedule, but after getting only 3 hours of sleep last night, I decided to just do the w/u and weight section only and skipped the cardio. I have been doing alot of cardio lately and needed a break!:p Don't know why I had trouble sleeping last night!? At least I still have one more day off today.:) Need to run a lot of errands.

It was great to have ds home for the weekend. He left to go back to school early this morning. But, we will see him again next weekend for Parent's Weekend.

Marcy--Hope you had a nice Easter with your family. How is the packing going? What was your workout today? Isn't your birthday coming up next month? And Deanie's also?

Hi Deanie--Hope you are having a great vacation!

Have a great day!

Good Morning Girls!

I was so sore from Jari's RTTC on Saturday that I couldn't bring myself to do any strengh work so I did cardio. I was surprisingly sore in my legs and a little in my chest. I did the new CIA 2804 - Sharon Money-Twombly's Athletic Step Jam. I confess I got this one for the good price and tradeability since I don't usually like athletic stepping. You know me, the more complex the better. However, I found I kind of enjoyed it. It was a real calorie burner at 556 calories. There were 3 combos, and a good ab workout. There was also a good stability ball section (a la Drill Max) which also had some pushups and it seemed like it would be good for the core (watching it and doing it are two different things and she did say certain moves were good for the core). The combox were easy to pick up although there were a couple of slightly complex moves involving turns. There were lunges off the step and a move like a karate chop with plyo (kind of like Blast #9 in IMAX 2). I worked out for 1 hour and 34 minutes and my HR was in the zone for 1:07.

I also previewed CIA 2801 over the weekend with Gay Gaspar. She had some more complex moves. I only previewed mostly all of the moves with the breakdown and there were so many knee repeaters I was getting really bored. This morning I looked at Combos 1-5 without breakdown and it looked a lot better but I can't imagine going through about 45 minutes of breakdown with all those repeaters. Knee repeaters don't do great things for my thighs aside from them being boring as hell. So alas, it will be traded for Stomp It Step Showdown with the Evolution instructors of which I saw a clip and looked more my speed.

I also found a trade for Gay Gaspar's 2701 - I guess I just don't click with her and will try and trade for Willpower & Grace with Stacey Lei Krauss - it is a barefoot workout with yoga moves, cardio with plyo work, lots of squat and lunge variations; leg work with no weights and balance work like curtsey lunge into front kick and back lunge bringing back leg forward into tree pose and some balance poses with swinging arms. It also has 25 mins. or core work with supermans, plank variations, deadbug and traditional and non-traditional ab work for the entire core. Workout is 65 minutes. I read the reviews and they looked really good.

I had a really nice Easter with family. We decided we're going to have one more final get together before we leave.

Except for what I'm taking with me, the rest of the furniture has now been divied up among family so at least I know where everything is going.

Gin - Taking a break from cardio? Shocking! I really wish I had today off. But I can't afford to take any extra days right now. Glad you had a nice visit with DS. I basically just have most of my workout DVDs packed and some books and my spice rack from my kitchen (actually some of them broke when I was bringing them to the basement - they're all little Lenox spice jars but luckily only a couple broke). Yes, birthdays are coming up - Deanie's on the 5th and me on the 7th. Did you get Yoga Shakti yet?

Deanie - Hope your having a great time on your vacation! Are you getting any workouts in?

Sorry for the long post.

Hi Again!

Marcy--It surprises me that you were so sore from JL's RTTC after all of the weights you lift. I guess it's just when you do something different. Sounds like a good workout you had today. You are incredible the way you can do different routines and catch on so quickly. I am the opposite. The first time I tried IMAX2, I was so frustrated I thought I would never get it!!x(
I have today off b/c I work at a church school and the church is closed for the Easter holiday. Yeah!
I made a bid on ebay last night for Terminator, but didn't get it. You have that one, right? I'm not real sure that I really want it anyway.
Are you buying new furniture in GA? You gave away some of the furniture you have now?
Hopefully, my break from cardio was just for today (although I did run!). Tomorrow I plan on CK. BM1 cardio is just not my fav and I was tired from lack of sleep.:(
Sorry about your spice jars breaking.
No Yoga Shakti yet. I have to watch the movie I rented last and return before they send another. I am slow.
DWTS on tonight. Hope I can keep awake long enough to watch.

Hi Gin!

I think you're right. It was so long since I had done RTTC. I never thought my legs would be sore. I only used 10# but I guess the exercises really do work.

We're buying mostly new furniture in GA. Most of our stuff is about 20 yrs. old and probably wouldn't fit or wouldn't look right in our new home. That's what happened when we moved last time. The ceilings in our home now were pitched so my pier cabinets from my bedwall didn't fit. The wall unit didn't look right, etc. We have a couple of recliners we just bought, my grandmother's table and a TV stand but other than that, my son and my nephew will take the rest. It would cost too much to move just to find out it didn't fit or look right.

See, I knew you couldn't go a day without cardio!

I have Terminator. I actually liked the Gauntlet on that one. IMAX Xtreme is mostly cardio. The one I liked least was the Viper - first because it's too long (80 mins.) and second because it has a lot of Muscle Endurance on it which I can't stand. Also, I don't seem to do a lot of circuits anymore. Although maybe I should try a rotation again with circuits to change things up again.

Hope you're able to stay up for DWTS! It's on for 2 hours tonight.

Looks like things are about to go through with my closing. Turns out it looks like my buyer's lawyer was trying to coordinate simultaneous closings but didn't want to order the title search too soon. (It would have been nice if she filled us in on what she was doing.) The mortgage broker said things should be able to move along pretty quickly now and we might be able to close within 3-4 weeks. YAYYY!:p
